I’ve passed this place many, many times but hesitated trying it because the building is a bit worn down and looks run down. Well, don’t let the cover of the book fool you. I have been frequenting this place for lunch and have been ordering the black bean noodles with giant dumplings combo. You get two giant sized steamed dumplings with a side of pepper garnish where you can add soy sauce, vinegar, chili pepper, and/or sriracha sauce or any combination you want. This alone hits the spot! The waitress is very friendly and let’s me feel welcome. If you’re trying to impress someone, go somewhere else… but if you’re hungry for some good food, you found the right place! An Awesome Hole in the wall!!!

The black bean noodles are mediocre at best. There was no flavor to it really. Also, the lady who served me was quite rude and didn’t offer me any pickle radish. She offered it to all the other table except mine. Plus, I believe this place uses too much msg because I felt quick sick and had a headache after eating it. Would definitely never come back.

As a working mom it’s hard to always be able to cook at home especially when I’m exhausted from work and taking care of my 3 yo son. I’ve always been reluctant to spend on food since I can fill up my stomach with whatever I can cook at home. But the only night I decided to spend a little bit and get a delivery, I didn’t have the best experience, not even close. In the past, I’ve always enjoyed Yu Ga Né’s jajangmyun and I think ITISTHEBEST I’VEEVERHAD(here in LA atleast) and on the plus side the prices are reasonable. But the owner is such a J3rk! I WILLNEVERCOMEBACKHEREEVERAGAIN! Even if your food is not that good, I’d still come back for good customer service! but you failed to be nice. you even asked for more tip? so I gave it to you but you didn’t deserve it. the old man called me and yelled at me to come pick up the food in the street. You’re supposed to DELIVER my order!

Best jajangmyun place! I always come here whenever I’m craving for noodles and dumplings! I guess I come here pretty often, because whenever I come, the lady that works there recognizes me every time, and always tells me that I should come more often. Haha~ She’s really nice. Although this place doesn’t look elegant, the food is really delicious! I highly recommend this place. :)

Eat here like once a week. Usually get the black bean noodle and kind dumpling special. It’s really good and cheap! Lots of onions mmmmm. Always get my orders to go since I live across the street. I’ve had the spicy chicken, it was really good, too.

What’s with all these price haters… it’s called inflation and expensive LEASES in Koreatown for the business. And 3 items for $ 24 is pretty darn good if you ask me.

Reviews are correct: lady is very nice. Dumplings are clearly hand made. However, jja jang myun was bland, tang soo yook was made up of tiny beef nuggets(not a single long piece) and forgettable, as was the fried dumplings. Sorry nice lady.

4 stars for their prices and the cute little lady who seems to run the joint. Their mandoo is on point. But i guess that’s what they’re known for. Jja jiang myun is one of those comfort foods that you grow up with and no place will ever make a close enough substitute for what you really crave and need. Same for tang su yook. Theirs was a bit lacking for me… also i despise hot, canned pineapple. I would go back for the mandoo. and thr spicy chicken was decent. But definitely the mandoo.

Have you ever driven on that weird stretch of Normandie(one block south of Wilshire) where two blocks turn into Irolo and noticed a little old shack looking spot on the corner with faded images of advertised dumplings? That’s this place! Cannot begin to mention the number of times I’ve passed by with curiosity and today, when those Black Bean Noodle & Mandu Dumpling cravings kicked in I thought that’s it, I’m heading to that little hut to find out what they’re all about! Reading mixed reviews was discouraging enough to keep me away for some time and now I know why. Those Jjajangmyeon noodles were so bland. All I got from it was sweetness and zero flavor. Maybe it needed more of the salty chunjang sauce. Prefer the noodles at Cho Man Won. King Dumplings were very flavorful but the texture was extremely crumbly and fell apart easily, unable to dip them into the vinegar/soy sauce mixture and ended up pouring the sauce over it instead. Meh. Fried Dumplings consisted of the same tasty filling and were much easier to consume. I would basically return for those fried dumplings alone. Now my favorite part of Korean cuisine is kimchi. I had asked for some and was presented with overly salty and not garlic-y enough pickled daikon. But then I see the owner sitting across from our table chowing down on napa cabbage kimchi from her own personal container. WTF?! I wanted that! Regardless, the stuff she served us was so bland. Subpar foods minus the fried dumplings. They were super sweet & friendly though. Just wish the food had more flavor!

This place is close to my office and decided to try it out for lunch today. It’s a small authentic Korean restaurant specializing in dumplings. I ordered the beef teriyaki combo plate. It was delicious and made rather quickly. It comes with house salad, rice and king dumplings. The décor isn’t anything to look at as the owners goal is to serve lunch, mainly to go plates. There is a huge lack of beverage selection here. They need to work on that and maybe establish dessert! Other than that, I had a pleasant experience.

Went here with a friend to check out a local spot around where I work. After viewing many of the pictures from the place, we decided to go with the spicy chicken combo. The combo came with chicken, rice, salad, and a couple of dumplings. In my opinion, the dumplings weren’t very enjoyable. Something about the flavor combination just didn’t work for either of us. We have had other dumplings around the area and were not a fan of these. Everything else was decent, nothing above and beyond, but a good amount of food for the price. If you want to get filled up for cheap, this may be your spot, not sure if it warrants much attention in the area of flavor.

This tiny hole-in-the-wall is delicious! There are now 5+ Jjambbong /Jjajang Myun restaurants within a few blocks… One being part of a famous chain… Ive been exploring them all but went back to YGN last week and it cemented the fact that they are the best! Plenty of veggies and seafood, deep and rich, spicy broth… You cant beat it. I love the nice ol couple that runs this joint. I asked for Jjamjamyun and she told me that it’s better/cheaper to order individually and split due to price/portion. What restaurant owner tries to save you money since you won’t be able to finish it?! They are super sweet… It’s okay if you’ve strayed to the other places… But you’ll be back! Trust me!

I got the Jjam Bbong(Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup). It was tasty, and I can see why it’s cheaper than your regular bowl of Jjam Bbong. There was one shrimp, one mussel, and maybe 5 – 6 other pieces of seafood. It wasn’t too spicy, and not too salty, so the broth was pretty good. It otherwise had a lot of veggies. For those of you that ordered dumplings to go, the dumplings will most likely end up soggy if you don’t eat them within 5 minutes… especially because you are placing steamy dumplings into a small container. I ate two king dumplings at the restaurant and they were not soggy at all. Dumplings aren’t a good to-go food item.

I’ve been wanting to try Yu Ga Né for some time now. But based on mixed Unilocal reviews I kept putting off a visit. Now that I’ve tried their food I can understand the reviews. Truthfully this is more of a 2.5 star place but I’m rounding up because of the fast service and hassle free pickup. We decided to call in our order for takeout. I ordered the black bean noodle with king dumpling combo, tonkatsu with fried shrimp, and fried mandoo. It’s a tiny little place in a strip mall with ample parking. Because I’d called in our order the food was ready to go. Verdict? Meh… not that great and not that cheap. It seems prices have also gone up a bit. For 3 dishes, we spent $ 24. And while the portions are substantial, the overall quality is mediocre, not to mention greasy. Black bean noodle with king dumpling combo 3⁄5 Tonkatsu & fried shrimp combo 2⁄5 Fried mandoo 2⁄5 If this were the only Korean takeout option in the area, I might give it another try. But since it’s smack dab in K-town, it’s unlikely I’ll return.

Economic, homey, and satisfying sums up Yoo Ga Né Dumpling. The spicy chicken combo really hits the spot. This is probably the main reason why I will want to come back here again. Get the combo with the King’s dumplings(2). Even though they promote their dumplings, I didn’t think much of it compared to the spicy chicken.(Maybe I like Chinese dumplings better). This is a local mom and pop eatery in the corner of Irolo and 7th. Most people probably pass by it without giving it a second glance. And rightly so. The restaurant is not connected to any other store and borders the residential zone. Nevertheless, it’s nice to eat out without emptying your wallet. I came here on a weekday evening. There were many customers strolling in throughout the hours, so it must be welcomed by the locals. The chicken fried rice is made well… probably with love and a mother’s touch. Jajangmyeon only $ 4.99? Yes!

[Just ordered delivery… lady said«it won’t take long» let’s see. hahahaha] And she wasn’t lying :) hhaha I finally decided to use my «privilege of living in ktown» card and order delivery haha! I’ve been hearing good things about this place and surprisingly my mom told me she heard of this place as well so I thought it’s «THEPLACE» for delivery. We ordered: Jjajangmyung(black bean noodle): I think the price was around $ 5 which is REALLY cheap! But HONESTLY it wasn’t superb! Like it was really about to blow my mine but it was tasty. I really hoped they had done something to the noodles because the noodles were stuck together. haha MANDOO!(beef with leek): I LOVELOVELOVE dumplings and their dumplings were delicious! I sort of regret not ordering the kimchi dumplings but they didn’t let me down on this one! The skin of the dumpling wasn’t sticking to the box and the meat inside wasn’t scarce and it was volumptious and plenty! hahah It is delicious but i’d say you can get this quality food in another block in ktown but I give them 4 stars because the order time was serious in a speed of lightening. Our total bill was a little over $ 12. SERIOUSLY?! If I can order only 12 dollars worth of food and have them deliver it to my door then they deserve 4 stars!!! I’d have to save this place for my future lazy days and order their dumplings, I’m going to skip the noodles next time and maybe get something else. :) If youre in the area and don’t feel like going out to eat PICKUPYOURPHONE! haha I believe they don’t charge separately for delivery I THINK. I THINK. PLEASE don’t take my word for it I’ll update when I find out haha

What can you expect from a $ 4.99 bowl of black bean noodles?! For like $ 8.99 in Manhattan, you get the same amount and it tastes the same for double the price. I would def come back if I have the luxury of being able to pass out after I eat these delicious noodles… they do heavy up on the MSG– I was extremely thirsty after devouring these noodles. So good though, I wanted to order a portion of the sweet and sour pork too!
