Sensations Salon & Spa

So excited to follow Matt and Shan to Sensations! The salon is professional but comfortable, clean and welcoming. Without any stuffiness. Oh and they offer everything! You want a reliable cut? You want special effects? You want a massage? You want your nails done? I think they might also have a drink for ya. They do it all. Highly recommend!

I’ve always wanted to add funky color to my hair and finally decided to go for it. I’ve never been so happy with my hair! Shan is amazing. I let her use her own judgment and she nailed it. I’ve gotten so many compliments! Very highly recommended.

Shan (Sanders) Kokas has been my hair stylist for nearly 9 years. A few months ago she moved from Kaleidoscope to Sensations. With her moving salons, it was a no brainier to follow!
Things about Shan:
–she’s very professional. If you’ve made an appointment she will always be on time
–she remembers things about you (hair color, length, style preferences). If you want special effects or want to change it up, no problem. She keeps a journal with notes so she can always recreate that cut that you loved! (But she’s so good at knowing what I love, she doesn’t even need to look back at those notes anymore). I sit in her chair and she does her thing!
–she cares about you as a person — she’ll remember personal things about you and will ask if that thing at work or in life is getting better. Going to Shan is like affordable HairApy – (a great cut and someone to listen)
–she’s flexible. Shan is willing to come in earlier than normal to fit you in if that works best for your life.
Things about the Sensations Salon:
–it’s perfectly located in the Highlands 1 block from Bardstown and Eastern (across from Mark’s Feed Store)
–plenty of easy parking behind the salon
–the interior and décor is clean, «highlands classy chic». It’s upscale-​ish, but not snoody
–they offer tea, water, coffee for their clients
–in addition to hair, they offer massage, tanning and mani/pedi’s
I was super impressed with the space and wouldn’t trust anyone but Shan to do my hair!

Shan is an amazing addition to the Sensation Salon! She really takes her time to get to know her clients, and understand what they want. She is a master at color, cut, and style. Overall, the salon was fantastic… it was very clean, and inviting.

Mrs. V: I have tried to find a Louisville salon that I like, and have tried EVERYWHERE. I change my hair constantly, and have spent upwards of $ 200, to go out with it looking exactly the same. But… not at Sensations. Missy is the best. It’s always fun conversation in the salon, and I am always happy when I leave. The reason I have continued to stay with Sensations Salon after visiting at least 20 other salons in the area is because the service I get is always excellent, they are wonderfully priced, and I am never ever scolded (as I surprisingly have been at other places in town) for coloring my hair as often as I do. :)

This place, as far as salons go, is fantastic. Yesterday was my first visit and I saw April. She does the facials, peels, waxing, etc. I had an eye treatment done and I never felt better when I left. I can’t wait to go back and get a massage (which I’ll be scheduling this week). The atmosphere was at a normal tone and fun. Everyone smiling and happy to be there. Several hair cuts were going on at the same time. I was escorted to a room with mood music playing, it was dark and calming. This salon does hair, massages, facials, peels, waxing, etc. You owe it to yourself to give them a try. You won’t be disappointed. Oh, and walk-​ins are welcome.
