We booked the space for a fundraiser and could not have been happier. The space is awesome and they were extremely accomodating.

Reserving and paying a month in advance guarantees you nothing. When you complain they will feed you this bullshit: «My business is not to rent out my private loft to others». Then why are you on Unilocal as a venue and event space? Why do you advertise on other venue-finding websites? If I could give them 0 stars for their unethical behavior masked by their«we do what we want because ART» attitude, I would.

Ufff, I’m sorry but I’m going to have to agree with Karen on this one. It may look like a cool space but doing business with these guys you’re asking to get screwed. We’re about two weeks from an event we were going to throw here and after three months searching for a venue, a month of setting up plans with this venue, putting down a deposit, organizing a complete lineup, and 50+ people attending our event they let us know they’ve double booked and we’re just out of luck… All posts for the other conflicting event went up about 4 days ago(we had paid them for the venue 2 weeks ago) so granted I’m a bit skeptical about their story of putting us on a day that was already booked by mistake. We’re still trying to get a hold of them to figure out alternative arrangements, but e-mail, call, or text and we get no response… What kills me most about this is these guys claim the burner mentality as their flag. I’ve been a firedancer and burner for the past 5 years and the way these guys conduct themselves is about as far from that ethos as you can get. They are the artists and vendors that sell you all that cool tribal gear that keeps you trendy on the playa, but get back to the real world and they’re as happy to screw you over and throw you under the bus as anyone else if not worse. I guess tribal has just become a trendy way to dress and an easy subculture to make your money off of…

I want to respond to what the owner of Syrup Lofts said. First off, you told me you needed to rent your loft out for a movie and you needed to refund my money. You were not using it for your work you were renting out for a movie set. I also have it on good authority that you thought you were going to get more money from the movie than myself and decided to go with them instead even though we had a contract. And yes indeed we did have a contract. A contract is:1. Offer — a good or a service needs to be offered. 2. Acceptance — the buyer must be willing to have what is being offered 3. Consideration — the amount the buyer is willing to give in exchange for the good or service in the offer. All of that was done! You broke our contract plain and simple. Also it was not up to you to find me another space. You misspoke to the person I ended up renting from which caused even more trouble. Thankfully he was very accomodating and much more professional than you are. Also I just noticed this. If you do not rent your space out for parties, why does Marci J say on 6−2−13 that she went to a birthday party at your loft space. Again please do not rent from these people. They break contracts and cannot be trusted!!!

These folks are DEDICATED! I’ve watch this alternative Arts venue grow in style, services, and distinction. Going to theatre performances(Black Rock Opera was EPIC), music concerts, and recently, an incredibly fun Birthday Bash, this place is great for any Event! Delicious, fresh, innovative juice combos, often food will be catered, or a service invited(raw chocolate, anyone?, in-house Artists are showcased in jewelry displays and media gallery. Sometimes, there’s Live Painting, the ambiance has a Chill Room, smoking porch, and actually there’s plenty of street parking at this after-hours night-spot. I’ve always enjoyed my time here, never a dull moment, the crowd is friendly open-minded, and often quite interestingly costumed(it is the Fashion District!). If you’re wondering whether you should go to something here, or book it for your own adventure, my answer is YES! P. S. I love coming here, mostly because I can always find room to Hoop!

Went to a really great event here that I was showing my art at. It was an album release party and the crowd was really cool. I have a lot of great conversations, really interesting people. I am looking forward to going more and doing more events here.
