All I wanted for my birthday was some dolsot bibimbap. This place was amazing! Friendly awesome service and great authentic Korean! Go here!

Very good, clean Korean food. Everything on the menu is good. Place is little small so not great for big parities.

Excellent Korean food, really glad we tried it on a whim!!! Really enjoyed the steamed pork meal, the taste of all the dishes here were all very special & well executed! Also ordered a seafood pancake, tasty beef bulgolgi & Kimchi. We ordered to go, and all the food was packaged quite nicely with very generous amounts of food. For sure we will come back for more if we are in the area!!! Great food, highly recommended!

I love korean food… And this is one of the best places I’ve been to. Though a bit pricier than most korean places, it has a decent amount per serving and service is also good. Their hot stone bi bim bop came out hot and steaming, and it continued to stay hot even when I finished. The soon du boo combo with the spicy octopus was also good on a cold rainy day. My boyfriend is picky with his soups, and he also gave it a thumbs up! Octopus was also good and filling, not to saucy like other places and not too much of onions. Their side dishes also had good variety from kimchi, spinach, raw crab, spicy cucumbers, etc. and they serve you hot tea automatically. Would come back when in the area or when free!

Had a side with the fermented blue crab and thought the spicy sauce overpowered the blue crab. I may have to try the actual dish. I love that this restaurant has the pork slices with daikon and kimchi wraps that many Korean restaurants near me don’t have. Service is pretty fast and the food is decent.

it’s kind of a normal Korea restaurant for family. We tried the beef rib, pork bone soup, sea food pancake and one big dishes with some fish and lots of sprouts. Idk to say, it’s ok after I got a nice sauna near there.

If your adventurous, try the blue crab! It’s only available seasonally so call ahead. Their banchan is delicious and will refill upon request! The tofu soups here are delicious! Service was very attentive.

We were looking for a good Korean restaurant one Sunday and chose Sam Oh Jung from the favorable reviews on Unilocal. The restaurant is easy to miss from Hwy 99 and parking is a bit limited. The place was starting to get busy when we walked in. Soon after we placed our order, Banchan(small side dishes) was served — soup, kimchi, bean sprouts, seaweed, tofu, cucumber, potato salad and then some. Bibimbap was good, but needed more ground beef. Kalbi short ribs were excellent, but the Bulgogi needed more caramelization. We also tried their Haemool Pahjuhn — Korean seafood pancake which was very good, nice and crisp fried. As the restaurant filled up(there was a wait), the service got a lot slower. If you are new to Korean fare, this is not a good time to dine here as the servers hardly have time to walk you through the menu. I suggest doing your research on the cuisine so you have a better idea of what to order. We looked at the tables close to ours and saw a few had raw blue crab marinated in soy sauce and some sort of hot pot. Maybe next time, we will be more adventurous and try them!

I totally ate here. As soon as I walked in I began eyeing other restaurant goer’s plates. The other restaurant goers seemed uncomfortable with this, but I wanted to get some idea of what the food looked like. It looked like I was in the right place :) I order a combo for 23.99 that came with a large bowl of soup, spicy bbq pork, rice, and various ban chan stuffs(I ate the left overs for dinner). I was very happy. very very happy. I was really so f*@king happy… I will go back here… as often as I can get myself up into my little electric vehicle and out to Lynnwood. My waitress was terrifying. I feel like I should mention that. She was stern, cold, and just a scary person.

I got the bibimpap and yuk gae jang. Both were delish and I love the side items. The kimchi was on point! Great service and will definitely be coming back for more.

I came here twice in six months for the slow cooked pork belly. Unfortunately, the taste has changed. I remember the pork belly were cut into thin slices and marinated well. However, this time, it tastes like they were just boiled pork belly. Couple with the side dishes and sauces, the dish actually tasted fine, but not as good as the first time I had it. On the other hand, I really like their bibimbap — the over n’ easy egg is cooked to perfection. Overall, I think Sam Oh Jung is a decent Korean Restaurant.

Like most non-Koreans, we looked up on our phones to see what some dishes were. The one thing we really enjoy about this restaurant is the different stews and casseroles that we can’t find at many of the other Korean restaurants we go to. We decided to order the seafood pancake and yanggopchang jeoungol. I honestly think they make the best seafood pancake I’ve had in a really long time! The seafood pancake here has a crispy crunchy texture packed with shrimp and octopus bites. The yanggopchang jeoungol is a spicy beef tripe casserole served over a portable gas burner to keep it piping hot! There’s also small chunks of beef brisket, intestines, tong ho, enoki mushrooms, king mushrooms, zucchinis, carrots, napa cabbage and jalapeño peppers cooking in the spicy beef broth. They give you a side of noodles to cook in the spicy beef stew but we never got there since we were so full. The soup base has just the right amount of spice and is very flavorful. I think the food we got was more than enough for 4 – 5 people so we packed up more than half of the food to go. If you’re not too adventurous, you can try their pork bone and potato stew(gam ja tang). They are very generous with large side dish portions and these side dishes are some of the best I had at a Korean restaurant. It would be nice if they stopped by our table to check how we’re doing and refill our empty glasses but that wasn’t a big factor for us.

Now the Korean places in nc aren’t as popular as they are in Washington; but dang, this is a nice Korean restaurant! I got the dol sot bi bim bap and I was really happy that they were more than willing to make it vegetarian for me. The side dishes were good, Kim chi seemed very fresh. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I didn’t find the service to be bad. Our waitress was friendly and told us to press the call button whenever we needed her. When the call button was pressed, she always came promptly. This is a solid place to get Korean food and I would definitely return.

Very solid soup/stew place. I like the tofu soups, and my husband really loves the spicy pork or seafood soups. The latter two come in a huge pot atop a gas stove. I find them a little too spicy for me, so I usually can stomach only a little before my mouth goes numb. We don’t come here often because it’s a little out of the way for us, but it’s definitely one of the better Korean places in Seattle.

Good food, good prices, and nice interior! But the service was a bit slow and Lynwood is super far I ordered the seafood soondubu jjigae which was super good and filling! I also tried my friends dolsot bimbimbap and that was also good! And the Mandy gook! Love the fish cakes inside! I think I’ll order that next time! I just wish this restaurant was closer!

I was so excited to try this restaurant once I saw the pictures of the pickled blue crab on Unilocal.I am from the East coast, and I dearly miss blue crabs, so it seemed like a treat to find this dish here. We ordered the combo that offers the pickled blue crab, kalbi and dweng jang chigae. Unfortunately, I just didn’t it find it worth the money. The best of the combo was the chigae, and that is because they flavor it with clams. It is also thick the way I like it, more like a stew and less like a soup. The pickled blue crabs were just ok — the quality of the crab seemed fine, but the soy sauce seasoning was lacking flavor. The paltry portion of kalbi was almost laughable, I couldn’t believe the small serving. We also tried the mul neng myun(cold buckwheat noodle soup), which was very disappointing. Sam Oh Jung is not one of the area restaurants that boasts its own noodle making machine. While ordering, we had asked the waitress to put in the order for the neng myun later so that the noodles wouldn’t sit around and get mushy while we ate the other food. Unfortunately, it came out with our other food, so it did indeed sit around for most of the meal. Service was harried and rushed — our paid check including the credit card went to another table.

I came with my wife on a Monday evening, and there was about a 5-minute wait, which wasn’t too bad. First tip — use your call button as much as you need. We didn’t realize this until we had been seated for a while and were still waiting for someone to take our order after an inordinate amount of time passed. The second we hit our red call button, a waitress came and took our order. Same goes for asking for more bon chon, getting water refills, asking for the check, etc. I wanted to order the Kalbi(BBQ Beef Short Ribs), but our waitress said they had sold out. Sad face. I got the Spicy Bulgogi instead, which was only ok. The flavor didn’t really stand out, even though the meat was nicely charred and not super fatty. My wife ordered the Soon Du Bu(Tofu Soup) with seafood, and there wasn’t much special about it. The amount of seafood was good, and the tofu was nice and soft. The flavoring was, again, so-so. We also ordered a seafood pancake, which was decent. There was a good amount of seafood in the pancake, and the exterior was crisp with a soft(although at times borderline-mushy) interior. The bon chon was underwhelming, unfortunately. I enjoyed the kim chi, but that was about it. Pricing was a little steep for what we got, but it is what it is. Many people seemed to have hated on the service here, but like I mentioned before, if you use the red call button, the waitresses will be there quickly. Otherwise, they won’t serve you. Overall, it was a so-so experience. If I’m in this area again and in the mood for Korean food, I’ll probably be trying another place.

Had the Galbi Tang but wanted the Neng Myeun. The AC was cranked up way too high for the latter, unfortunately. 3 stars for the overall experience not really having anything negative but nothing compelling enough to drive all the way back. The Galbi Tang(rib soup) did seem to be a little more generous with the amount of meat then average but again, nothing really memorable. The fried fish seemed popular and I’d come back for it and the Neng Myeun, truth be told. Maybe just bring some good socks and a sweat shirt.

Sam Oh Jung fills the crab-shaped hole in my boyfriends’ heart with their pickled Blue Crab specialty. They are the only Korean restaurant in Seattle who specializes in this dish. It’s not available depending on the market for blue crabs so I recommend calling in beforehand. And for those new to this dish and interested in trying it, I will say it is not for everyone. It is a taste of raw and fleshy, 24 hour soy sauce pickled blue crab. Many with the native tongue often yearn for a taste of this dish after leaving Korea. We usually order the Blue Crab set that comes with the Daengjang Chigae(bean paste soup) and a side of Kalbi. The one time they didn’t have the crab, we ordered the Stir fry Octopus which had fresh cuts, non-stringy(stringiness is characteristic of frozen octopus) with just the right amount of chewiness. Their interior boasts a lot of salt crystals which are thought to instill health benefits. A more traditional restaurant for Korean foods, I definitely recommend their many choices of formal dishes.
