Taco Pete

I spent 43.82 at this establishment yesterday. I tried talking to the manager because they messed up on my food I was missing half of my order no one has called me back after I left a message no managers tried to contact me and when I left the review on Google review that's the only time I was contacted and at that time all you all did was try to defend your company no one has tried to help me and the employee that I talked to was extremely rude and hung up in my face no one is trying to give me my money back or fix the problem I called twice this morning no one answered so I will be contacting my lawyers and they will be contacting you all. No one deserves to be treated like any kind of way when they're trying to just order food and eat my grandmother got sick last night because she didn't have her food that's not fair and no one cares that's like stealing you all stole My money and then give me all my food and no one's trying to help so I think a legal matter is sufficient. It looks like you would pay more attention to your customers satisfaction than your reputation if I don't get any help with my order or get my money back I will go as far as I can and dedicate my whole life to this lawsuit I don't appreciate it I don't deserve it I did nothing to you all but was just trying to eat from this establishment and don't get me wrong the food is good but the service is horrible and it looks like you guys are making your money by messing up orders and not giving the money back cuz that's what happened to me I'm only stating facts I have 22 different social media sites I'm a social media influencer a Google reviewer all I wanted was my money back or for my order to be fixed and you all cannot do that I think if you want to name your company number one it should not be just about the food.

called in phone order female answered she was a bit curt but still polite I ordered 3 turkey tacos and a medium fry the lady said number 84 thank you. then hung up lol I wasn’t sure if she was talking to me or a customer in front of her but I took a chance anyway.
got there one customer in front of me trying to confirm her order that was apparently wrong by one order of fries. I then walked to the window and told the guy pictured in someone’s review as rude my order. he was polite. 10 minutes later my order was ready the guy gave me my food and politely said thank you and good bye. and by the way he gave the lady that the order was short a fry in front of me a free drink for her having to wait a little longer and apologized. so not that rude.
my tacos were so good a little greasy but I like that lol and my french fries were hot with seasoning salt I love that I’d go again

at first I went there despite the negative review and the phone order I don’t think these guys are purposely rude more misunderstood this place is a walk up hole in the wall the employees are as nice as they can be for the environment their in calm down negative reviewers.

I been going there since the late 90’s. I went there on March 1^st and was disappointed with the service I received. The gentleman who takes the orders is very rude. I ordered my tacos with cheese only I didn’t see him right it down so I say again did u get the tacos with cheese only he said yes. After standing there 15 minutes, my tacos had everything on them. I tell him I said cheese only and he says he didn’t hear me and to move so he can give someone else there food. I was so upset by his attitude. My friend went back up to window to get my money back and return there fries. He gave her my money and told her to keep the fries cause he cool. Taco Pete has lost some long time MTA employees over this. If the staff should change we will be back.

If they weren’t so rude I’d rate them 5 stars.
The food is great but the service. I mean just because we’re in the hood doesn’t mean we don’t expect great service.

Ordered on an empty stomach hoping for the best 07 Jan 2016. I got the «chicken burrito special», you know how when everything taste on an empty stomach? Well this did NOT. I’m not sure what kind of season they used, but I was for sure not feeling it at all… I don’t like beef, pretty much at all and the seasoning reminded me of the grease that leaks from beef when making tacos. Way TOO salty, way TOO distasteful.
Just not my cup of tea, when explaining to some friends of mine they suggested I
try the tacos but I’m not sure I will ever return.

Very nice place I’ve been going here since I was a little bit. Beautiful staff great home style food everybody goes here from Police. To Doctors. Lawyers etc. Everybody loves real Food. Try it

This place has the best tacos but some of the worst service. The people who take your order over the phone are rude and can barely get your order right. They always take forever and I am not sure if it is because they are made to order or they are just really slow. Today 11÷23÷15 my associate went there and got about 12 tacos and they gave us 3 hot sauce containers that were not filled even half way. She asked for more and the woman told her thats not how it works and that we had enough. Then she proceeded to go back and forth with her over hot sauce. I find that ridiculous. Normally when we go there the gentleman that helps us is very nice and accommodating. I wish I knew both of their names. They have lost our business and no matter how good the food is we work to hard for our money to give it to rude ass people.
We do love the food but will just have to go else where.

Tacos were just OK! I had turkey tacos on taco Tuesday, and they were really dry, not enough flavor, and hardly and CHEESE! Not sure if I’ll return, but I may give them a try on another day besides «taco Tuesday»

horrible service! the black guy that is always there has the worst attitude! i started going there by myself for a while then i brought my boyfriend for the first time and ever since he just been giving attitude with his ugly ass! like what are you mad for weirdo!

Ground beef burrito is what I always order.
If you come here always know what you want and call ahead else you’ll be waiting a bit.

I grew up right around the corner. So whenever I make it to eat taco Pete I feel like I’m home. The tacos are delicious and they offer a taco tuesday special! They also have more than just tacos there, I recommend the chili cheese fries.

I would give this place 5 stars but I think a fly accidentally flew into the meat as they were chopping it up. Besides finding it in our burrito the food wAs delicious and I’m choosing to believe it was the flys fault and not the restaurant. I recommend the soft tacos.

Prices are hard to read they change with every sign there is. And quite a lot of people go take food to go only

How to do you write a review for a taco stand that’s in the heart of Compton on a block notorious for drama.
Its easy most of the people that I meet in Compton are kind and out going I’m not here to judge anyone or put down the area I just want to eat people.
My sister told me about this hidden gem located on the corner of a busy street.
My order.
Turkey Taco
A fried shell filled with ground turkey onions lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. It’s pretty good but it needs more seasoning, I’m still getting used to the taste of ground turkey because I knows it supposed to be better for me.
Ground Beef Taco’s
These are my favorite filled with lettuce, onions, tomatoes and cheese and I love them.
Taco sauce
It’s not their claim to fame and I don’t care for it but most people seem to like it, a taste similar to red rooster hot sauce.
Tips
These fried or soft taco’s don’t travel well you must eat them quickly they will get soggy.
Chili tamales
Thick old school masa style beef tamales covered in a rich thick gravy and cheese it’s a bit greasy but soo good it’s definitely an occasional treat.
Desserts $ 2.50
Peach cobbler
It wasn’t good the crust was thick and chewy with too much cinnamon and way too much sugar, the peaches were tiny and mushy if those were peaches they were terrible and it didn’t have any juice it was soo dry and nasty.
I tossed it into the trash.
This is the second place I visited that had terrible peach cobbler I’m never buying it again. I give up!
Chocolate cake.
It was gummy and lacked chocolate flavor despite looking like chocolate it didn’t taste like chocolate. The frosting was way too sweet and sticky, I just couldn’t eat it.
I had to toss it into the trash.
Drinks
Strawberry soda and tiki punch soo good.
BTW
They don’t have an area to eat your food and it’s cash only.
Complaints
The young girl at the counter was really rude no matter how kind I was she had the nastiest attitude.
It wasn’t personal she was nasty to me, my sister and everyone else in that long line.
I took off a star for the nasty attitude.
This place and the food is usually great but until I visit again I can’t recommend them.
I want to be sure the food is consistent.

The food is great as always. The customer service is horrible unless it was just the idiot at the window. Unfortunately, you have to take it slow when ordering, spell it out OR say your order in super layman terms.

I went here for lunch today and I must say the patty melt is delicious! I also got the chili cheese fries and they were pretty good too. The gentleman who helped me today was really nice. I’ve been going here since 2003 but never tried the patty melt only tacos. Today’s choice was a great idea,
I highly recommend it (add mayo if you like that kind of stuff)

I’ve been eating here since I was a kid. These are NOT authentic Mexican tacos. These are HOOD tacos. They are greasy and have Louisiana hot sauce on them, but I LOVE THEM! It is not in the best neighborhood, but that really doesn’t mean much to me. The employees are always nice to me & they’ve never got my order wrong. I love this place!

WHY in the world have I not written a review about this place until now?! I pass by this place everyday!
If you’re in the mood for a homemade taco, but don’t feel like dealing with the hassle yourself, no worries, just come to Taco Pete! They have really good «ghetto» tacos (i.e-not authentic Mexican). The shells are crispy and filled with delicious meat, salsa, tomatoes and lettuce. To save yourself some time, call in your order. Grad a cold can soda and you’re good to go. Taco Pete = good stuff.

Easy and Simple review for me.
Taco Pete’s takes me back to the hood… I grew up on this block and grew up on their food. Even the Ham and Cheese sammich is crazy good! The beef and cheese burrito though, and an order of fries? WHAT?! LOL There is just absolutely nothin like it. I love Taco Pete and only TP can take me back to the hood with one bite!
