I think they should hire a better receptionist/Salon Coordinator, than current one. She(Andrea) has no sense of customer respect/hospitality. The Spas belong to hospitality business and he did not have basic etiquette like greeting the customer and being polite. While I was waiting at her desk to ask her a question, she said she was on phone and need few minutes which was reasonable, but she did not follow up with me while I was sitting in the waiting area. She went on to go with regular chores of arranging stuff at nearby desk or cleaning even though she saw me near the desk. Either she must be forgetful, or needs some training in hospitality and basic etiquette which is a must in hospitality related business. Hopefully, someone from Polished Salon & Spa pays some attention to details.

After taking advantage of a Groupon for what I hoped would be a great deal, I’ve spent most of the day on the verge of tears trying to figure out how to fix the mess created by Polished. I left knowing I looked a little like the mom on the Brady Bunch; it was confirmed by my father who told me it made me look older, and then my husband came home and announced that my worst suspicions were true: I have a MULLET. I asked to have the dead ends cut off of my formerly long hair. I wanted a trim. The front and leading beyond my ears is now so short I can’t get it in a ponytail, but it’s a party in the back. It either has to all be cut off into a pixie(and I’ve never had a short haircut in my life), or I will have to have extensions. It is THE worst haircut I have ever had. And the thing is, i didn’t even want a haircut. I wanted a trim. Stay far, far away from Polished and heed your mother’s old advice: You get what you pay for.

Once again thanks to the power of Groupon, I have had the fortune of trying yet another salon in Louisville. It was pretty painless to get an appointment quickly(I think they had an opening within a week of calling and were very accommodating in getting me in when I was available.) Using the groupon was easy and they even allowed me to pay for the tip with a credit card, so that was extremely convenient! I have to admit that I arrived a bit late though because I always get so turned around in Frankfort and the salon is hidden off the main part of the street in the back. If it helps for those who are also directionally-challenged like myself, Polished is directly next to the Sassy Fox Boutique. Thankfully they didn’t complain about my tardiness, but my salonist also took her time to get me into a chair.(I’m not complaining since I myself was also late, just more making a statement of my overall experience.) My salonist was friendly, and not too chatty, actually she didn’t really talk too much at all. But she cut my hair in the exact way I described. I wasn’t a huge fan of how she dried and styled it, but when I fixed it later, it turned out how I had hoped.

Well, another less than acceptable experience tryng to get an appointment by calling and getting a message on the other end. So, I guess I’m moving down the list of what are supposed to be good salons in Louisville. Again, salons, please budget the money to have a real, live receptionist book appointments when a potential client calls to make an appointment. It is very offputting to me that they don’t think I’m special enough to answer the telephone when I call. I’m still searching for a little professionalism!

This is the best spa and salon hands down in Louisville! From the owners to all of the techs WOW! They make you feel like family, are always full of smiles, and the energy in this place is just full of happiness! They are definitely doing what they love and sharing it with everyone who walks thru the door!!!
