Came here for Exposure Drag which takes place every Monday night. The theme of the night was Animal Queendom and the bar was decorated like a jungle(super cute!). Make sure you bring your singles when you come or you’ll feel out of place for not tipping! The announcers were very entertaining and the performers were awesome! I loved all the different costume(especially the ones that were obviously hand crafted) and they put on a great show. We parked right down the street. Make sure you don’t park in the Rite-Aid lot because they tow! They do different events almost every day of the week and I’m excited to return!

Great bar for LOUD80s &90s new wave! Came here on a Friday night, New Year’s Day, for a friend’s bday & really enjoyed the music & drinks. The dj moved quickly through tracks, but kept us entertained with all the flashback songs. The sound system was pretty good, but so loud it was difficult to have conversations with friends without yelling. The bar offered some special cocktails for $ 10& a decent selection of craft brew. There were 3 bartenders so they were able to tend to ppl rather quickly. I tried the Rude Girl & Spicy Señora($ 10, 5 stars). There was also a good amount of space to sit so the bday party managed to get a couple tables & a booth section. I will remember this bar next time I’m in the area!

On a TUESDAY evening: it was OK. Bartender was friendly enough. By 10 o’clock it was somewhat busy but by no means crowded. Mixed drinks were good, as was the beer selection. Kinda redirected s little more… Traci truck outside was great though!

The Offbeat bar is an amazing little dive bar. Been here a few times and I really enjoyed my visit here. The bartenders are awesome and friendly. Came on a Thursday night and it wasn’t too crowded just how I like. I hate going into a bar and having a hard time getting the bartender’s attention for 1 drink. Definitely not my cup of tea. Therefore, I love the fact that the Offbeat bar is low key and gives out a chill vibe. DJ was great and playing 80s music that night. Also, every Thursday they have a lady giving out free tacos. SCORE! They have a wide variety of drinks and some beers on tap. Also, they have cocktail specials for $ 10. WOW! That will keep me coming back. There are plenty of parking on the streets and you can park accross the street where Rite Aid is. Just make sure it says Offbeat parking. Overall, great place to hang out with friends. See ya later Offbeat! I will be back!

I used to live near here years ago, when it was Dusty’s. Curious about what it turned into, a friend and I recently met here for a beer. We were looking for a place to drink a beer and talk, but the flashing lights and loud DJ dance beats made that difficult. Not my kind of place, but someone else might be into it.

Great joint to have a gathering. Had a blast with friends. Great drink selection. $ 10+ for each drink. But such good mixologists behind the bar. Why not. good times.

Was in the area with a group of friends so we decided to stop by. This place is really cute and hipster esq. They have cocktails for $ 10 what a steal and they tasted great. It’s a very chill bar hangout to sit and catch up with friends. I liked that it wasn’t super crowded and had a chill environment. The parking situation is meh but you can park across the street in a far lot or just look for some street parking around the corner. I would go back if I was in the area.

I’ve been here a few times. The atmosphere is really cool. It’s used to be a pool bar called Dusty’s; but the owners really turned it around. It’s not my go-to place, but I give it 5 stars cause I’ve chatted with the owner a couple times there, and she is really nice and passionate about the bar. They also have some cool things going on sometimes, like a taco lady inside the bar, mini-sandwiches, etc. With a little time I could imagine this place gaining more appeal and being a pretty hot spot. Just had a random thought that I’d share. I imagine this place would be perfect for some sort of private party or event. It’s just the right size and would work really well for a singles gathering, networking event, birthday or company party, or anything of that nature.

We celebrated my husband’s 40th birthday party!!! Todd the owner was beyond exceptional!!! I called the venue in advance and he made sure everything was taken care of. I was running late and couldn’t put the décor up. He took care of it. We had our section reserved with ballons. He even had a specialty drink made for him. Top notch place!!! Top notch service. I swear there is no other bar lounge that would provide such exceptional service and quality. Great drinks and great place. All of our friends loved it. Thanks Todd!!! :)

It all just keeps going down hill. Summer hasn’t even hit full force yet and the place is like an oven. I actually heard someone say they told her it was because there are no windows! NOYOUIDIOTS! It is because there is no air conditioning. That must mean one of the following: 1. They never replaced it when they remodeled. 2. They did but it broke and they didn’t fix it. 3. They are too cheap to turn it on. The swampy atmosphere moves the place another star lower. .

Two stars because they still has the same curved Dusty’s bar. But no more pool tables. This bar is like a teenager who hasn’t figured out who they want to be yet except they’re super into this one thing but still don’t know everything about said one thing.

I really enjoyed this place. Its still freshly new so it doesnt over crowded like some of the other bars on york. Not being one who enjoys having to push my way the bar I much enjoyed that fact. Also the bar staff is really nice and I like their specialty drinks! Fair warn. Do not park at the Rite Aid across the street. They will tow you!

We came here on a Wednesday night and got chatting with the manager Todd and Abel the amazing bartender. We came here to scope out the place for a potential birthday party. They were so cool and down to earth that we sent out our invite that night! We got here at 9pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t too packed and we had our tables reserved and drinks were generous and priced so well. They had a live DJ and she was spinning some great tunes. We definitely will be back! Thank you Todd and everyone at Offbeat Bar for a great time!

the Offbeat is a new contender in the new up and coming area of Highland Park and it’s a pretty slick place. I’ve DJ’ed here a couple of times and I can’t complain other than the place is on it’s way to gaining notoriety as a new hot spot for 20 somethings and up. The bar is super clean and smooth, they have movie nights now, plenty of awesome dj gigs, full bar and lots of random drink specials. Parking is pretty easy to get to and that’s always one of the big perks with any spot. I’m sure this place is gonna keep on the up and up, and then be that«too cool» spot as they al become! Overall, a great little bar in a cool little area.

Great addition to the new Highland Park bars. Bartenders are awesome. Drafts are good. Lighting could be slightly better. They let us bring in food from the food trucks. Sweet..

Great upgrade to Dusty’s. We were there a few days after opening and loved it. Celebrated my birthday and Todd(the Owner) was the best host! The 20+ people I brought in to help me celebrate had a great time and loved the atmosphere. It’s big enough to have a band, a DJ or a pool table… We usually go to Johnny’s Bar on York and the Offbeat is definitely more roomy. You can lounge with friends and not get bumped into by people walking by or to the bar. The décor was right on and music on the jukebox was perfect. One downfall is the parking —nowhere but the street to park or I would have given 5 stars. I believe the Offbeat is the 1st step to bettering that side of York Blvd.
