I tried Chicky Pub for the first time today. I decided to try the half regular fried and half sauced. It’s supposed to be 6pcs of each kind, but it’s actually 6pcs of cut up chicken portions. maybe the wing and drumstick is still in their actual form, but the rest is cut up pieces of thigh and breast, which is deceiving when you read the menu. Okay, the regular fried is alright, not very seasoned nor salty. kinda plain tasting. The sauced one is a taste that I cannot really put my finger on. Maybe it has tamarind and some chili sauce, but it’s not very tasty at all. I read all the hype about this place, but I was disappointed. The price is on the high side, but I thought I was getting 12 pcs of chicken for $ 16, but instead you get mostly cut up portions of chicken which they consider a «piece». I know they want to make money, but at least give me a piece of chicken I can recognize !! okay, I recognized the wing and drumstick, but if you are going to give me an unknown piece of chicken, give me the butt ! now that’s tasty ! I probably will not go back, because of it’s taste and deception. I’ll go next door to eat the spicy tofu soup instead. I wish they open a Popeye’s up North Seattle.

I tried this place for the first time today. Took about 15 minutes to get my order. I got the 6-piece family meal, which was 1 small wing, 1 small drumstick, and what appeared to be about ½ of a normal-sized thigh, ½ of normal-sized breast and two pieces I couldn’t quite identify, possibly pieces by the backbone? That being said, the chicken was very tasty, slightly spicy and came with a side of radish pickles. It was $ 8.99+ tax. I’d say it would be a stretch to call this a family meal, so it is a bit expensive for what you get. But I would definitely get it again. I do have to comment on thing. Why is it so damn cold inside Paldo World? It was about 55° outside and probably ten degrees colder inside the store.

KFC is da bomb. No No, not that KFC. I’m taking about Korean Fried Chicken from Chicky Pub. This place is located inside Paldo World in Lynnwood. We sat down in the adjacent booth where another Korean tofu soup place was and saw the fried chicken menu also present. We ordered the half and half(half original and half marinated). The original fried chicken was juicy, fresh outta the fryer and filled with LDL cholesterol goodness! The marinated fried chicken was not something I expected to like but I was pleasantly surprised, it was something like a hot wing but with sweet + sour sauce type marinated. It did have a bit of kick(although I expected more from any Korean food). Take a look at the pics. I can’t read korean but oh well. From their website, it seems like they are a huge chain in Korean and now has 3 stores in USA(all in WA state. Federal way, Tacoma and Lynnwood)
