I don’t know why I have a check in here. I have never been — oh wait! now I know — I was waiting for my son to get out of a concert at the Shrine auditorium and I had to pee really bad. I was in their parking lot. I went in and used the bathroom. I felt guilty so I ordered a diet coke. It was pretty good as diet cokes go. I do not recommend hanging out in this parking lot at night. Try it and you’ll know what I am talking about.

Eww. The place smelled and was weirdly warm and stuffy, and the chicken teriyaki bowl did not taste like a chicken teriyaki. It tasted like the weird smell permeating throughout the place. Gross. Blech. Will not come back.

Food is cheap and tastes that way. The beef is rather chewy and looks kind of like intestines. The only things on your plate that is warm is the rice. Customer service could be better as well. I’d only recommended this place if you are in a hurry and don’t want to spend much money.

I never understood the appeal of Yoshinoya. I remember first having a chicken with vegetables bowl in middle school. Neon green/yellow vegetables? It could’ve been lethal. «Never again,» I told myself. But then… college happened. And I ended up living right across the street from the Japanese chain. I avoided it at all costs, until I overheard my friends hyping up the beef bowl. Beef bowl? Doesn’t even sound appetizing. But I decided to give Yoshinoya another chance. But let’s just say, I shouldn’t have. The beef bowl is literally just fatty, bland meat with some onions over rice. No thank you! I generously gave two stars because at least it’s cheap?

Okay, this is fast food, but it’s delicious and so much cheaper than the stuff you get on campus at USC. I’ve been here two times and both times the staff were very nice. The food isn’t spectacular, but it sure beats the prices nearby. I love that they open late too; perfect for us college kids. If you don’t want the standard beef or chicken bowl, they also have different options like fish, noodles, dumplings, chicken wings, and soup.

Looks a bit janky, but so does the rest of LA. Haha I wasn’t impressed with the food at this location, everything felt bland and oversteamed. But hey, dont let me stop you from getting you Yoshinoya cravings!

Good tasty food. Try it with a side of red pickled ginger. You’ll love it.
