We went here around 6pm cause we were all hungry as heck. We got a table instantly and a server came back with our side dishes/water. The meat came pretty quick after we ordered it and they even start putting the meat on for us. The server came back to change our grill like 3 – 4 times and refilled our sides dishes every 10 – 15 mins. It was a very good experience. They even have free yogurt at the end too!

They changed their name to mong kbbq and it runs under a completely different system now. Sure they have no more AYCE but I understand why they edited the entire system. When you go for an AYCE, the meat quality is usually shoddy and you can’t expect waiters to be attentive to your need. I mean come on, you pay the same amount you pay to get a meal at McDonald’s, you don’t expect the people at McDonald’s coming over every 2 minutes to check if your burger is alright isn’t it? So yes, a completely different system now but it doesn’t make it less worth the money. They now have one of the best quality of brisket I’ve ever tried. So if you’re planning to take a client to a Korean BBQ joint without seeming like a cheapskate I’ve got to say this one must be it. Furthermore, you don’t come home smelling of smoke from top to bottom and in mong, you can actually hear yourself talk, no need to scream across the table! Service is wayyyy better than any Korean BBQ joint I’ve been to. I have been to some where they throw my food on the grill with a grunt but over here the waiters are attentive and always coming back to make sure that you don’t overcook your meat. I am a regular here and it seems like I will be for a long time!

I’m sad, Unilocal. One of my favorite restaurants has been killed and buried in the pet cemetery. It’s come back to life in a new location, with a new owner, but it’s lost its soul. First of all, a word of advice: DON’T PUT A 10% OFF UnilocalCHECKINDEALON Unilocal, NOTHONORIT, ANDEXPECT A GOODREVIEWFROMSOMEONEON Unilocal. Can you imagine just how bad things must be on what you don’t see if no one in the whole restaurant can figure out that simple rule? I’m actually in your restaurant, showing you my Unilocal page on my mobile phone. I’m a Unilocaler! I really will review your restaurant! Hello? We rang up over $ 140 on the bill! Last chance! No??? Next, don’t forget to bring our nang myum which was included in the combo. Finally, be more attentive, or staff more. If we try to catch the eye of a waiter walking by the table more than three times, and all waiters avoid eye contact, we’re not fooled. «Oh, I guess they didn’t see me. Three times.» Dammit, I’m usually a very positive Unilocaler. At least I still have the good Shik Do Rak out in the valley.

I read a ton of mediocre reviews of this place and was hesitant to try it even though it’s the closest KBBQ to where I live. BUT! It was good. Their cheap $ 9.99AYCE had the basics and that was all we really wanted. The sides were delicious. The staff was good. And everyone was friendly. I’ll definitely be back!

Essentially the best Korean BBQ in the valley(unless theres some gem on the ventura strip i don’t know about) hot sauce is legendary and the meat quality is good. 5 stars, nothing wrong with this place, except no Yuk-Hoe(Steak Tartare)

Great food, reasonable pricing, fairly good service. BIGPLUS(at least for me): Bathrooms in good working order and CLEAN not like some other restaurants in the area. Exhaust fans at the table work well so you dont get HOT like other KBBQ spots in K-Town. I would highly recommend!

The only thing that’s good about this place is the price. $ 10 all you can eat is a good deal so there’s only so much you can expect. The meats were not good quality and the servers were extremely slow in bringing out our food and we often had to remind them of our order multiple times. This restaurant could use some extra workers and there isn’t much variety. There’s also $ 2 valet.

This place used to be one of the top Korean BBQ restaurant in my list but since they changed there are some changes in their quality as well… in short: 1– The quality of the food has gone from great to OK. on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best I would say it used to be 7 and now it is 5) 2– The quality of service has remained good and the server who helped us was great. He even helped us cook and was always attentive. 3– The ambiance and the looks of the restaurant have really improved. The décor is much nicer, the look and feel is much cleaner, and there are about twice the amount of seating that there was in the old place. I will go there again to see if the quality of food gets better but if it does not then Shok Do Rak will be pushed too far down on my list of restaurants that would consider going to. Cheers!

Likes: AYCE meat and lots of banchan, friendly service, valet is $ 2, Unilocal deal where only one person in a group can get 50% off their meal. Best way to avoid awkwardness is to split it evenly. Dislikes: they didn’t have any more japchae?! :O

Shik Do Rak which roughly means«the road to good food» according to one of our servers is really a great place. It is walking distance from my place. I have been here several times. There are two really outstanding male servers and one of them was nice enough to tell us how most Koreans eat their KBBQ. The banchan are to DIE for! Daikon kimchi, green radish wraps, kimchi, sesame oil sprouts, seaweed, etc. The meat is of decent quality. We would get the $ 9.99AYCE deal which included pork belly, marinated chicken, bulgogi and brisket. The place is very well ventilated! The place has been really packed of late too! Mixed crowds! They have their own parking lot and it’s pretty big! Sometimes you have to use valet service though. I could go on and on about the marvelous details that made my BF and I enjoy this restaurant so, soooo much but, but, BUT… read on… So why do I give them one star? I’m heartbroken but… On our last visit there was a dead COCKROACH in the green radish wraps. I was hoping it might be a rice bug or something but nope it was a roach. Even if it was a less gross bug it was a bug nonetheless. Odds are it won’t happen to you, hopefully, but one time is enough for me.

Came here for a quick AYCE kbbq. I chose this place because I know it wouldn’t be busy for Saturday dinner. But I shouldve went somewhere else. The side dishes weren’t good, the service was crappy. THe meat quality was okay. I wouldn’t come back here, even if it means I had to wait an hour for a average ayce

I decided to try out their AYCE as I was not able to cook tonight. For $ 9.99, what else could go wrong. I won’t even complain. No long lines, No waiting… As soon as I walk in, they greeted and set up the table. The chopsticks are in stainless steel. There was no wooden chopticks offered which made our food not easy to grab. So i requested for a fork. It took sometime for us to receive our side dish of rice that we have to keep on reminding like 4 – 5 times as i can remember and the soup was delievered later than that, almost halfway of our dinner to the point where i forgot that i ordered them. The water was not offered until we asked too. For the positive side, i like their pork belly thin slices. It was better than brisket to be frank. I like their food choices and also they know to speak english. Not all can totally understand what non-korean asks. They are not running around like other bbq all you can eat houses. They are quick but not to the point of bumping to each other. Very spacious and smoke does not go all over your face. Seats are comfy. Overall, i can say im okay with it. Food was great and issues i have with them is not that big of a deal but to some, maybe it is. Oh! And valet is $ 2.00!

Be wary of any place with servers who have years and years and years of experience in service… that’s all I’m saying. Their is better BBK food ANYWHERE.

This place finally reopened after being closed for almost a year! Hands down my favorite KBBQ place. Now they offer AYCE which is even more awesome. 3 things: rice paper wraps, brisket and hot sauce = this is the place for you. Their hot sauce is like crack it always brings me back.

When they first moved over to this new location, I hated the smell and décor since it took over an old korean bbq joint. After their recent remodel, it looks nicer and doesn’t have that bad smell. It has better ventilation too. In addition to their remodel, they have added their AYCE menu similar to the one in Garden Grove for $ 16.99. It has beef briskets, marinated bulgogi, octopus, steam eggs, mushrooms/onion, etc but the menu here is much smaller than the one in Garden Grove. It didn’t affected me much as I love the beef briskets with dok busam. I would have liked to get marinated galbi added to the menu.

I think this restaurant was trying to get in its flow. The service was lackluster but I was still happy that we got what we asked(2 – 3 times) for. The young servers are really sweet and eager. For some reason I kept thinking that was cute all night. The chadol is still the best meat they serve here. It’s yummy with the dduk ssam. AYCE is only on weekdays!

This place pisses me off. Ok let’s start with the good because I like give credit for things that are good even if the other stuff sucks. Good Quantity of bulkogi they give for cooking is good and the price is reasonable. Everyone I was with really liked the salad/lettuce they give. The young man helping us was nice enough and apologetic about not being able to get other things to eat. Bad Although they are open until 11pm you’d better get there before 10 if you want anything other than things to cook yourself. We couldn’t get anything other than bulkogi to eat, they were out of kalbi. Service: The girl that took over serving us was useless and shes lucky I didn’t give her a piece of my mind. It’s obvious that everyone in our party of 10 was not Korean(they are Filipino) however I am not but am generally mistaken for whatever Asian ethnicity of the places we are eating at. I asked for the rice wrappers to eat with our food, she tells us they ran out WTF? We had to repeatedly ask for things as they would forget, I was about to start calling her over in Korean and asking for stuff. I probably should have, I bet the service would have improved. As we were leaving I noticed UNFINISHED rice wrappers on the table next to us! There were two Korean ladies that came in and ordered well after us so how is it they suddenly had rice wrappers? Huh? Only for Koreans? Guess what, I’m Korean too! Hey I hope you read this Shik Do Rak. I won’t be returning to this location nor will anyone in our party or their friends, we’ll make sure of that.

I loved my AYCE experience here. I usually don’t AYCE because I just never eat my money’s worth, but this time, I think I ate what it was worth and more! Let’s first start off with what BBQ is all about: THEMEAT! My personal favorites are the ribeye and chadol and both meats were fresh and really complimented the sauces they hand out as well as the ddukbossam they gave out. Their banchan was fresh and they were quick to refill multiple times. Their denjangjjigae(soy bean soup) was also great, and I loved that I could get an unlimited amount. We also opted for their buckwheat noodles, which I believe was the shining star. They pool out their own noodles and you can definitely tell. Their beef stock was amazing which made the cold soup for the noodles amazing as well! Overall, it was definitely one of the best AYCE times I’ve had!
