Can’t say much for the décor but the vibe and ambiance from the staff is just as authentic as the food. The Phở here is hearty, full of flavor, and generous in portion. My preference for Phở when I’m in the neck of the woods!

Tried #1 phở on the menu pretty good noodles minus the fat on the beef and the place is pretty outdated 3 stars

Best phở ever. Point. Blank. Period. I get this phở at least once a week for lunch and the owner is very down to earth and humble. The broth is divine and portions are huge. Thank you Phở Hoa.

The broth is very dark and rich, and flavorful. They’re undergoing renovation, but it’s a fairly large restaurant in a strip mall. Parking is a little tight, but I’ve never had a real problem if I’m willing to park off to the side. I thought the prices were reasonable and I think it’s the best phở around in the Pomona/Chino/Claremont/Montclaire area.

Decent Phở place with great prices. the owner/staff is really great and the customers all seemed to be speaking Vietnamese with them(good sign). Broth was a bit cloudy and the café sua da was not that great… but the price is right!

Phở Hoa is apparently a huge franchise in Alaska and in Washington. I dined with the person who has tried Phở Hoa in AK and WA therefore we had very high hopes. The broth here isn’t as rich. I personally prefer Legend Noodle broth over this particular locations broth but this place does beat out most phở restaurants in Korea town. I gave four stars since the egg rolls were very delicious and the workers, although they looked annoyed, were actually very friendly, fast, and funny! Cleanliness was not one of their strong points. Tables smelled funny and there were little fruit flies wondering around. However they used filtered water and that’s always a plus for me. They have no ATM machine inside and they only take cash. I used Google maps to find this place and it led me through the back entrance which was a tiny doorway in the wall but plenty of metered parking spaces near by(Saturday around 9 am). The front entrance looks a LOT better. When I checked in I noted there was a TV but it was turned off. One large, one small beef rare plus egg rolls with tip was about $ 25. I would rather go to Legend Noodles off Vermont though.

First time after passing it for years. Really good phở #16 was excellent. Fast service and an old school set up that looks like the old country. Will be back.

This long a overdue review. I give this place a 4 stars because their phở is on point! The broth is rich in flavor. It does have that deep aroma of coriander, star anise, cinnamon, and ginger. Yes, there’s fat oil(from the beef) flowing in the broth which gives it that phở hearty texture. The portion is definitely generous compared to other places in Chinatown, and the price is right! The gentlemen that works here are very nice and attentive. Never had to ask for refills on my water which is a huge plus! The only thing is the ambience of the place, it is a hole in the wall with run down dinning tables. It does feel like mobster restaurant(don’t ask me why) haha… but they their phở hits the spot!

In LA for a couple weeks, and was craving phở. On a normal day, I wouldn’t have had the time to brave the infamous LA traffic to travel to Chinatown from Westwood, a holiday Monday(Labor Day) in the middle of the afternoon presented the perfect opportunity… disclaimer: this is the only phở I’ve tried in LA so far. I walked in and was hit by a sense of familiarity for the typical old-school chachaanteng(tea restaurant) dotting Hong Kong — patrons and the staff spoke Cantonese, I assume the owners are Vietnamese Chinese. Spacious, and clean, plesantly surprised given concerns voiced in prior reviews. Ordered a large phở and iced lemon tea. Definitely filling portion with perfectly cooked rare beef, and all the usual bean sprouts, basil etc. Flavor was… a little too Chinese to my standards(I do not like phở in Hong Kong, which I think is catered to the taste there, and this reminds me of that flavor), but maybe I am just used to the Northern Vietnamese flavor, having just been to Hanoi recently… Iced lemon tea was slightly different from what I expected, and didn’t quite taste the lemon. For the atmosphere, I’d come back. Where else will I find an old Cantonese man, sipping on a ca fe sua da while playing slots machine on an ipad? :) For the phở… broth is the most important portion, therefore I’d venture to other phở establishments in the area before making a decision. 3.5 stars overall, for now.

Food and service was perfect. Excellent phở, and the other dish we had was superb as well. Authentic in the southern Vietnamese style, according to my native Vietnamese friend, and inexpensive. Décor is dingy and outdated, and restaurant has B rating,(the only reasons for deducting one star) but do not be deterred from trying all the amazing food here. I will certainly be coming back to try other dishes.

I’m Vietnamese and a lover of phở, as we all are, and lemme say, oh my GOD this phở is good. I got the phở tai large, and there’s so much meat it’s unreal. The meat is tender, the noodles are soft, the soup is savory, and plenty of beansprouts and Thai basil leaves are provided. Drink some soup before trying the phở! Protip: mix your lime into your water and add sugar to make lemonade.

Was craving Phở and a quick google map search brought up Phở Hoa which had good reviews and is only 5 minutes from me. Went over and got an order of the Phở with rare beef and a thai iced tea to go. The iced tea was good but it was so small and so much ice I think there 5 sips of tea in there :-/It was gone before I even paid for my order! My order came out quick(5 minutes maybe) and I was on my way. The phở was pretty good! My only complaint would be that they don’t give you cilantro in the to go bag. I’m a huge fan if the cilantro in phở so while there was a little bit mixed in with the onions I would have liked a little extra! I just assumed it would be in the to go bag so it was my mistake not checking to make sure. No biggie though, next time I will just ask for extra! I’ll definitely be back when I’m in a Phi mood! :)

I dont want to insult anyone who goes here but guys, please be observant when eating here!!! I went here last week based on the positive reviews on Unilocal and after my experience, I don’t think ill ever eat Phở again. There was a fly at the bottom of my broth. Thats disgusting no matter how you spin it! I didn’t pay for it of course but anyone considering this place should reconsider…

Phở Hoa… Badabing! I’ve been to a lot of Phở restaurants in Chinatown considering I’ve been Chinatown’s package delivery driver in a big brown truck for 17 years and I have set it in stone that this place has the best Phở in Chinatown! You’ll walk in to a 1980’s setting with tables and chairs from way back and pass that US Navy recruitment poster still on the entrance door. As soon as you sit they bring you a menu. If you’re lucky enough you’ll get the waiter with the froggy voice or if you’re super lucky you’ll be served by the owner himself with a Charlie Chaplin mustache. Order your food and in about 5 – 8 minutes you’ll be eating. The phở itself is off the charts. The broth is so delicious and they don’t hold back on the meats. Adding the bean sprouts and lime for me is essential because you get the crunch of the sprout and the sour of the lime. I love this plate especially when the weather is cold/raining. Well, Phở Hoa is very good and it’s that little hole in the wall everyone talks about. Bring your cash because credit cards aren’t accepted and parking is metered. See you all there!

My top favorite Phở place in Los Angeles… period! Amazingly delicious phở with ample condiments/garnishments brought to your table before you know it. Broth is what makes this dish popular and Phở Hoa nails it spot on. Pricing is good, and yes, as others have mentioned, it is cash only however there is an ATM inside the restaurant for your convenience. There is a gated parking area in the back(drive thru the breezeway on the South end of the building) that exits onto a back street and usually I can find/see parking on Spring Street or one of the adjacent streets.

One of my favorite places to get phở. Phở is pretty much the only thing on their menu, they also don’t have chicken phở, so I wouldn’t take more picky eaters here, but it’s great when I’m craving a quick, cheap, bowl of soup. I also got the Thai tea for whatever reason last time I came here. It was ok, but not great.
