This is a classic little Italian place that is family friendly. The bread is super soft and fantastic, however the salad is typical iceberg lettuce loaded with dressing. I got their meat raviolis. The flavor was good but the tomato sauce was sweet which I’m not really used to in my pasta. The service is great and quick which is good.

Have visited this restaurant frequently for years. Food is good. The bar area is cramped. Service has always been its weak point. Wife, I and our two kids were there for dinner. Kids ordered a pizza to split. When the pizza came the kids would take a piece and put it on their plate and shake some grated cheese on it. We saw the hostess watching them she then went and got a manager/relative/owner and he stood back and watched my kids. He then says something to the waitress and she comes over to our table and grabs the grated cheese and says that my kids have used too much and the gentleman who had been watching had told her to remove it from the table. This upset the kids and wife. I didn’t want to cause a scene in front of everybody there, so we got up and left the food on the table, paid the bill, walked out and vowed never to go back. The kids were sprinkling cheese on each piece of pizza they put on their plate but it was not an extreme amount. Nothing that caused me concern. Charge me for it you have to but to embarass a family by removing the cheese shaker from the table is down right cheap.

I have tried to eat at this place twice and both times was extremely unimpressed. My most recent experience was filled with disappointment. My husband and I ordered two drinks: an angry orchard which was listed as being on tap and later we found out was in a bottle and a Pinot Grigio that was so old it was bitter to the point I had to spit it out. We then ordered a supreme pizza and asked for only peppers and mushrooms on one half of it and took off two items on the other half. When we reviewed our bill, we were charged $ 1.85 more(in addition to the way overpriced 16.95 for the pizza). When we asked about the up charge the server told us it was because we took items(7 items) off of half the pizza. I asked for a manager because we thought it seemed a little confusing to pay more for a pizza we took items off of. The server came back and told us the manager wasn’t going to take it off because we changed the pizza. I have never been in an establishment where the manager stood up front doing nothing while a server attempted to deal with unhappy guests leaving the establishment. Myself and no member of my family will ever return this overpriced and unfriendly establishment again.

I was extremely underwhelmed with Nunzio’s, and I don’t think I’ll be going back. The prices for the food were on the higher side, and range from $ 9 for a small portion of pasta to $ 80 steaks. I also didn’t get the food that I ordered, and ended up paying about $ 15 more than I was expecting to. The food was good, but the meal that I ended up getting could have been enough food for three people, not one.

the pizza and pasta is amazing! I was recently there for an engagement party, the staff was so nice! the lighting is a bit dull though. the bathrooms also need a little tlc, very dirty and all the stalls were out of tp! the place just needs to be picked up more. but the food was good like I already said.

Catered in for work. Cost twice as much as the other place we order from for the same amount of food. We got meat raviolis and lasagna. Lasagna was ok, nothing special but I really didn’t like the raviolis. Maybe I am not a fan of their sauce, but to me… There are much better places in Rockford.

Best prime rib around. I have had prime rib all over the country and they serve some of the best. Certainly the best in Rockford The person that wrote the review complaining that a prime rib is a standing rib roast and should have a bone hasn’t ordered prime rib very many places. Some will offer it with a rib as an option but most do not. If you are wanting a very tasty prime rib try Nunzio’s.

There have only been a few times in my life that I have never been able to finish a meal. Most of those were because the food was so bad that I just couldn’t eat it. Last night was not the exception. I was with 2 other friends and we all ordered the Prime Rib. It comes with pasta or soup, salad, potato or vegetable, and a loaf of italian bread. The meal was served in segments and the pasta/soup was first. I had the soup, a tomato basil, and I was very disappointed with it. While it looked appetizing when set in front of me, it was anything else but. To me it tasted like a marinara sauce. It had a mealy texture instead of a smooth soup-like one. I was unable to finish it due to the overpowering basil flavor. The next segment was the salad. There really isn’t much to say about a handful of lettuce, one piece of shaved carrot, and some croutons on a plate. I will say that I was saddened that iceberg was used instead of a different, healthier lettuce. We finally got our main dish, the Prime Rib and potato. One friend and I ordered our meat medium. Mine came out a perfect medium but her’s came out rare with some sections that looked raw. My other friend ordered his done well and it came out like dried shoe leather. Prime Rib is a standing RIB roast but there was no rib on my meat. It was juicy and cooked perfectly but it didn’t have a lot of flavor. I could have been eating a regular piece of roast beef. Two of us had the au gratin potatoes but it was more like shredded potatoes in a canned cheese sauce. Some areas were soft and mushy while otheres were crunchy and hard. We never did get the bread that was supposed to come with our meal. The only slightly redeeming portion of the night were my drinks. Both the Strawberry Daquiri and the Piña Colada were very tasty but also very light on the alcohol. The absolute best part of the night came the next morning when I had my take home double chocolate Godiva cheesecake. Absolutely divine! All in all the night was pleasant but certainly not worth over $ 100 for three of us to eat there.

This place gets 5 stars all the way! This Sinatra Steak is enough to earn this place one of the top places to eat in Rockford. Probably one of the best steaks I’ve had… ever! It is definitely unique, it is garlicky but the cut is amazing and full of juice and tastes a lot like Brazilian steakhouse picanha. Family friendly, mom/pop(not a hole in the wall and it is NOT a dump, unless you’re a snooty bastard). Very good service. Food order comes out a little unorthodox… Pasta served before the salad then the main meal is served. With that being said the portions are enorMANormous! Rockford is full of excellent choices for Italian food. This place is definitely at the top of my list to include some Chicago eateries to stop by when in town. Enjoy the pics.

I had the Eggplant Parmigiana with mastaccioli which comes with probably the biggest and best side salad I’ve ever had and Italian bread which is really good. The portion of the entrée was HUGE and the sauce was outstanding. The problem I had with this dish was the eggplant. It was pure mush. It is supposed to be battered and fried, but I honestly found it hard to even determine where the eggplant was. My friend had pizza and he said it was very good and agreed that their sauce is outstanding. The restaurant is very clean, the atmosphere is great and the staff friendly and very attentive. I will definitely go back, but probably order something different.

My first time at this place last night and I expected the ambiance to be slightly different than it was. I guess i thought it was more formal but it has a casual feel which i liked. There were only a few open table available when we arrived with mostly large groups but we were seated immediately. I ordered the NY Strip steak Sinatra which is one of their signature dishes. It came with the choice of spaghetti or mostaccioli which was in a basic red sauce and was average. The steak was great but the garlic crust on the steak became a little over powering after several bites but it was a great flavor. The au gratin potatoes were a great side and were probably the best thing i had ordered that evening. I would recommend place to friends as it has great choices for dinner but I would not get the Sinatra steak again just because it was too over powering.

For years I had driven past this restaurant but hadn’t been in until Nunzio sponsored a fund raiser I attended and donated a meal for staff. It was very good and I appreciated his contribution, so we tried the restaurant. We’ve been back a dozen or so times since, and never disappointed. You definitely won’t leave hungry, as the portion sizes are huge. The vegetables served as a side are actually fresh and flavorful; s nice change from what you get at most places. Unfortunately Steak Sinatra isn’t on my diet these days, but I miss it. I’ve tried other restaurants’ versions and none has come close to Nunzio’s. My brother thinks the red sauce is one of the top two in the Rockford area, and that says a lot! We’re an Italian American family and very selective about where we’ll eat out. When someone suggests Nunzios, no one ever says no.

It’s just as we left it 12 years ago. Everytime we’re it town it’s a go to spot. Today we had pizza & missed the steak sinatra… pizza was fluffy and tasty. All of the toppings were fresh and that’s important! Always love coming home for Rockford & Loves Park to eat what they have to offer :) You don’t know what you’re missing till you move!
