Overpriced and was not transparent about the price. Went to the LA coliseum for a conference and this food truck was there. First of all, I think they knew there would be a huge crowd for that conference with limited food options, so they posted up pictures without the price. Even then, we thought, it couldn’t be that bad right? Well, it hurts a little when my friend ordered a BBQ pastrami sandwich and the person at the counter(owner?) announced it was 15 dollars. FIFTEENDOLLARS! Without any drinks, without any fries, just a sandwich is fifteen dollars. Now when it was our turn to order(we figured too late now because we waited around 20 minutes already in line), we ordered BLT, 2 Fries, a Triple decker, and bacon ranch Cheese burger. 51 $. Made me sad even more. We then waited for another 30 minutes. The crowd was definitely getting restless, and it was not pretty. Now for the food. Ok so for that much money, we had better be getting amazing sandwiches and a lot of fries. Nope. The sandwich was just ok and the fries portions, teeny tiny. And also, the portions are not fair. A girl ahead of us were given a plate ful, whereas we were given a tiny plateful within another plate. And the fact that we could not have known from the truck whether the price was OK with us before getting in line, was not cool. I just felt like they were trying to take advantage. Just a warning for everyone else out there, because I unfortunately did not feel that it was worth it and fair.

Hungry af on «First Thursday» in Downtown San Pedro where there’s about 10 trucks to choose from with 10 – 30 minute waits I stumble upon this truck with not one person in line. I ask the schmuck behind the window«hey dude! What’s the best sandwich you guys got! Like your signature one!» He said«the Brisket on rye with coleslaw.» I said«okay!»!) he says«$ 12 bucks». Pretty expensive for a sandwich I thought. The rye is good, the coleslaw was good, the brisket was really good high quality beef, it can’t with a side of decent potatoe salad, and a pickle. I enjoyed the sandwich. Sandwich is 4 stars. That price is just a little high. Should be no more than $ 10

The most disgusting food I have ever had in my life. I hate when my food disappoints me. I ordered the«garlic fries» which were decent i suppose. THe sauce isnt very good and of course not what I expected. I also got the bacon grilled cheese thing wich was nasty and soggy. I am still made about this place. I went there about a year ago and came across this page on Unilocal just now which brought back terrible memories. Yes I am being dramatic but the food sucked. dont eat here.

between the 20 minute wait to order and the 30+ minutes to get our food, almost an hour to get a couple sandwiches and fries! $ 31 too! so we at least expected something awesome after waiting that long. nope. $ 5 for sad, undercooked, soggy fries. $ 12 for a sandwich with brisket and cole slaw… not a ton of brisket and parts of it were so fatty and inedible anyway. definitely not trying this truck again.

You’re the Shmuck if you order here. I first looked on their site and decided on the feta chicken wrap. I went to order and the lady looked at me like I was crazy. Turns out that item doesn’t exists. So I got the turkey bacon«wrap». It was pretty terrible. The picture on the truck looks like what I would consider a normal wrap. Some lettuce, bacon, cheese, deli meat turkey, mayo — served COLD like a sandwich. What I got was a hot sloppy mess that tasted like a thousand island explosion. The turkey meat was weirdly grilled. The lettuce was hot — which is so gross. And it was covered in a sauce that wasn’t shown in the picture. I took 4 bites and threw it away. I hoped the macaroni salad would save it. but it was basically mayonnaise and relish with noodles. The best thing was the pickle spear that was pulled out of jar. :/

Yeah, I don’t have the complaints about the service or wait. I do have complaints about the food. The garlic fries are plain undercooked fries covered with garlic mayo. A greasy mess and just meh. They could use real minced garlic and oregano flakes and be a mile ahead of what they are now. The pictures on the side of the truck as very miss matched, in fact, some of them look like they got swiped right off of Pinterest. I ordered the Tuna melt and the tuna was cold and lacked any flavor. The picture suggest it has seasoning, melted jack(or some other white cheese), diced veggies on wheat bread. What I got was more like 2 scoops of cold tuna mixed with mayo. 2 slices American cheese, hardly melted except for the edges. Skip this one, So, all in all, I ordered fries and a tuna melt. What I got was Fries Sandwich Macaroni salad Pickle I ate a few fries on the walk back, a couple more after sitting down, ate 1 half of the sandwich, a spoon of the mac-salad and said good by to my lunch. $ 15+$ 2tip, and one«I should have trusted the Unilocal reviews» later… Avoid unless it’s all there is to eat. I’m a little frustrated to be honest. They have everything they need to make a decent meal, but cut corners, and clearly don’t listen to the Unilocal reviews. What a shame.

They charged me $ 260 for a tuna melt. When I went up to order and gave them my card, the guy seem to be struggling with the iPad they were using for running cards. He swiped it a few times, nothing happened, and then he returned my card and said«It’s declined». I figured it just wasn’t swiping. I see trucks having trouble with their card readers all the time. So, I just gave him cash for my sandwich and drink: $ 13 dollars. As soon as I step out of line to wait, my bank texts me. They’ve deactivated my card because of suspicious activity. Someone(this truck) had tried to charge me $ 130 twice in a row. So now it made sense. They probably typed it in wrong, then the bank caught it and now my card is disabled. No big deal, I walk up to ask if they accidentally may have charged me wrong and immediately they give me attitude. «Hi, I think you may have charged me wrong. I just got a text from my ban – « Then they cut me off. «We didn’t do anything, see…» and then showed me a list of the charges on the iPad. I protested but then the guy wagged his finger at me like I should probably get lost. Anyways, I got my food, went back to my office and then called my bank. It took 20 minutes on the phone to get my card reactivated and confirm that I did not intentionally spend $ 260 at a food truck. And, yes this charge was from this truck. Spending the time on the phone sucked, but I honestly wouldn’t have cared if they hadn’t been so rude and dismissive. The tuna melt was good.

I hope it was an off day because they seemed like nice guys. My co-worker and I ate at this truck outside Universal the other day. I don’t remember what sandwich he got, but both of our sandwiches were on horrifically soggy bread that seemed like it was soaked in grease before being put on the flat top. The pastrami in my sandwich was serviceable, but the bread made the sandwich inedible. Also, I didn’t ask for the bread to be grilled and they did it anyway. Had they left the bread as-is, the sandwich probably would have been fine. The onion rings just tasted like fried batter with onion powder in them. My co-worker got the garlic parmesan fries, which stunk up the entire office. Whatever that sauce is(normally garlic fries are just chopped garlic or garlic oil with some shredded parmesan and parsley), it’s ghastly. Again, I hope it was just an off day. They seemed like nice guys, but not nice enough for me to go back to this truck if/when they’re at Universal again.

Under new ownership, so I definitely didn’t have any of the issues that everyone else had. The Ruben Grilled Cheese is beyond delicious. Don’t pass them up because of the reviews!

These are super friendly folks that serve hot food. My Garlicky Grilled Cheese with Bacon & Spinach came out hot on nice rye bread. –1 Star for high price per portion($ 5 for the equivalent of a medium McDonald’s fry) –1 Star for too much salt. My tongue is numb!

Was at the Renegade Craft Fair in DTLA this year… Chose them bc they had the shortest line.. Figured I’d get my food fast. Boy, was I wrong. Infuriatingly long wait time. They had 1 guy working the grill. Not sure why it takes so long to grill up a burger and fries. Food was just ok… nothing special at all… I wouldnt come back even if I were to be promised immediate service. Oh and bring cash if you dont want to pay the extra $ 0.50 to swipe your card here.

Walking along a row of food trucks, the Schmuck Truck caught my eye with its huge poster of a Garlicky Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Spinach. I stopped dead in my tracks and made my way to the end of the line. I immediately knew what I was having for lunch! Food: — Garlicky Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Spinach — Yum! The sandwich had lots of spinach, and the bacon was cooked nice and crispy! I liked that they used a mild white cheese, so that the flavor of the bacon could really shine through. $ 10 is a little steep for a grilled cheese and a pickle wedge, but what food truck isn’t on the pricier side? — Garlic Fries — I was expecting chunks of garlic, but instead the fries were topped with this white garlic-flavored cream sauce. I was not a fan of these.

WOW! What a Schmuck indeed!!! I had the pleasure of meeting you guys at the L.A. County Fair this Saturday the 27th2014. I bought your fries with your special garlic sauce and added bacon. If that is the case, then maybe you should not be signed up with Square… I’m notifying them as well about your business. I tried calling your advertised number to fix this issue but it doesn’t ring to anywhere!!! Paid A Schmuck from Square How was your experience? Avoid Tall ships event in San Pedro. Ordered their pastrami sandwich. Ordering took 3 minutes tops. Receiving took almost 30 minutes. The crowd of 10 to 15 were restless awaiting their orders, some only ordered fries and that still took more than 20 minutes. It was almost like the whole crew was new. The pastrami sandwich consisted of one slice pastrami, slaw and Russian dressing. The slaw overwhelmed any of the other flavors. $ 10 was way overpriced for what I got. Course, I wouldn’t order that again if it was $ 2, either.

Only ate here since it was the only«food» food truck. Food was alright. Had a grilled cheese, onion rings and fries. It was nothing special. We were the only ones that had ordered but the man taking orders felt the urge to scream«your order is ready» when we didn’t jump at his first attempt. If you have a choice don’t come here and make something at home.

Going out on a Friday night and need something to line my stomach… a NY Deli truck? Perfect! I was indecisive on what to get and the guy in the truck recommended the pastrami. I got the pastrami sandwich with coleslaw and thousand island dressing. About 6 minutes later I was walking away with sandwich in hand. The pastrami was delicious. Perfectly marbled and there was a ton heaped on the sandwich. The coleslaw and thousand island were a good compliment to cut through the grease of the meat. The bread just about held together. I think with another minute of toasting it wouldn’t have had any spots of grease making it soggy. It came with a pickle and potato salad. The potato salad was good and the pickle was a good compliment. Overall I really enjoyed the sandwich and will be back!

Horrible! Terrible! Run from this truck!!! We ordered two sandwiches from this truck at the Long Beach Grand Prix. I should have just dropped $ 25 on the ground. If you ever come across this truck, look at the pictures of the sandwiches they advertise on the truck. These WON’T be the sandwiches You get! They show as stuffed with shaved pastrami, brisket or corned beef. You won’t get ANYTHING like that. There was BARELY any meat in our two sandwiches(I’m not exaggerating). If ever a food truck could be sued for false advertising, this schmuck could. I got mugged by a schmuck at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Don’t let it happen to you. You’ve been warned.
