The food here is incredible! I wish they had another restaurant. Some of the entrees tasted better than meat!

The first time I tried to buy something they were not taking debit/credit the employees were very nice though. The SECOND time I had cash I was helped by lady with a bad attitude. I asked for the«CHIK N BEEFWRAP» She asked me if I wanted chicken or beef? So I asked her about the menu to clarify the«CHIK N BEFFWRAP» She just stared at me. The menu read $ 7.75 for the CHIK N BEEFWRAP«TAXINCLUDED» and I was charged $ 9.75 no biggie whatever I just want my food at this point. I asked for water which was labeled for $ 1.00 she tells me she forgot to charge me for the water and it will be $ 2.00. MENUPRICESTOTALLYINACCURATE. If I knew this I would have never ordered to begin with. I get my CHIK N BEEFWRAP open it and under the foil ITS3SMALLTACOS? TACOS? TACOS? YOUGOTTOBEKIDDINGME. This place was a complete fail. Spent a total of $ 12 for 3 small tacos and a water. For that amount of money you could get yourself a delicious VEGANPLATE elsewhere.

I enjoyed a Mint Julep Lemonade from here, it was very refreshing… I would have loved to try a dish, but the cost of the drink itself was enough to leave me satisfied with only quenching my thirst. I am not sure if that price was specific to the«Taste of Soul» event I was attending, but even still, 5.00 for a drink? i dnt know how good for business that is, but i hope to try some of their vegetarian dishes as thats wat drew me to stop by the truck.

@VegItUp Like others I see here, I’m not usually drawn to the vegetarian venues so my one experience with this truck very limited. Tried their sweet potato fries. They were good, not over the top great, but good. If the rest of what they make is as good as the fries I suspect we’ll be seeing this truck around for a while. There is definitely a niche for good vegetarian food in the food truck world. I’ll keep this one short since going on and on about sweet potato fries is at best difficult. I’ll just say I wouldn’t turn their food dowm…

Anyone could love the food from this truck! I grabbed a veggie burger and sweet potato fries a few weeks back. I was in a rush and only had about 10 minutes to spare so I asked woman who took my order how long it would be. She said five to seven minutes and she was right! I quickly got my food and went on my way. I loved the veggie burger and the sweet potato fries were also amazing! It was perfect for lunch. I also really appreciate having options as a vegetarian so «thanks» veg-it-up!

Went for the«healthy» choice on Miracle Mile today at lunch. The hamburger bun tasted«healthy” – with that airy grittiness that«healthy» whole grain buns have. The veggies and condiments tasted standard. The veggie burger patty – now, I don’t know Veg-It-Up’s m.o. on making their food… but it tasted kind of dried out and factory made. If you guys make your own pattys from scratch, I apologize. It’s just what it tasted like to me. I am not a vegan or vegetarian… but this burger was about the size and taste of a smallish cafeteria burger. It was just… there. I don’t plan on eating here again. There was a lemongrass tofu sandwich at a truck nearby that will get my «healthy» attention next time… or some veggie and cheese pupusas(okay maybe not so «healthy»).

The food here is pretty good compared to the usual synthetic tasting veggie fare. That being said, a raw piece of meat would have tasted great since we WAITEDOVERONEHOUR — yes that’s right — ONEHOUR for our food to appear. We tried the hamburger, tacos, and chicken nuggets. The combos that we had also came with a side of sweet potato fries and a small«chicken» salad sandwich that tasted like the real thing. The tacos and nuggets were only so so in my book but I would have the chicken salad again. Granted, this truck was catering a birthday party so they probably just couldn’t handle the crowd… even though it appeared there were at least 4 or 5 people working in the truck. Have we never heard of something called multi– tasking? And we are talking about making hamburgers, nuggets, etc… things that shouldn’t take a long time to make, veggie or not. Good old common sense dictates that if you know you’re going to cater a party then you should have some stuff premade to pass around while people are starving to death waiting for their«made to order» food. Here’s an idea… since everyone got a chicken salad already included… why not pass out the chicken salad first??? Not only did it take an UNGODLY amount of time to get your food, they messed up two of our orders. If I was a veggie person, I would have jumped ship if a fried chicken truck had rolled by since our whole family practically fainted from the wait.

The food was decent but OVERPRICED. The service was slow. The person that served me — not the nicest fellow. And they give you a $ 3.00 off upon which is meaningless because, to quote them, «we automatically give everyone $ 3.00 off»(can you smell bait and switch)?

The Veg It Up Truck offers great dishes such as tacos, philly cheesesteaks, salads, and interesting drinks. I immediately flew to the truck once I knew they had a veggie and a vegan menu. I decided to try a couple of their items. First, the Tacos which are made from beef but soy beef which include lettuce, tomatoes, and vegan cheese(extra 50cents). The taste, texture, and smell was AMAZING!!! The philly cheesesteak was the WOWFACTOR!!! I would highly recommend trying out the Veg It Up Truck. Quick Tip: They accept credit cards… two thumbs UP

I’ll keep it short and to the point: awesome ginger beer and best vegan hot dog ever!!! So glad to have stumbled upon such amazing vegan food from a food truck of all places!

As some of the previous reviews mentioned, the service is really slow and basically you just watch everybody moves in real slow motion in the truck and since you’ve paid, you can do nothing but wait. I ordered the tacos, and had to pay $ 1 extra just to have some lettuce and tomato. The filling is a little spicy and very high sodium, and you can get better tasting vegetarian meat at any Chinese supermarket. And, it’s definitely not a healthy choice. The plus side: everything looks clean, the people seem nice. But that’s about it.

Tried the cranberry mint julep lemonade as well as the pineapple mint julep lemonade. Both were really tasty but the pineapple was almost mind-numbingly sweet. A very unique and refreshing drink! Maybe sometime I’ll come back to try out their vegan burgers and tacos, seems interesting.

… that was a quick update! Very shortly after writing that post(maybe more shortly than it took it make the order it was originally about, ha) I got a message from the owner of the truck apologizing for my experience(wait + being denied the mint julep lemonade) & offering me a free combo to give the truck another chance. Well, there’s some good Unilocal service: D So, I went back the next week when they visited my office again and got my free combo, with a burger this time… I loved the Philly cheesesteak but thought I might as well try something else! Since I wasn’t paying for the rest of the combo, I paid for the add-on of vegan cheese & bacon. A vegan bacon cheeseburger… what devil thought up such a thing? Now I will have to blame this truck for causing my waistline to start expanding again(the reason why I went pescatarian in the first place) :[ This time my order was taken immediately by a very nice woman who didn’t so much as raise an eyebrow at the very nice message I received from the owner.(Worth nothing: there were 3 people on the truck this time instead of just 2) And, got my mint julep lemonade! My order was done in about 4 minutes. Pretty standard truck wait this time, I even went and found my friend waiting for her food at her truck this time!(Same friend as last time — we work in the same building so we go to lunch together a lot) Like last time, the food is unbelievable(literally — haha). The bacon tasted better than any veggie bacon I’ve ever had(usually it tastes like cardboard — for some reason none of the usual suspects(Morningstar etc) seem to be able to get bacon right!). The burger… well, if it hadn’t been a truck with no meat onboard, I would have said they screwed up my order & gave me real meat! It looked like beef(I guess there were a couple vegetable hunks in it), it tasted like beef… but it wasn’t beef?! Very good. Also, you get a choice between a «chicken» patty or a «beef» patty, which is awesome. The mint julep lemonade wasn’t quite what I expected but not in a bad way… I drank the entire thing within 15 minutes so obviously it wasn’t a problem. Also, they’re huge! Sweet potato fries were nothing notable, not especially awesome or terrible… just sweet potato fries. Really neat though is that they have vegan parmesan to put on them(and it tastes *exactly* like real parmesan). I guess my first experience was just a glitch? I hope so, because I want more vegan Philly cheesesteaks… ASAP.

Sweet! I can review a truck! Just tried this today and shared the vegan philly cheesesteak. Amazing bread, soft and chewy, perfectly done cheeze(and not the sweet-tastic daiya) and the meat was exactly like it should be(and I grew up near Philly). But the peppers and onions were a touch raw, and lacked flavor. I didn’t try it, but saw a line of people with the mint julip lemonade that seemed to be a huge hit. Worth trying for sure, annnnnnd how can you not support a restaurant based in an area that’s a healthy food desert. Congrats to you guys sharing the veggie goodness!

As a lifelong carnivore, I am usually not drawn to place like this. In my mind this isn’t food that they serve – this is what food eats. Nonetheless in my quest to try every Gourmet Food truck in So Cal, I thought I would give Veg-It-Up a try. I was expecting things like salads, vegetarian sandwiches, maybe a soup or two ut what I found is what I can best describe as «meat-shaped food». The picture of what they called a hamburger on the side of the truck. a big juicy hamburger in fact. And when they served up mine it sure looked the part. I also ordered a slice of «cheese» which is actually a cheddar-looking slice of some sort of soy product. I paid #1.00 for the«cheese» and even though my computer printed receipt showed the«cheese»(of course they don’t use quotes), they never added it and refunded my dollar nicely when I called it to their attention. Now the bun, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and thousand island of course tasted like it always does; but I couldn’t get past the soy patty. To me it tasted like an undercooked(some would say rare) burger. While I didn’t enjoy it all that much, I really can’t blame the Veg-it-Up people. I am clearly not their target market. I think people who haven;t climbed as high on the food chain as I have would probably like this truck more than I did. If you are vegetarian and vegan; you may not want to put a lot into this review. Especially since I don;t have other veggie-burger experience to compare this burger to. I can tell you that the veggie burger is 7.50 and the slice of soy cheese would have been 1 dollar more. And I can tell you the guys n the truck are friendly folks too. Surprisingly, this truck that specializes in healthy food doesn’t comply with the LA no smoking laws. They really need to have a sign posted Gourmet Food Truck #149 on my never-ending quest to try every truck in «So Cal»

Meat is murder Tasty, tasty murder. But every now and then I like to keep the blood lust down a little bit and I do have a good number of friends who just can’t live like I do with blood on my hands… and in my mouth. So I have to say that the Veg-it-up truck, while it may not be my lifestyle choice — I can get behind. If for nothing else than I can finally take some friends to a food truck and not have to hear them yammer on and on about how eating meat, especially the exotic in variety and fusion style stuff is all sorts of animal cruelty. This truck offers burgers and hot dogs. Yeah, that’s right and it’s still vegetarian. So you can The burger will run you around $ 6 for the burger itself and you can add on bacon, cheese, avocado and all that other good stuff for around $.50−1.50 depending on what you want on it. How did it taste? Well, I’m a meat eater, so to my savage taste it was just alright. But I’m sure for you flesh deprived meatless consumers it will taste just on par with any fake hamburger you’ve ever had. To be honest, the pricing did feel a little bit on the higher end of the food truck scenes, but again, you don’t often find a truck that fits a very specific dietary need, so bonus points for that and you sort of expect to pay a little more for the«healthier» variety of burger you’re going to eat. I probably would eat here again, especially if I’m showing some friends around the food truck scene as they seem to always bug me to do.
