Wonderful people, great family memories spot! Chocolate shakes all around! Went on Mother’s Day and it was made even more special by the staff.

This would get five stars but the staff here are so rude! Tastiest slush, very good ice cream(made by Richardson’s). Especially great selection of flavors and you can blend the slush with soft serve ice cream for the absolute tastiest concoction available on a summer evening. They have picnic tables out back and a couple Adirondack chairs out front, and parking is free on street or in the(teeny) lot next to the building. My toddler loves the people/truck watching from the sidewalk here while we eat our ice cream. All around a fun place!

to me slush is just slush, so im not reviewing the slush… but on one of the first nice nights of the season I wanted a treat… so In my mind when I think of a frappé I think choc vanilla choc chip… but I asked if I could get the reeses pb cup ice cream for a frappé… the girl behind the counter said absolutely and changed my life for ever… so much for beach body… I live around the corner so hopefully that short walk can burn off multiple milkshakes this summer

Awesome prices and flavor selection for slushies! I was craving an italian ice but in my local area most places just have a few flavors of Richie’s available. I saw Spadafora had almond slush available so I had to check it out. It was SO good! Their almond is a great mix of a sweet vanilla flavor but with a bit of a cherry-ish and coconut accents. I love it. I can’t wait to come back and try peach and banana!

They serve Richardson’s which is my favorite. The small is a good portion and cheap for $ 3. I was able to get 2 flavors in my small and got half Mint Patty, half purple Cow frozen yogurt. They didn’t have 1 of my favorite ice cream flavors, coffee oreo, but they had most of the yogurt flavors I like(which is healthier for me anyway, so I can’t complain) They have a parking lot, cash only.

I’ve been coming to Malden for a number of years JUST to get a Spady’s ice cream. Its delicious and you get large portions so bring your appetite. Plan on waiting in line though, especially if the staff are teenage girls. Last night there were 2 windows open, both servers were serving their friends. We waited almost 15 minutes because they were all chatting.(and we were 2nd in line) Then we realized that the customers got their ice cream for free. There were 6 of them all together. Maybe the prices would be a little lower if everyone paid for their ice cream. All in all, it was worth the wait. The ingredients are fresh and you can see everything being made for you.

Love this place, love their slush. My rec is to get half cherry half lemon(or maybe lime if you’re feelin crazy!!). Parking can be a pain on occasion, but the many flavors, great taste, and often late night hours can’t be beat! Yummm!

Located in the midst of a random Malden street, Spadafora is definitely a place that cannot be ignored. Especially after you’ve taken a bite from one of their numerous slushes. Ranging in flavors from the classic watermelon to lemon, lime, and many others, each is very fresh and features a perfect consistency. Sure you could argue that they aren’t all that healthy, full of corn syrup and sugar, but hey, who cares? On a hot day you simply can’t beat such a delicious treat. And while I’m a big fan of Richies, this place is terrific as well. However do note that there’s no parking and you’ll have to find street parking, although that wasn’t too difficult on my trip there. And they also have ice cream but do yourself a favor and get one of their slushies instead. They are neon colored, house-made and refreshingly wonderful. Oh and best of all, affordable.

Oooooh! So good! I got a large slush, half almond/half banana. The almond was the STAR. Delicious, refreshing and CHEAP! $ 3 for a huge cup, I even put some in the freezer and had it later and it was just as tasty. Too bad I waited until the end of summer to try this place. I’ll fit in a few more visits for sure!

I am addicted to the almond slush!!! Super fantastic is the only word for it… I grew up with home made italian slush stands down in the Merrimack Valley and this place puts them away man… do yourself a flavor and jaunt over to Spadafora’s for the best slush anywhere… and the help has always been nice even taking pictures for me! Five Stars *****

Me and the roomie went here because we had tried all of the other ice cream stands in the area and wanted to try something new. We were going to go to Dairy Maid but she is not fond of Richardson’s ice cream. I laughed when we got to Spadafora and they had a Richardson’s ice cream sign. She opted for a piña colada slush, which she loved, and I got some type of concoction with peach slush and vanilla ice cream mixed together, which i loved. So we both were very happy campers. It would have been nice if the people at the counter did us a favor and at least attempted to smile or make us feel welcome.

Spadafora is a local shop on Highland Ave in Malden. Like many other businesses in the area, the Spadafora name is attached to this product. They sponsor many of the local youth sports teams and are always a large supporter of various other groups throughout the city. Gotta give them their props for that. Now for the products. The slush is good, however it is not in my opinion the best in the area. Richies has that title wrapped up! The ice cream is tasty and the variety is also very good, which is interesting. It’s the same ice cream served by another shop in Malden, but less expensive here. Kinda makes you wonder about the other place. Many people have commented on the staff and their«not-so-bubbly» personalities. I have honestly run into this a few times myself, but you have to look at it from their point of view. They’ve probably been slinging slush and ice cream all day, putting up with people(and let’s be honest, we’re not ALL charming). People, especially hot and cranky people looking to cool off with an ice cream or slush, can be real indecisive jerks! Just a reminder folks, it has to be cold in a place like that, which can’t be the most pleasant environment to be working in. All in all, this is a good little local shop and we should support it whenever possible.

This place is expensive, not very good, and the girls that work there are not very pleasant. I recommend spending your money elsewhere. For a good ice cream place in Malden, head over to Dairy Delight.

Homemade slush!!! There are a serious number of flavors and for the price you could easily try them all! Lemon is a classic. Watermelon is wonderful. I recently tried pineapple? Delish. Spadafora Slush is far better than Richie’s and is worth the trip every time. The ice cream is(I believe) from Richardson’s. The flavors are also plentiful and tasty. The sizes are serious and the prices are so nice. This place will make me happy for many summers to come!

I’ve had slush at many places since I first ate Spaddy’s slush. I can safely say that no slush has come close to these guys. I grew up on Spadafora Slush! They’ve moved a little bit down the street, but they’re still awesome. It can be the dead of winter, and if there’s Spadafora Slush available, I want some!

Personally I have never had the ice cream at Spadafora. But for good reason. I can never turn down their slush! I am a huge slush fan, and no matter where I have it I am always a little disappointed because it never lives up to Spadafora. I highly recommend my personal favorites of grape, coconut, and piña colada. They have countless flavors, and I have tried most of them, but I always end up back at these ones.

Trust me when I tell you about the best drink of the Summer. Lemon flavored slush– Add your favorite vodka(Grey Goose would be mine) The real Italian Ice!!! This place is fantastic. Mango slush if they still have it, is so sweet and delicious, you will crave it. Adding some kind of coconut flavored Malibu rum can’t hurt either **wink wink*** The staff is super friendly, and fun, and the quality of the slush cannot be beat!

I swear to God, they added crack to the slush! Being new to the neighborhood, my neighbor took me by Spadafora a couple weeks ago for a mid week treat. I got a sunday, advertised as the ‘best in Medford.’ I guess there aren’t many places to get ice cream in Medford, because the sunday was mediocre at best. The ice cream was decent(I went with butter pecan), but they dropped the ball on the toppings: stale nuts, bland hot fudge and WAY too much cheap whipped cream(generic Reddiwhip, the kind that makes you feel like you have a leaky O2 tank in your bowels). But then my neighbor let me try some of her slush, and let me tell you, it got my Spidy sense a-tingling! Spadafora has, hands down, the best slush or non-ice cream frozen treat I’ve ever had. It has the perfect ratio of ice to syrup, so every bite is rich and flavorful(not watery like ice pops), but it’s not overly concentrated or too sweet. The ice is ground so finely that it has a rich, creamy, almost yogurt like consistency(no hard chunks of ice), but it doesn’t instantly melt into a syrupy beverage. And a $ 2 medium slush seems to be the perfect serving size for an evening desert after a long, hot day. Ever since that night, I haven’t been able to stay away. Every time 9pm rolls around, there’s a little voice in my head whining, «I want slush!» So every other night I find myself knocking on my neighbor’s door, asking her if she wants to walk down to Spadafora for slush. I worry that I might be becoming that obtrusive next door neighbor, but every time I ask she grins and jumps up and down like a four-year-old, so I guess we’re okay. BTW, it’s CASHONLY. Also, there’s a couple picnic tables in the back, but there’s no indoor seating.

I saw kids out front of here when I drove by this evening, my signal that it has reopened for the season! I love this place. update: ok so i am not a fan of richardson’s(bland) ice cream and i have been having bad luck with the slush and the girls at the counter have been pretty blah.
