The best kept secret in LA is Linda, the Master Tailor at Royal Cleaners. She and her husband Joon own the store. I bring all my vintage 1920s and 1930s clothes to Linda to mend or alter. She has put a new lining in vintage coats(while keeping the original lining underneath and making inner pockets in the new lining Exactly like the originals), mended extensively torn lace so that the repair is Invisible on my 1920s Saks Fifth Avenue chemises, the list goes on and on, plus altering blue jeans etc. There is nothing I don’t bring her. I also bring my regular dry cleaning there and they do an excellent job.(Not my vintage dry cleaning, for that I go to Brown’s in Santa Monica where they do it by hand $). The prices at Royal Cleaners are also very reasonable. I used to live near here so that’s how I found them. But I’ve lived in Brentwood since 2008 and I still come to Royals. That says it all.

I have been bringing my dry cleaning here for over 10 years. I don’t live close by anymore but still try to come here when I can. Linda and her husband have always been terrific with me, knows me by name and even gave me a discount when they found out I was laid off! They are two of the kindest people I know. And, The clothes never smell of chemicals when I get them back and I’ve never had any problems with the cleaning. They will tell me when they don’t think a stain will come out, the service is quick and inexpensive. Alterations are nicely done too. I highly recommend this place.

Really overpriced. We got a suit fitted for alterations and she agreed on a certain price. After the job was finished she charged us 25 dollars extra. I had two zippers fixed at the same time, also over priced and one of them was having problems still.

After trying out a few cleaners in the neighborhood this one won out and I’ve not gone to another dry cleaner in LA in over a decade. The owners are pleasant, usually remember my name and they get the job done. On the rare occasion that my dry cleaning isn’t ready when they said it would be, it’s always ready later in the day or the next day and I find it easy to forgive them because the rest of the time they run a great business and are friendly people.

Linda has got to be a pathological liar. I can’t figure out why she has quoted a different price on the phone, and a higher price when I walk in. This has happened three times. Finally this time I decided to take my business elsewhere. I called, asked for her by name, asked for a quote on a dress to hem — she told me $ 10 unlined, $ 13 lined. When I walked in, she told me she never spoke to me and it was $ 15. When I called to ask about pants, she told me $ 10. I brought 6 pairs of pants in and they were $ 13 each. Again, I mentioned what she said on the phone and she denied it. It is the same woman, same voice, same accent. I don’t know why they just don’t tell you the right price. I would probably still come if they told me they price was a bit higher, but will not patronage a store where they continually lie and deny it. Terrible customer service.

Wonderful tailor, Linda, owner! I often need altering with tissue tees or stretchy pants, dresses, tops. She is soooo reasonable and does a fantastic job! I went to Ritz Cleaners to have them just hem a stretchy item and they wanted 25.00−30.00! They said because they use a special machine that uses stretchy thread and on stretchy material, which many tailors do not use, that it would cost more. Linda was only 12.00 to hem the same item with the same machine and technique! You can’t even tell that she has hemmed or altered the items. I totally recommend her for any tailoring, especially for the new clothing that we love, tissue tees or stretchy clothing. They also use organic materials for cleaning. Great mom and pop store, very good customer service and very friendly. I’ve been going for a few years now and feel so happy to have found them. I go to no other!

I’ve been taking my clothes here to get tailored for over 10 years now. Even though it’s so far out of my way to go there(considering I go to a dry cleaners that I love closer to my own home) I just don’t trust anyone else. Whether it’s to get my pants hemmed or a jacket tailored, I will drive there just to drop off my stuff.(and then there is an excuse to go to The Grove which is right down the street). I usually have a pile that I take all at once, which is probably not very nice. But I give them as much time as they need to get it done. I’ve had items dry cleaned here as well — usually after something was tailored for me. They are super nice and get stuff back to you in a decent amount of time. Prices are par. Just be forewarned — they close on Fridays at SUNDOWN(yes, EVERY Friday). NOEXCEPTIONS! So you better plan accordingly. And they are closed on Saturdays. To make up for it though — they are opened on Sundays — which is generally a hard thing to find anyhow.
