I have gone to Salon Couture multiple times and I’m NEVER disappointed! The salon itself is chic and cozy and the staff is wonderful. Lauren B does my hair and now that I’ve been there, I’ll never go elsewhere. They stay on top of new trends in styling and always know exactly what I’m asking for. Unlike some salons that seem to be stuck in the ‘90s with their outdated styling … I know I can trust my hair to the talented crew at Salon Couture.

Do yourself a favor, save some money and DONOT go there! After reading positive reviews and looking at their Instagram i scheduled an appointment with Lauren B, and when i left my hair looked OK but after i washed it a couple of times my hair was ORANGE. I called the salon back and they said it was normal(i have light brown hair, and have been highlighting my hair for over 10 years and this never happened before) so they told me to go in so they could try to fix it. When i got there everyone had an attitude about it and all she did was put a toner on it. My hair is still orange 5 months later as I’m still trying to slowly fix it. Very disappointed, will never go back there.

I rarely write reviews but felt the need to on this one. Being a hairdresser myself I took one of Tinas classes and really liked her technique. I decided that I would treat myself to a day of relaxation and to be the client for a change. I waited 3 months for my appt with Tina. When I got there I showed her the picture of the caramel balayage ombré i wanted. 3 hours and $ 300 later I was done… and platinum blonde. Only the first 4 – 5 inches of my hair was dark and the rest was completely blonde. Tina styled my hair and overall I thought ok it looks nice i just need a little makeup and a little getting used to. So I went home and started playing with it. I found many bleed marks and a big blotch mark on the left front side of my head so bad that i wouldnt be able to wear my hair half up. Theres NO way she didnt notice this when blow drying. still at this point I was only slightly aggravated bc i just figured no problem ill just contact her and ask her what she used on my root and ill fix it myself. I called the salon and never got a returned call so i proceeded to email her INCLUDING pictures of the blotches in my hair and here we are 6 weeks later and I have not heard a peep. Now although i know it is not typical for a stylist to share her formula she knew i was a stylist as well bc i took one of her classes and since she messed up i thought she would have the decency to at least respond. Not only did i tip her well i also tipped her assistant well even though what I got wasnt anything near what I had asked for. I know people just have off days but the fact that she couldnt even respond just shows that she doesnt value customer service and quality of work. Judging by other reviews it seems like this is an ongoing trend with this salon. It is really sad bc the salon is beautiful and I really wanted to have a positive experience and now I will not return and will not recommend to anyone. there are plenty of salons out there that you can pay the same and get quality work and respect.

Best salon in Mahopac by far! I had went to another salon in Mahopac where they screwed up my hair so bad, i wanted bayalage/ombré I basically was walking around with orange, dry dead hair from horrible products they used that’s how bad it was! And the worst part my hair was so uneven. I waited 3 months to see Tina, she then saved my hair and gave me the most amazing bayalage I’ve ever had !!! So happy, salon couture is definitely the place to go for all you hair needs. I finally have gorgeous hair, and couldn’t be happier !

I have never Unilocal about any place before but I traveled 2 hours from the city to try out this salon after it was referred to me and had all these great reviews! My stylist was Lauren B, she was very sweet and professional. She seemed like she completely understood what I wanted which was an ash blond color done in an ombré /balayage application. I told her I did not want brownish blond color because it will come out brassy/orange since I have brown hair. I showed Lauren pictures of what I wanted from the salon’s Instagram. After the color was applied I realized it was looking like a highlight application nothing like the picture, I question her and pointed this out and was told it looks like that because it’s highlights. This is exactly what I didn’t want!!! When the gloss was applied she told me it would blend the color more with my hair– which it did a little bit but my hair color was nothing like I asked. She then tried and blow-out my hair. Over all everything looked good in that dim lighting but it just was not what I wanted. When I got home I realized my hair color was sooooooooo brassy and the application looked like a single color highlight application. The blow out itself was horrible! When I flipped my hair the inner parts of the front of my head where curly as if I went to the gym and hid the curly hair with my bangs. The next day I called and asked to see Tina since shes one of the owner of the salon and known for being a good colorist! What I was told was Tina only sees new clients Tuesday or Wednesday and she couldn’t see me until the end of July on a Wednesday at 11am(because apparently people don’t have jobs these days!!!) On top of that I was told that if I had seen Tina she would have told me that the color I wanted would not be achieved since I have dark hair. There was no apology, no regard to my poor experience or to the fact the I had just paid $ 250 for exactly what I said I didn’t want. Maybe Lauren was having an off day but too bad it was at my expense…250 $ for the worst orange looking highlights!!!

I love Gina. She’s awesome. I always feel beautiful when I leave and look forward to my next visit. She’s always taking care of my hair and the damage I’ve had to make sure it’s healthy. Love her.

I’ve gotten my hair done here by Lauren B and it was nothing short of amazing, she’s not only a great stylist but her personality matches her amazing work! As a fellow stylist from upstate NY I went to a color class hosted by Tina and learned so much, she honestly is an outstanding person and artist! You can tell how thankful and devoted she is to her work, clientele and staff! I highly recommend this salon to everyone!

*UPDATE* I was so happy with my previous results here. The only thing I am a little disappointed with now is that when I wanted to dye my hair back brown I was priced the same amount I paid for full balayage highlights, haircut, conditioning treatment, and blow dry. Which I think is ridiculous! *** Also I was told balayage doesn’t go to the root I always felt like my hair didn’t look«right» after my second visit, you can’t see it in the photos but when I got home and looked in the mirror it really bothered me. I googled about balayage and no where do I see that it can’t go to the root just it was a technique on how to do the highlights. BUT never were these highlights painted on. The first appointment she did my hair was with a regular color brush and foils… and the 2nd time she did the same thing just without the foils. So I pretty much paid for a full head of regular highlights that never touched my root.

**BEWAREPLEASEREADWHOLETHINGFORYOUROWNGOOD!** But before I start, When you have bleach in your hair your hair structure is being weakened by the bleach. Brushing hair during this time, even with a wet brush can damage and break your hair. The only way to truly balayage is to hair paint. Go ahead google it if you don’t believe me. My first visit to salon couture was amazing my hair looked fantastic and I could not have been happier. A few months later I went back to touch up my roots with«balayage». [balayage is hair painting what was done looked like foil highlights but with ought the foils] I loved my hair still, despite the slightly brassy look most of the salon girls are partial to but i figured I’d wash my hair with some purple shampoo and all would be fine. The next day as I was straightening my hair i found bleach spots and brush marks and I realized my partial was completely uneven! Chunky highlights on one side and thin ones on the other. So I called and they were super helpful about getting me in right away. During this whole process I had brought my son[8 mo old] with me and I was fifteen minutes late [I thought my apt was at 10 not 945 but how was I to know no one ever called to confirm!!!] so they said it was because she was rushing and«these things happen». I felt guilty and apologized a million times over because I felt like it was my fault. When I returned to the salon highlights were added and then a toner was put over my entire head to even out the brassiness. However, when the hair artist said this was her plan of action I questioned that everything would be the same tone because i would have new highlights and old already glazed highlights getting all the same color. She assured me bc it went over the entire head everything would be fine. CLEARLYSOMEONEDOESNTKNOWHOWCOLORSMIX. YES A COLORISTWHODOESNTREALIZEDIFFERENTCOLORSWILLMAKEDIFFERENTRESULTS! As I was awkwardly blowdrying MYOWNHAIR in a chair bc they didn’t book me for a blow-dry i realized she missed a spot! and went back to her and she quickly put a lowlight in of ‘my natural hair color’. My hair was rinsed again and I just left because I couldn’t deal with the being ‘shamed’ to blow-dry my own hair. When I got home from my second visit to the salon and my hair was beginning to dry I realized the extra highlights she put in were all the way to the root when my original color was not! I WASUNEVENAGAIN. And to top it off all the tones were different! Some were still a brassy orange, some an ashy purple, and the front of my hair in natural daylight GREEN! I was mortified!!! Two days later I went to STATIC in White Plains where I got this mess taken care of After FIVEHOURS of highlights lowlights and three glazes to even out the mismatched tones I am happy with my hair. I will never return to Salon Couture again!

I am soooo picky about my hair/hairstylists/salon and I wouldn’t trust my hair with anyone else! Everyone at Salon Couture is so talented and leave you feeling like a new person! If you want a killer color, the owners, Lexi and Tina are your gals, but I would highly recommend Lauren B! She did an awesome job for me the other day(full balayage and asymmetric longbob) Plus, she is so down to earth!!! She rocks!!! {Side note: I drive 70 miles each way to get here, soooooo worth it, trust me!}

I’ve had my hair done by both owners, Lexi and Tina. It looks gorgeous each time and the blond is unlike color I’ve gotten anywhere else. Their salon is beautifully decorated and all the employees are young ARTISTS and very friendly. They have a real concern with keeping the hair heathy, as well as providing the latest in style and technique. Because both owners are so beautiful themselves, I think some of these negative comments seems to be from insecure, jealous girls. It’s clear to see on their Instagram and from my own experience that they know what they are doing and are very advanced at their ART.

Disgusted! Only giving them a star because I have to. Absolutely horrible!!! The owners of this place has no sense of customer service what so ever. I literally felt like was visiting a business owned by uneducated children. I walk in and I was never even greeted, was told by Tina to «sit in her chair». She insulted my look of what I in visioned of getting, I sat in the chair for over 20 min before even getting seen, and all they were doing the entire time in front of customers was bad mouthing/gossiping about other girls. SOOUNPROFESSIONAL!!!

I had gone away to college for four years and come back home and didn’t know where I should get my hair done anymore. Thankfully I found Salon Couture and my hair stylist Lauren Baviello did an AMAZING job on my hair — cut, ombré, and blow dry, and it came out exactly the way I wanted it to. Salon Couture is a small salon right after where Route 6 and 6N split in Mahopac. It’s clean, updated, modern and from the two times I’ve been in there so far, very busy. They don’t just cut hair — they do manis, pedis, makeup, etc. I know there seems to be a billion hair salons in Mahopac, but you should schedule something with Salon Couture because it absolutely worth my while. And ask for Lauren B. She did an amazing job for me, and I’m sure everybody else does quality work, as well.
