These ladies are great cooks and very nice. The tacos are to die for. Home made tortillas yum. Best part is… walking distance.

This is not the corner for fancy foodies or fusion fanatics. But if you like freshly made corn tortillas, savory meats & dinner for less than $ 5 it’s well-worth the wait. With cabeza, carne asada, pollo and al pastor, you have your pick of fillings for $ 1 tacos, astonishingly good $ 2 mulitas(like a quesadilla but with specially made, fluffy tortilla), and enormous $ 5 burritos(I haven’t tried the burritos, not my thing — but they do look huge). The cabeza mulita is a masterpiece with melt-in-your-mouth meat, hot cheese & perfectly prepared tortilla. Their homemade salsas — particularly the cilantro avocado, are the perfect topping, along with the standard onion & cilantro. They also have marinated onions(sadly, sans carrots), grilled onions & cucumber. The ladies are quick and friendly, considering the crowds, and the cooks never handle cash so you can be certain your food is sanitary(enough– you’re buying a $ 5 dinner on the street, after all). If you live in the neighborhood, this spot should be a go-to for a quick bite on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights(sometimes Thursday) when they are open.

If you love tacos as I do than you know the best ones come from a street vendor. Tacos 28 takes the taco game to the next level by combining freshly tossed, handmade tortillas with asada cook on a traditional, straight from the ranchera grill. The grill gives the meat a nice charred taste.
