Authentic, light and delicate flavors with well-textured noodles. The other items besides noodles are delicious as well.

They recently rebranded and changed their menu. Went from 100+ items to around 20 signature dishes. They have the best Liang Pi in town! Also gui lin mi fen and dice noodles are better than all places in SGV!

My bf and I parked in the underground structure. Due to that, we had to dine at one of the plaza’s restaurants in order to get validation. After a lazy Unilocal search, we ended up here. It was a very small but cozy noodle shop with nice dark wood. Their menu had great pictures and was easy to understand. My bf ordered one of their popular noodles called Liuzhoa soup. What interested me was that their broth might contain snails in them! I ordered their Chinese Mo because my appetite was mediocre. Liuzhoa Soup– interesting. The soup base was sour and spicy. The contents of the soup, which were plenty, didn’t mix well in my opinion. I love their peanuts. It was in a LARGEEE bowl which we couldn’t finish. My bf wasn’t a fan of this, I thought it was okay. We’re not sure if we’ll order this again Chinese Mo– I liked how their bread was toasted and the meat was tender. I’m definitely a fan of this but it was a very small portion for the $ 4 we paid for it. I could’ve got a large bun me across the plaza for that price It was an interesting experience but their offerings were not of our tastes. I would recommend to friends, if they want something spicy and sour, but we weren’t too fond of it.

I first tried Liang Pi when I lived in NY at Xi’An. Was craving it the other day and found this place. Not quite as good as back east, but very good in an a pinch. Would definitely recommend this dish at Qin West.

Noodles are always on my mind. Love that this is a small local spot with. authentic savory choices. All their well known noodle dishes looked so good. I chose the Liang Pi noodle. Perfect in between soupy and dry noodle dish, but not gravy. I liked that this place had the roasted chili flakes. Stuff that I only had in Laos and Thailand. Surprised that Chinese dished could have that much flare and heat. Next time I am going to try the Liuzhou Soup.

Be careful when using credit card here!!! I went to this restaurant once in August after I went back to LA from China. I used my Chinese credit card to pay. Some one copied my credit card and made several unauthorized payments over $ 2000 three days later. I am pretty sure this restaurant was related because that was the only place I used that card before the fraud happened.(They claim that someone hacked their system and stolen the information. I don’t believe that.)As far as I know, there are over one hundred victims like me. The police tried to investigate but found not enough evidence. So, please be careful! Someone told me his card information was stolen this week at this place! So ITISSTILLHAPPENING!

Qin West is an underrated hole in the wall for a variety of noodle dishes. I’ve had my fair share of Chinese noodles but Qin West caters to a different palate. I always order the liang pi and saozi noodles. Both are dry noodles so no soup but come with delicious spicy sauce. I prefer the saozi noodles because they’re more flavorful with the meat and potato dressing but the liang pi noodles are chewy and so simple yet delicious. The noodles are less than 10 bucks so a great deal all around. The non soup noodles are fantastic take out options for lunch or dinner. Parking: Located in the Far East Plaza, they are just a couple stores down from Chego and opposite side of the plaza from Pok Pok. They also validate with a purchase… Yay for free parking!

Guilin noodle was pretty good. I give that dish about 3.5−4 stars. However, I also ordered the kung pao chicken and beef chow mein and both were less than mediocre. Tasted like buffet food. Stick to their noodle soups.

Ordered the Guilin and the Liuzhou noodles. Both came out relatively fast. Had pretty high expectations after reading the reviews, but was left disappointed. Both broths were very very greasy and not as flavorful as I expected them to be. The lily flowers were very delicious though! I wonder why more places don’t use them, wish they did! I’ll come back next time and try the Liang Pi noodles. *Make sure to get your parking pass validated!

My wife and I eat here at least twice a month. It is Western Chinese food and I have to say I like it a lot better than main stream Chinese. The soaps are amazing! My favorite is the Saozi noddle soup extra spicy. Do be aware that they close early at 6:30 so don’t come late. Also there are completely different customer service experiences depending on who is working. All has been positive except one older lady who was being rude about giving a to go container for soup. But don’t worry the food is consistently amazing.

I love this place. Absolutely LOVE this place. I’d place it as one of my favorite soup restaurants in Los Angeles and beasts the hell out of soups I’ve found in San Gabriel. Really really really good stuff. Little diamond in the rough. They have a wide range of your standard Chinese food but what you want to stick to is the Guilin cuisines, the soups. I had the Liuzhou soup and it was just so good. I ordered it spicy, and you could still taste all the unique flavors in the soup with this perfect spicy burn, fabulous. I only realized halfway through that it doesn’t have any meat in the soup itself(the broth does) and I hadn’t cared, it was just so delicious. The soup is quite large too! The noodles in the soup are some of the best I’ve ever had, I just wanted to point that out. They’re beautiful. Coke is $ 1 and goes really well with the spicy soups to wash down. Yeah, this place, go. It’s near Chego just a few shops down. Forgot to add. Total with tax was $ 8.00 for the soup. They take credit card!

This place is f’cking bomb. If you’re into flavorful noodles, spice, and everything nice, then Qin West has got you covered. Located in Far East Plaza, their mission on their website is to bring hungry mouths the«true taste of China». Regardless of what that actually means, what shines here are their noodles. Holy. Moly. The Liang Pi noodles are unlike any I’ve ever had before! They’re soft and delicate, yet also perfectly chewy — without being mushy. Both times I’ve went I’ve gotten the mild, and the taste is sooo dynamic. It’s spicy, but in that Szechwan style of spice, and the cucumbers, garlic, and beansprouts really give it a tart and more buttery feel. As noted, I chose the mild when I went but you can totally go for non-spicy so spicy your tongue melts. The choice is yours. In addition to the Liang pi noodles, I’ve also tried their wonton soup with hot chili oil. The wonton has no shrimp, which is a plus for me because I don’t like shrimp in my wonton(surprising, I know). They’re on the smaller size, but they don’t skimp out on the number they give you. The soup is really flavorful even with the spicy oil in it, and I can imagine it being great on a cold day. To help give you your veggies, there’s also spinach(i think) in it! Lastly, the Chinese Mo, described as a «Chinese sandwich with taste pork», is like if you took a flat version of a Sheng Jian Bao breading and made it a little more toasty and then cut it open and stuffed it with pork filling that oozed with gravy sauce. It’s so good, and with the soup it was even better! Much like how grilled cheese and tomato soup match! I recommend all of these dishes, and I know my friends say that their noodle soups are also a solid A as well. Please check this place out! In terms of ambiance, it’s your average run of the mill family owned restaurant. I really enjoy the wallpaper brick everywhere. Anyway, my point is to come here!!! Bring your friends! And be ready to get your taste buds tingling.

Have been eating here on and off for about 6 months. Generally the noodle dishes are good.(Haven’t tried their more pedestrian rice dishes.) They specialize in Mainland China’s «heartland» cuisine — the food culture of Shanxi and adjacent areas where Han Chinese civilization first blossomed. The Guilin noodle soup(not Shanxi in origin) is good, and so are the saozi noodles(wet or dry). The liang pi is particularly evocative of Zhang Yimou’s characters who heartily slurp down these bowls of cold noodles decorated with julienned cucumbers and bean sprouts and doused in a spicy peppery sauce. The noodle dishes can be a bit spicy for the uninitiated. Sharing the same mall as Chego and Pok Pok, this establishment is often not that busy because LA people(even the Chinese variety) are not that familiar with China’s heartland cuisine. At least not yet…

Came here based on reviews for the house made noodles«Liang pi». This is very different the Liang pi I’ve had at most places. I thought the noodles were too thick and not fitting for the dish, the flavors also didn’t taste right(hot sauce tasted bottled). I also ordered the chinese mo which was like a pan seared bun with pork inside. The pork was tough, however the taste was good. The bun tasted stale and was not to my liking. The one thing that saves this place shockingly is the orange chicken. I actually usually never order this dish, however my friend was craving this dish and ordered it. The chicken was perfectly fried and the sauce had real orange slices in it and the flavor was substantial. Prices were good, staff was nice. Parking is easy and free with validation in the far east plaza garage downstairs(entrance on broadway or hill).

Guilin Rice noodle, ask for a little spicy, taste really good for the beef soup, tender beef meat and traditional noodle, I love it! Only $ 7.5 and can use credit card!

Qin West is the most legit Chinese food in the spicy school of cooking west of the 710, an island of flavor floating in a sea of cantonese dumplings and seafood. I highly recommend the following items at Qin West — 1) Liuzhou soup noodles — MYGO-TODISH! pickled bamboo, lily flowers(not a common ingredient, so what a treat!) in a lightly sour, heavily spicy soup. noodles are rice noodles for those curious about gluten content. crunchy peanut for texture. massive portions, eat now, save for later. 2) Guilin soup noodles — hearty slices of beef, spicy soup, rice noodles, massive portions as well. 3) rou jia mo — this is the world’s first sandwich, conceived somewhere along the silk route as food for a mishmash of ethnic travelers. basically, think a spiced aromatic meat and potato stuffed pancake, grilled hot and slightly crispy. delicious. 4) liang pi — cold hand made noodles, freshly prepared daily. think a noodle salad with sweet, nutty, umami, garlicky flavors. it is REALLYREALLY good. The only reason I don’t eat this more is because there aren’t too many veggies in it(like the soup noodles above), but flavor wise, it is definitely my favorite! 5) Sao zi noodles — I think these are wheat noodles, so gluten! Super hearty dish, diced meat and potatoes in hot chili oil on noodles. okay, and if you don’t want spicy, their STEAMEDDUMPLINGS are also super tasty and cheap!

Their Liang Pi and other dishes are great! Sour, spicy, salty, nutty, umami, … wow. A lot going on. Their soups are good too. But that Liang Pi? Watch out!!! Better food than a Chego(dang, they oversauce everything IMO!) and Pok Pok(hopefully their newer restaurant with wing will be better). Honestly, I heard from two different friends how bad ramen champ was, that I didn’t try it yet.

Been looking for a liang pi ever since I had the dish at Xi’an in NYC a couple years back. The liang pi was tasty. Had it last night at this restaurant… awesome. Decent price. The pork bun wasn’t awesome. But I will definitely be going back for this liang pi. Put it this way. I eat a ton of Asian food and other types. For LA County I’m pretty well versed in going to my favorite places depending on the Asian dish I’m craving. Not a strong desire to get Pok Pok, Chego, or Champ, but will go back for this liang pits to time. Had the lime & jackfruit ice cream at Scoops. Was really good. Happy Chinese New Year!!!
