This is the best store. It has all your gypsy/boho/steve nicks/burning man style clothes. Each piece is so intricate and decorative. I feel like a fairy any time i put on these timeless garments.

Definitely this is one of my favorite stores in LA. Not only I found what I needed but I was amazed by incredible designs and fabrics. This little shop have a very magical and special energy, so if you are walking through Santee Alley don’t hesitate amd go to Shiba… You might find more than what you are looking for.

Shiba is an amazing gem of a store. I was originally in the downtown clothing district looking for a wedding gown, but ended up buying 2 nontraditional gorgeous wedding dresses from Shiba. Shiba is also the name of the owner, who was very sweet and helpful, I couldn’t have asked for better customer service. I can’t get over how great this store is! Everything is very beautiful and unique; gorgeous one of a kind jewelry pieces, hair accessories, boots, shawls, dresses, and pants. If you are in the area you have to check this place out!

I’m not sure this is the same shop as reviewed above… the«Shiba» shop I found was one block over on Olympic between 10th&11th… but here goes. Let’s start by confessing I was shopping for Burning Man. Don’t judge me. Its good for the economy. After enduring the street hawkers and inverteately uniform, mass-produced China/Korea merchandise of Santee Alley… and emerging from it frazzled with only a few prize acquisitions, the Shiba store was refreshing yet… a little disheartening at the same time. It was great to see such a wonderful selection of extremely unique dress-up garments: sweeping, tribal looking skirts, industrial/goth coats and skirts, lace shawls, sweaters and dresses, and an infinite selection of goregously beaded, lovingly handcrafted tops liek I’ve never seen before. A belly dancer could set up an entire performance wardrobe here. I was in love with the place until, youch, I noticed the prices. They were um, ah, reasonable… $ 75 for a microfiber skirt I wanted that had a sort of bustle/side-swish/cargo thing going on, another $ 120 for a beaded top that might actually fit me(as opposed to those $ 6 jingly coin bras next door, which were outfitted with what looked like nursing pads for an inner bra). I think the prices were decent considering the sweat effort involved in making these incredible garments; I even got the sense that the seller might drop prices for multiple items. But here’s the thing: we were one block over from Santee Alley, not somewhere on Rodeo drive. So I was little sticker-shocked and I left with nothing, which was a huge bummer. I just need to go rob a bank and go back! So, here’s the scoop: if you’re ready to spend a couple hundred for a few incredible almost one-of-a-kind outfits, go here. Otherwise, treat it like a museum of really gorgeous sparkly stuff and expect to feel needy when you leave.

Their business card reads«Exotic-Timeless Designs». This store is near the infamous«Fashion Alley». I happened upon this place while strolling around one day. My heart started to palpitate as I realized it carried Indian clothes, shoes, jewelry and accessories. For those of you that don’t personally know me, which is most of you, I am obsessed with anything Indian. I have an Indian friend who believes I was Indian in a past life. Their prices are on the higher side, but their merchandise is beautiful and not cheaply made like other stuff I have seen in the alley or at the mall. They have a variety of sari skirts, tops, and blouses to choose from… the«fashionable» kind. If you happen to be in the fashion district or if you don’t feel like venturing to Little India, I recommend this place for a quick fix. You can find parking in any lot nearby since street parking is virtually impossibe. They accept credit cards.
