They did a great job! It seems a little pricey? I’m not sure to be honest — I only had mats cut, which I’d never done before. But $ 30 for 3 small basic white mats — didn’t even include assembling in frame — was more than I anticipated. And they weren’t ready by the date they were promised. But hey, whatever, it’s down the street from my house, he’s good, he’s nice, go small business!

No grade inflation here! This place did a masterful job repairing a picture frame that’s been in our family for 40 years. It was part of a three-painting display on our hallway wall. When the hanger holding up one of the frames broke and the picture crashed to the floor, we thought we would have to replace all three identical frames since the broken one looked like a lost cause. Not so according to Mario, the owner of Silverlake Custom Frame. He promised the repairs will be made within 2 weeks and he was true to his word. The repaired frame looks like it never fell off the hallway wall. Glad to know there are reputable and talented service people around like Mario!

TERRIBLE!!! I took in 3 professional oil paintings in hand-painted frames, just to have the backing replaced. They weren’t ready when I went to pick them up – the owner said he «forgot them.» He asked me to wait — and then NAILEDTHROUGH one of the hand-painted frames. Two nails, POKINGOUTTHROUGHTHEFRONTOFTHEFRAME. Two holes. The frame is ruined. When I showed him, he said it was my fault, because«he used the original nails.» Which WERENOT drilled through the front of the frame when I took it in. No apology, no refund for the permanent damage to the frame. He wouldn’t even wrap the paintings when I asked, just shoved them in a bag. An absolutely terrible, COMPLETELYUNPROFESSIONAL shop.

Mario made 2 phonecalls to get back to me, and had the shop open for longer hours for a few days so we could stop in. He did this, as well as made some generous offers and sincere apologies to make up for the days that the shop was closed. I appreciate that he is a human, and that these things do happen. I think the framing itself was okay. The glass moves a little, it’s not laid in super tight. But he got the job done, it’s light weight, and looks good on my wall above my drum set, which is just what I had hoped for. The price was very fair.

Mario and his team not only found the exact type of glass needed to fix my broken, beloved picture(damaged in a cross-country move), but gave me frequent updates, a good price and then DELIVERED the finished product. And it was delivered on a weekend! I can’t say enough good things about this small business. If you need a picture repaired or something framed, this is where to go.

Have taken three pictures there. Limited Edition Picasso print and two large maps. Great framing, good rates. Worked with Mario, who also came to my home and hung the pictures for a nominal fee.

Mario is great. He greets you with a smile and a handshake. Even though his store had technically closed, he allowed me to visit since he was still working. He did a great job on advising on frame, matte, and colors. He is a one man show but he produces excellent results in a short time frame. In order to meet my request of monday afternoon, he worked over the weekend to meet the deadline. The only reason I gave him 4 is because it was a bit pricey. Regardless, I will continue to visit Mario for my framing needs as he is a local business owner, and I want to support the Silverlake community.

I first came to Mario to frame about 10 posters for the local library in 1999… he gave me a great deal and I’ve been coming back ever since. For $ 20 posters and $ 2000 paintings he gives the same attention and works with you to come up with the perfect frame and matte; a real treasure for Silver Lake

Quality work. Mario, framer and owner, is so nice and such a pro! I had some Shag prints and some photographs framed here and they look fantastic. He helped with with select the right size for both the frame and the mats. If you’re not too sure what you want, but know you want it to look awesome; come here and let Mario show you the way! Oh, and he gets it done quickly, too!

For my father’s 65th birthday, I managed to find online an old bookmark produced by his grandfather’s silk printing factory. It was a rare find, and I wanted to make it very special. The guy at Silverlake Custom Frame helped me pick out a beautiful frame, and he did a wonderful job of matting it so that you could see the full bookmark on the front, with its intricate edges, and then the back was glass too, and he designed a window in the matte so that you could see the printing on the rear of the bookmark. It is the only remnant of that old family business that we have. And when my father opened the gift, he was very moved. He also commented on how beautifully framed it was. He was right. These guys did a terrific job with a complicated frame. They made something special that much more special, and I am grateful to them for doing such wonderful work. I highly recommend this business.

pretty solid framing from a local spot and — yes — reasonable prices. mario and sons will take the creative approach to your project and design a frame that truly suits the art that lives in it. for a 90s chloe sevigny photo from a ray gun magazine spread, we matched the frame to her red lipstick and for two autographed tickets from a concert, they built a shadow box. and for a double-sided print, they built the back of the frame from plexi — quite the conversation piece! i’m thinking of taking a 47×63 french cinema poster there soon. most places quoted me a price far higher than the cost of the poster! if you’re sick of aaron brothers prices but still want to give your art a classy frame, give them a shout and tell them andrew sent you.
