Blue Remedy

I emailed thru Unilocal and Alexis, the owner, got back to me almost instantly. I was greeted by the receptionist and Nicole showed me to a chair and offered me a refreshment. Alexis came up to me almost instantly and we talked about what I wanted. I had 3 or 4 photos to show her and she went to work… it was if she knew EXACTLY what I wanted. I have been having my hair colored for 30 years from Manhattan to Paris and I can honestly say that Alexis got it PERFECTLY right the first time! Color, cut and blow dry .all very well done! Rare gem! I was well taken care of and will be back again and again!
PS.And.the scent of the place is heavenly ;)

Love, love, love, love Blue Remedy! It was recommended by a friend but it took a scheduling mix up at another salon for me to try it – as a walk in. They couldn’t have been more welcoming, professional, friendly and accommodating! I was so pleased with the color that Ava selected for me and she was so friendly and patient. I came back for a scheduled appointment with her and a big haircut change. Not only did she discuss style options and pros and cons via pictures and experience but she gave me the PERFECT cut and style. I am so happy and can’t recommend them enough. It is a lovely, serene, clean and zen-​like salon right in the heart of Mahopac. I would travel quite a distance for Ava and this salon and on top of it all it is very reasonably priced!!!

I am ecstatic about finding this place! I walked in for the first time and was treated as if I was a regular. No waiting and didn’t even have an appointment. I am a Latina and I have super curly hair so I usually get my hair done at salons in the city because I prefer roller sets. I was introduced to Gisela who is Dominican and in my opinion very hair talented. She cut my hair, did my roots, and yes she did the roller set and stuck me under the dryer :-). Gisela and everyone there I found to be very attentive and made sure I was comfortable and happy every step of the way. Best of all… I couldn’t tell the difference from the city salons! My hair came out the same if not better than what I am used to. I definitely recommend this salon. A++

This place is a real great find! I got a great cut here recently from a friendly and talented stylist (Alicia). The salon is well-​run, clean and organized. It’s a cute space too, nicely decorated. I grew up in Mahopac and was back for a visit. For whatever reason, I always had a negative feeling about the businesses in downtown Mahopac. I’m glad I didn’t let that unfounded prejudice keep me away from Blue Remedy! I would come back here for sure.

Blue Remedy is top of the line hair salon. I started coming here since 2007. I’ve been seen the same hair dresser and she’s incredible. Margaret knows exactly how to style my hair. She pays close attention to every detail. I get tons of compliments on every haircut. When Margaret has been away, I have seen Alexis (owner) and Alicia, both equally as talented and meticulous about doing the best job. If you go on Saturday, you are greeted with pastries from Café Piccolo. I recommend BR for all your hair needs.

I have been coming to this salon for over 10 years, and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences. The stylists/​colorists are absolutely amazing. Gina is my go to girl since day one, and I absolutely love her, but there have been plenty of times where I came in last minute and needed to go to someone else, and every time it’s been perfect. When I came in the first time I had damaged, bleach blonde hair, and Gina must have spent at least 6 hours getting my hair back to normal. When I left it was a beautiful color that complimented my face and it was so much softer. From then on, I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. The Aveda products are great, I have changed colors and styles many times over the years and no matter what, my hair always looks healthy and pretty. It’s a great atmosphere there too which is really important to me considering I spend a couple of hours there every 4 – 5 weeks. Overall it’s a salon with great people, offering great service using great products. And for me it’s well worth the money as well as a long drive from White Plains. Although I don’t think its expensive compared to other options in Westchester, but I can’t say for sure since I haven’t been anywhere else in over 10 years! I do have to put a small warning out there, since the last person mentioned it. If you are really annoyed by occasional lateness, Gina can sometimes run late, but only because when she is with someone, she stays so focused on them and making sure they are happy, she may not notice the clock. Again, for me, it’s totally worth the sacrifice, because I know when she is working on my hair, I have her full attention and she won’t stop until I am completely satisfied.

I looked long and hard before finding a salon that I loved and this is it! Blue Remedy is an Aveda salon, which means they use only Aveda product which I love love love! They also sell Aveda products which makes it easy for me to stock up on shampoo and/​or make-​up. A friend actually recommended this place to me after I loved her haircut. Although I’m sure all the stylists are great I go to Diana and in the 4 years I’ve been coming here I have never been dissapointed. They are a little on the expensive side but honestly it’s worth it. I’ve recommended this salon to several friends who all still come here. They are always friendly at the desk, always offering beverages while I’m waiting and during my appointment. I’ve rarely had to wait more than 10 min for my appointment (I hate places that run late) and they even called me once when a particular item I had been wanting was restocked. It’s obvious they care about their customers and I like that in a business. Need a great haircut? Extension? Color? Come here! They even have an Aveda makeup consultant who comes one Saturday a month (can’t remember which Saturday) and she does a full makeup for you for free. Yes, free. Of coarse that always leads me to buy some, which is the point but it’s still nice to walk out of the salon with my hair and makeup done, feeling like a celebrity. :-)
