Joe is a great piercer! He explained everything thoroughly and he made you feel calm during the whole process! Very reasonably priced too! Highly recommend!

So my friend and I decided to be spontaneous one day so we went to get piercings! We walked in and felt instantly welcomed. We were helped immediately as well. Our piercer the AMAZING Joe Black did a great job of informing Vall and I of all the aftercare and possibilities. He kept us informed the whole time. My piercings as well as Vall’s piercings are doing great and we will definitely go back to him! Thanks Joe!!!

I went with my friend to get a nose piercing and Joe was extremely cool! He was super informative and seems like he actually cares about his clients. He was very thorough and explained everything as he did it. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone. On top of the service, the prices are extremely good compared to all of the places in LA.
Last but not least, the shop is cool as hell! So much fun stuff to look at.

My girlfriend went in to get her first tattoo and Chris took care of her. He was so nice and he gave her exactly what she wanted! ¹⁰⁄₁₀ for Chris. While we were in there, I decided to get my nose pierced and Joe Black took care of me. He was super cool and made sure I knew exactly what I was doing and gave me tips and advice to help the healing process. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ for Joe Black. This shop is awesome! It was my first time ever in a tattoo shop and it was amazing. Everybody was super nice and helpful and it was great. It was pretty busy when we got in there, but we didn’t have appointment and they still took care of us, we just had to wait a bit. And at that point, it was well past closing time. They didn’t even care! We said we could come back the next day but they made sure they got to us since we had been waiting. That was super awesome! So thy stayed late to give my girlfriend her first tattoo and also let me get my nose pierced which was a spur of the moment decision. This shop is amazing and I will be coming back when I’m ready to get my first tattoo. Thanks Chris and Joe for making this an awesome and easy experience!

JOE MF BLACK. Joe has upgraded my itty bitty’s with some lovely new piercings and I’m so in love. He was the DOPEST person and treats you with respect and he definitely knows what he’s doing. He explained everything step by step and made me feel comfortable. I recommend him 1000% for piercings. You won’t regret it.

Got my lobes pierced here by Joe. He was very friendly and accommodating and seemed to know what he was doing. They didn’t have the largest selection of studs but the starter studs they had were more than enough for me. Good price, especially compared to the piercers in Westwood.

He is professional, seasoned piercer, clean and has a great bedside manner if you are a tad squeamish. Very quick and gentle. I will be coming back to get more holes put in me. The shop has great artists and great atmosphere. Highly recommend getting any kind of piercings from Joe.

Not only is the staff awesome and friendly but the professionalism is not what you would encounter at any other parlor. I came across this tattoo shop while walking in Downtown looking for a apartment. I walked into the shop and met Casey. IG @kingcaseytattoo When I met Casey I had an unfinished sleeve on my right arm. I explained to him in detail what I wanted to fix. He right away consulted with me and came up with a solution. I trusted him off the bat. Keep in mind I had been looking for tattoo artist for over 4 – 5 years to finish my arm. Nobody wanted to touch it or I just didn’t like there work. We set an appointment to have our first session. I immediately noticed the difference after our first session and new that this was going to be a dope ass tattoo. This is a picture of what he has done so for not finished. I would defiantly recommend Casey.

.. I had waited almost 30 years, but this was the first place I was ever permanently inked. It’s kind of hard to start writing what amounts to a few short paragraphs when writing about a place you dig so much. Where do you start.
Everyone here has been excellent to me. Whether it’s answering (stupid) questions about the tattoo (s) themselves, or just shooting the proverbial shit, everyone at Crimson has always been incredibly helpful and friendly. While the talented Artist I had originally started working with has since left, Casey has been fucking amazing in both his creativity & time, and has continued to put INCREDIBLE art on my arm and body. I could not recommend this place enough, and look forward to the (more than likely) rebranding as these intrepid and talented adventurers make their way through the crazy waters of DTLA.

This is the place to be get pierced and get tattoos. They make you feel like home and it’s clean and sterilize. I came here to get my nipples pierced by Joe Black. It’s my first time getting them pierced… He walked me through every step process and doing some breathing exercise. My friends and I are coming back again. Ps: he’s gentle with needles and such a gentle giant he is. Haha Cause he’s tall… Can’t wait to get pierced and get some ink. Also, they are doing Star Wars tattoo special through December 18^th. Don’t miss out!!!

Usually when I look for an artist to do a piece, I look at their work, their line qualities, and color attributes. This is when I came across Casey and his work on his Instagram and wanted him to do a piece for me.
The shop is in the heart of downtown Los Angeles and is very cool as well, as soon as you walk in, you can feel the artistry in the air. There are paintings and stickers to represent the artists and their style. It’s clean and openly spaced out.
The piece that I wanted was that of Ralph Steadman’s Hunter Thompson drawing. The details in my tattoo are so insane; highly meticulous and pristine. I’m in love with my tattoo! Casey has a steady hand and takes his time to make your tattoo is of the best quality. His pricing is great too! Also a very laid back, friendly guy!
I’m very happy with my tattoo and Casey’s quality of work. Definitely recommend if you want a great well done tattoo!
Parking is limited, I suggest finding street Parking on Main Street or Los Angeles street. Read the signs before you park too!

Je me fais un devoir de me faire tattoer a chaque endroit que je visite et suite a quelques recherché sur Instagram, j’ai trouvé Alex Holiday. Je lui ai donc écris pour discuter avec lui de mon projet et en quelques heures j’avais un rendez-​vous de cédulé. J’ai eu une bonne expérience a ce studio et Alex a été tres sympatique.
I went at the Crimson Unicorn Tattoo during a stay in Los Angeles. I always try to get a small tattoo everywhere I travel so after a few research on Instagram, I found Alex Holiday. I wrote him to talk with him about my project and within hours I had an appointment scheduled. I had a good experience at this studio and Alex was very friendly.

I definitely found my new go-​to tattoo shop. I walked in spontaneously on a Wednesday afternoon and was greeted promptly by Christos. Spoke to him briefly about wanting to get a tattoo done of a realistic ladybug on my wrist. Lucky for me, he had availabity so of course I went ahead and got inked. Christos started right away on a sketch of my ladybug after a few minor changes, and after a brief wait, a quick setup of his station I was tattooed and I was very happy with the outcome as you can see in the photo it was everything I pictured in my mind but much better. Can’t wait to get my next tattoo!

I had a great experience at The Crimson Unicorn this afternoon while receiving my first tattoo. Alex Holiday took my design and elevated it to perfection. His professionalism and care was superb. He even researched the type of shading and fur that a ferret would have! I thought that was wonderful! I would definitely recommend him and The Crimson Unicorn to others. Thank you for making my first tattoo experience a good one!
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because their website is out of date and their Unilocal page still says closed on Mondays. I looked here to see opening times and it was wrong. Also, Alex Holiday is not listed as an artist at the store on their website. Not being able to see any of his work displayed on their page made me anxious (I am a researcher by nature and this was my first tattoo). He did a great job, I just wish I could have gone in with 100% confidence. Still, his care and art made me feel a lot better once I was in the chair.

I think I’ve officially hit LOSER-​STATUS as I am writing my 1000^th review on Unilocal.
I’ve been looking to get a tattoo of a hamsa hand that I designed a few months ago, but never got around to making an appointment. In the spur of the moment I decided to call Crimson Unicorn to make an appointment and was SOOO lucky to have Mikey pick up the phone and pencil me in his schedule. Locking an appointment in with him was CAKE, and he was very accommodating to my schedule and last minute booking.
We discussed my design before starting, and he was extremely honest and professional. He made suggestions and threw ideas out there to make make my tattoo better, while still maintaining the integrity of my design. All his recommendations were GOLD because my tattoo couldn’t have turned out better. Mikey is a true artist who is experienced in his craft, can offer his professional opinion, and is enthusiastic about his customer’s ideas. My design was extremely intricate but he absolutely killed it– clean lines, meticulous detail, precision and consistency, and he keeps an immaculate and sterile work station.
We were so impressed with his work that my fiancé will be coming back to Mikey for all his future tattoos. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Do not recommend Sotie Mae. Shaky line work. She is very nice. Confident in her work. Had hoped for a simple tattoo… blew out simple lines, have to get a touch up if possible from another shop. Judge for yourself.
