Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa

This review is strictly on the facial I had. Quite possibly the worst one that I have had — Ever. The employee (Pauline) giving me my facial first asked if I had any ‘concerns’. I told her a couple, which one of them she never addressed. She was so extremely rough while applying different things to my face and wiping them off. It really was not relaxing in the least bit. To make matters worse/​more odd, she applied the moisturizing mask and then turned off all of the lights, told me to «take a nap» and left the room! It was at least 20 minutes I just laid there. I was freezing! It was very dark in the room and the mask was over my face so I couldn’t see in order to find the remote for the temperature for the bed. I’m sorry, I could have given myself a much better facial. Wasn’t expecting to pay $ 70+ dollars for a ‘nap’ and for the employee to take a break. UGH! Every other facial that I have had (even at Hand and Stone, different person of course) they do not leave the room, rather while you have the moisturizing mask on is when they are giving you a massage to your neck/​shoulders. So frustrating to feel that I wasted my money on a service that I really did not enjoy.

Amazing experience. Had a facial today and will be back for a massage and another facial.

I’m by no means an expert, as I’ve only had a few massages in my lifetime, but I had a very good experience here. I thought the people were very professional, the space was nice, and I felt much better leaving than I did coming in. I ended up signing up for the membership because I can see the benefit of doing this one per month, and the rate was not super steep. I’d recommend at least giving this place a try.

I decided to go to Hand and Stone because of their price on a hot stone massage. (It was a little lower than most others in the area) I had a wonderful, relaxing experience which started in the waiting area. Everyone I encountered was nice, informative, and was so glad that I had a great first hot stone massage. I would definitely go back when I want to treat myself!

Had a great experience today. I received a giftcard from my generous boss for a 50 minute standard facial or massage.
Booking over the phone was simple and informative. Had no trouble getting an appointment time that was convenient.
Pauline my esthetician was spectacular!
She explained everything to me, and really made me feel at ease and relax. I explained to her that I am getting married in 3 weeks, she gave me sound advice about how to care for my skin these next few weeks and even gave me some ideas about make-​up for my sensitive skin (since I am doing my own makeup and my wedding is down south) after I told her about my event and the conditions of my location.
I felt pampered and refreshed.
I added on the peppermint scalp massage it was very nice.
As I left, the receptionist told me about their membership program to receive «preferred» pricing. The spa is not near my house so I am not likely to come her more than once a month. It seems the membership may only be worth your while if you get two or more services a month. I will keep my eyes peeled for deals on facebook, that seems it might be the right route to receive the best deals for my needs.

I have nothing but good things to say about my facial with Margret. She was professional, knowledgeable and kind. I was completely relaxed by the end. The owner was professional, kind and helpful. I learned a lot about my skin and how to better care for it from them both. The space was calm and smelled good. My sister goes regularly and wanted to treat me to a facial for Christmas. Sister facials! Worth checking out. They have memberships and discounts, too. I live in So. California where these things are more expensive. It’s important for me, though, to enjoy life while I can in these small, luxurious moments, especially as I get older (49) and have no back up at home. Gentle self-​care from time to time!

I have had nothing but good experiences when I have gone to Hand & Stone. The space is well furnished, the staff is kind and very skilled, and the location is close to the places I want to go.

I stopped into this beautiful spa for a little R&R and I ended up receiving the BEST facial I’ve ever had from Jody! She is my new go to person to ensure my skin keeps glowing:)

I’ve been here a couple of times and each experience has been mediocre. The woman who is often at the front desk (I believe she is the owner) is always very kind and welcoming and the space itself is beautiful. The services I’ve received, however, have been medium to poor. During the first massage, I had an extremely chatty gentleman. The second massage, done by somebody different, felt like a combination of being pinched and tickled at the same time. Based on other reviews, it seems hopeful that I simply have not seen the right person just yet.

My husband and I had a couples massage here two days ago, and will definetly NOT be returning. Both of the masseuses we had did not focus on the areas we asked them to. Had to ask for adjustment of pressure several times. There should be guidelines of where you can and can not massage up to the clients comfort. I just felt uncomfortable for most of the massage.

Had the best facial! Pauline is magical! Most relaxing facial. This place is tranquil, clean and relaxing! Can I say relaxing again? Lol. My skin in glowing!
