Big and cold environment. The service is really bad and the waiters are not friendly at all. The food tastes no good and not authentic at all. The amount of food is really small and the price is very high. Very disappointed.

Been coming here since I was in the womb. 25 years later I still love the food. This restaurant may not be the fanciest, but the food is always great and that’s what keeps me coming back.

This is an «A» restaurant with tight seating! The prices are moderate compare to the other places in Chinatown. They offer a range of boba teas here and drinks. The milk tea boba was horrible! The boba had a horrible after taste! The service I give it a b+. The beef phở with meatballs was very watery with barely any flavors.

Went in the morning on a weekday, and got a Teochew Phở Bowl and Fried Donut. It was a good portion and soup tasted just like Teochew flavor. Overall, a great place to eat in Chinatown of LA. If your hungry and looking for food go here for some food. Price was alright a bit expensive but not too bad. I would be coming back. So four star. Service is not bad as well, as always its Chinatown and a family owned business. Nothing out of the ordinary, as always same as usual. Price is not bad, food is good, service is good and is a typical Chinese Restaurant. Location: Its in the plaza with Wing Hop Fung, and Chego. Parking is at the basement.

Good joint in Chinatown for basic and traditional egg noodle soup, I like the standard duck and wontons. The staff is old school so show manners and don’t overdo the customer is always right thing! I park down in the structure below to get validation. Also if you have kids, then they have a small shopping center with boba and mini horse rides. I always stop by because it quick and convenient.

Yummy! My friends recommended the restaurant to me as their families have been going here for years. It’s a great family restaurant, and super affordable compared to the trendier places popping up in the plaza. My friends say that their best dishes are their noodle soups, however it’s been hot these last couple of months so I have yet to try it. I’ve had their fried rice cakes($ 6) — SOGOOD! The texture of the rice cake and the flavor of the fish sauce was just so great, I kept thinking about it for days! I’ve also had their leek cakes($ 5) and those were yummy as well. No wonder families buy dozens of these to freeze them and eat them at home! The leek cakes are super popular though, and sometimes they run out in the afternoon! The serving sizes of all their dishes are just right for a person. They also have super cute decals on their windows that advertise their homemade fish paste and other products, and I hear they make their own fishballs and meatballs, so those are on my list to try! Parking for Far East Plaza is underground, and you can get validated for up to 2 hours. Kim Chuy validates 30 minutes at a time, so make sure you validate the amount of time you’re there! The service is standard, and I really like the family feel of the people working there. Once, a grandma server brought our food out and was like, «Né.»(«Here.») and little things like that makes me feel like it’s a family atmosphere. The people working in the restaurant understand and are capable in various languages including English and Spanish. I feel like this place truly has a taste that reflects the last 30 years in Chinatown.

Damn, this place has been there as long as I can remember! The same staff still works there since 15 – 20 years ago. Some how they don’t seem a lot older. Perhaps the soup has a fountain of youth effect? Seriously, the Teu Chieu noodle soup is average. The soup base is a tad sweet for my taste. Parking is terrible but expected in Chinatown. This place is great for senior hangout, but I shall wait my turn.

I am being generous with my 2 stars. This has been my mom’s favorite holes in wall place for over 10 years. The food quality is substandard and the service is horrible. We have asked for utensils, the ancient waiter slurred, «Go get it yourself» angrily. We saw other patrons being responded harshly as well by this same old waiter as well as several other ancient servers. Additionally, they’ve filled our take order incorrectly and they’ve refused to make it right. Here is to never let a rotten person or circumstances spoil your day or your cheerful countenance. Cheers to good eats and living life fully!

If you dont mind the non existent customer service, their noodles with the fresh ingredients is worth a try.

I always come here with my parents when we go to China town and I always order the noodle soap. The soap is okay but the meat(duck, shrimp, fish balls) taste a bit old. The leek cakes especially taste like the were sitting in the fridge a few days. Lately I have noticed a drop in customers. The is a lot of competition in China town. My family will probably try something new next time.

Fast, cheap, decent tasting and filling. Also, a variety of meals to choose from. If this is what you’re looking for, then that’s all you need really.

Definitely my go to whenever I’m too lazy to drive to SGV, Arcadia, or MPK to get noodles. I just walk a few blocks and I’m there. Super cheap and good portions. Customer service is eh, but I wasn’t expecting to be treated like royalty anyway.

The food just isn’t the same anymore. It was still good til the past year. They’ve also raised prices too! You can get free downstairs parking with validation.

I love it here. This restaurant will always be a gem in Chinatown with amazing food. Every time I come here now, it reminds me of when my parents would take my brothers and me when we were younger. We would shop around Wing Hop Fung, then walk over here. One of the best places for Chiu Chow dishes. It will continue to be the one of the best restaurants in Far East Plaza. I would choose here over any of the other«new restaurants» any day! The noodle soups are always great options to try! You can never go wrong with the wonton or fishball noodle soup. MmmMmm. The family that works here is also sweet and more than willing to answer any questions you have about their menu. And everything is very affordable, coming in generous portions! There is underground parking at Far East Plaza. If you can’t get a spot there, you can definitely find parking somewhere else around Chinatown. Go take a walk, enjoy and learn about Chinatown, and visit all the small businesses. The folks that have lived in this community for decades have so many stories to share, so it’s a must to talk to them while enjoying the food they make(:

Good sized portions for decent prices. The food came out really fast too! There’s definitely many dishes to choose from on their menu. My family and I got the wonton soup(with no noodles), scallop chow fun, and shrimp fried rice. It was more than enough food for the three of us. We had a late lunch and I was too full to eat dinner later on that night!

it’s not often you see Chiu Chow style food. however it looks like this place has been slinging it for years. Got the seafood egg noodles plus the offal rice noodles to go. both pretty solid. the soup base is well seasoned and balanced and the noodles are plentiful. Seafood is cooked properly as are the different pig parts(blood cake, kidney, instestines) for the offal. It may not look nice but it’s old school, cheap and tasty.

Came here to eat some soup on a rainy day in Chinatown. I work close by and decided to try it out with a few co-workers. It’s a little hidden inside a plaza and there’s underground parking. I think it might be 90 min free with validation. Pretty much the majority of their menu is soups. I forgot the type of food it’s called but you can choose the different types of noodles and can have the broth on the side or together with the noodles. I got the noodle soup with fish cakes, duck, and liver. Broth was okay and I got skinny egg noodles. We also ordered the chinese donuts which were cold when they came out. The taste itself was not too bad, though. I just threw em in my broth. IF I were to come back, I would probably try something else… maybe stick with something safe like phở… Okay place to me… Not the best not the worst… Maybe it just wasn’t for me because the place was still pretty packed when we went at around 3pm. *shrugs*

We ordered the fried chinese donuts, ordered #1 — Wonton with Egg Noddles Soup and #4 — Special Noodles Soup., also had the fried leek cakes… I thought my wonton with egg noddles soup will just be that, since that is how was shown on the photo, however, surprisingly when my soup came it had all this extra meats, little meat balls, squid, shrimp, fish cake, even a piece of roasted chicken… lots of food, I didn’t finish all my egg noddles… very impressive portions and inexpensive. The #4 special soup, the only difference from mine is that it didn’t have my 5 wontons, and instead of the piece of chicken, it had a duck drumstick…

Located across from the Wing Hop Fung Ginseng Market. My family is always walking by and there’s always a crowd, so we finally decided to give it a try. They have a picture menu so you know exactly what each dish looks like. What I got: Hu Tieu Sate($ 6.50): comes with a thick sate sauce. I was expecting it to be spicy, but it wasn’t at all! I had to go and add like 2 spoons of the sate they provide at the table to give it a little kick. Comes with a chunk of lettuce, thick rice noodles, and meat. Taste wise, it was something I’ve never had before but it didn’t satisfy my taste buds that much. It was good, but I was maybe expecting too much. It had a little bit of a peanut butter taste to it too. Service: Typical Chinese style. Order, food comes out, pay at the counter. We were overcharged, but they didn’t give us a hard time about it and returned the overcharged amount to us. So not the best Chinese noodle place around, but definitely a cheap place to eat at!

Came here for lunch on accident with my coworker due to not knowing the place down the alley was closed on Mondays. The place was busy but we were lucky enough to get seated right away. Pictures on the menu were helpful. Ordered the #18 soup with shrimp. The food came out surprisingly fast compared to other restaurants in Chinatown. The egg noodles were tasty and never seemed to end. The broth was okay, but I’m glad it wasn’t too salty. Pretty big serving size for just $ 6.50. A little bit concerned about a few flies we saw flying around our table and food. Also, the dishes didn’t look too clean. Overall, good place to come for quick and filling bite. I don’t know how they taste, but I want to come back and try the fried doughnuts sometime.
