A few weeks ago, I had a great dinner here. I found this niche restaurant through a last minute search through Unilocal and was curious to experience what they had to offer. The restaurant itself is tucked away within the small shops, however the restaurant name did catch my eye. Stepping into the restaurant, I expected the normal table setting but was surprised to see the setup. I think they made the right choice given the square footage and they do have a couple of small tables just outside the doors. Now concerning the food, I was quite pleased. The food was tasteful and fulfilling. The meat had a sumptuous taste, it wasn’t like other restaurants prepared it. I was for those moments enjoying my meal and not thinking of what I was going to do after my dinner. Upon finishing my meal, I was able to have a few words with one of the chefs and he let me know that indeed there was a different method in how they prepare the meat for cooking and that the meat was of a higher quality. Overall a great culinary experience for an equally great price! If your looking for a casual dining experience and wish to try something different, I recommend you give this a try.

ADOBO. BOWL. Is Lee-git! Tapsi is a bit too salty for me. Still good though. Karaage chicken with Dynamite sauce. Bomb! Pork belly jicama tacos is genius. Perfect fusion of salty sweet n sour goodness. Laid back vibe give this joint a welcoming atmosphere. Kitchen exhaust needs a little work up. Will be back soon. OI-yeah!

Very good rice bowls… but depending on the chef, can sometimes be skimpy on the meat and sauce so you’re left with lots of plain white rice towards the bottom of your bowl.

Where to start. This place is dope. Not sure what they did but something with that blowtorch makes the food top notch. Super cool vibe too. Outside seating is clutch. Everyone working there was tight. The guy at the register was more than happy to help us out. Thanks to the business owners.

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this place yesterday for lunch before heading back home to the bay. We ordered the adobo bowl, dynamite sweet fries, and pork belly jicama taco — they were all BOMB. I wish we ordered some to go for the road because it got us craving for more, guess we’ll have to do that next time! We’ll definitely be back! P. S. You guys should definitely open up a location in the Bay Area! ;)

It was hard picking what to get, everything sounded good! We ended up getting the Tapsilog bowl and the Adobo bowl. Yum! Fast food that is creative and unique. Staff was friendly and parking was easy. Will be back.

I tried the Adobo Bowl and Karaage Rice Bowl — both were tasty, filling, and affordably priced. The staff is friendly and easy to deal with. Plenty of parking in front. No public restroom is available, and the seats are not particularly comfortable, so it’s a good idea to come here only if you’re getting the food to go, or if you don’t plan to lounge around for a while. All in all, I’d definitely come back!

This is an awesome little spot in the Rite-Aid plaza on the corner of Hollywood and Vermont. Went there for the first time today, and I will be coming here all the time from now on. The menu is simple, and the prices are so great. We ordered the Adobo Bowl(braised pork belly) the Tabsilog, lumpia(egg rolls) and also and order of the Japanese style fried chicken with gravy dipping sauce. The pork belly adobo is out of this world! It was so good! I can have one everyday, and die a happy man! The Tapsilog was excellent and cooked perfectly. The service was pretty quick, and the staff was friendly. The fried chicken was ok, but a little too greasy for my taste. I’ll be coming here more often, because of their amazing bowls and great prices.

Fries were good, I didn’t try anything else but I would return to try the items. The parking lot is right in front of the location. It has a special sauce on the fries that make it stand out.

They have a short simple menu. It’s a cool lunch spot. I guess I went a little too dynamite on this one and got their special which is the Dynamite Crawfish and the Dynamite Sweet Fries which I shared with my husband. He got the Pork Belly Umami Gravy Bowl. The crawfish was smothered in their dynamite sauce. It reminded me of those sushi rolls where they have crawfish and spicy mayo on the top! It was delicious but maybe a bit too heavy for me because of the great amount of sauce on top. In addition, the sweet potato fries filled me up and there was more of the dynamite sauce on top. They were both good separately but together was just way too much! My husband loved his food. He finished all of it and there was rice leftover since they give you plenty to eat! I took a bite of his and the pork belly was tender as it should be.

Totally loved the Tapsilog! The rice, meat, egg, everything was cooked right to me. It was just one word: DELICIOUS. The place is a cute comfy little restaurant, love the décor. Service was fast, people were nice. I would definitely come back if I was in the area again!

This is a great, little addition to the run-down plaza near Kaiser Permanente and Children’s Hospital. There is no table service per se, so order at the register, and your food will be made to order and brought out when ready. You can purchase drinks, but they also offer complimentary water. The adobo bowl($ 8) was quite flavorful with perfectly cooked, juicy pork belly atop well cooked white rice and a soft boiled egg. I would have liked to have just a bit more adobo sauce. The shredded pork bowl($ 8) had flavorful braised pork and lots of seaweed and scallions. Again, more sauce would have been nice. This place makes good, sizable rice bowls for a decent price. I just wish they had restrooms. parking — free lot

The sign in the crepuscule pulled me in — I hadn’t noticed it during the day. It’s just west of the Rite Aid in that shopping center that is east of Barnsdall Park and south of Bank of America. I tried the adobo bowl and am loving it. I didn’t ask what’s in it but it’s a rice bowl with some meat that I think is pork. The sauce is a little sweet, but perfect for tonight. It’s a couple of meals for me so $ 8 is a good value. Nice guys behind the counter. Eager to try some others meals!

This is their second location. It’s situated in a strip mall near Barnsdall, the one with the Rite Aid. The storefront is a little hard to spot but it’s next door to H. Salt Fish & Chips. Oi Asian Fusion is similar to Ricebar with its mostly Filipino-inspired bowls of meat and rice. I’m fans of both, but I really like the free and easy parking here. You order/pay at the counter and they’ll bring your food out to you. There’s a modest amount of seating. Inside, you’re either facing the wall or facing the open kitchen(though there’s frosted glass separating you). I know, it’s not ideal. If it gets too smokey indoors, there are also a few tables outside. I love the ADOBOBOWL! The pork belly is phenomenal, tender and crispy. I like the thick adobo sauce a lot and of course the soft boiled egg. I’ve also had the TAPSILOG bowl. It comes with thinly sliced marinated angus beef, a fried egg and pickled red radish over garlic rice. This one is also good, but it’s hard for me to pass up on the adobo bowl. These bowls are generously packed and make for a quick, satisfying and savory meal. The menu is slightly different than the one at Canoga Park. For example, there’s the PORKBELLYJICAMATACO which features the same seared pork belly as the adobo bowl. Three come to an order, each resting on a jicama«taco shell» with sriracha, cilantro and pickled red onions. A great side to share!

Oink oink! Crispy pork belly lovers would enjoy Oi Asian Fusion quite a bit. If you like Chego, Rice Bar, and similar bowl places, you’ll definitely like this restaurant. Located on Hollywood Blvd in a plaza adjacent to Barnsdall Park in East Hollywood, lies Oi Asian Fusion. The menu consist of rice bowls mostly of Filipino influence. Filipinos know their pork so if you love pork belly, this place makes it crispy in two versions: adobo or umami gravy. I tried the umami gravy version which had the gravy itself, seaweed, scallions, pickled radish, over steamed white rice. Bowls here are made to order so the crispy pork belly was tender with a little fat but not much that melted in your mouth. Umami gravy is similar to that of a mild teriyaki sauce or unagi sauce. Definitely a great bowl. The only thing I didn’t like is that the rice was a bit mushy. They definitely need to watch their quality control with the water levels in the rice cooker. There are a few other bowls from shredded pork, loco moco version, beef, and longanisa(sausage). Along with the bowl, we shared a karaage fried chicken. Basically, Japanese style fried chicken. Also made to order and served hot and crispy with a nice batter. There’s a few dipping sauces to choose from. We chose the the wasabi cream which went well with this appetizer. Pretty sizable for the price. The only thing I wish is that it was seasoned with salt. Batter or the chicken itself was a little bland. The restaurant is slim and narrow which provided bar type seating on the other side of the kitchen. There’s limited patio seating outside but with the weirdos hanging outside, it’s best to eat indoors. Worth a visit if you’re near by East Hollywood.

Came here on a Friday night for dinner. It’s located in a plaza, next to a Fish-N-Chips place and a laundromat. I had no problem finding parking in front. Simple set up, The cashier recommended Pork belly & umami gravy and tapsilog bowl so I got them both. It took about 10 minutes to get our food because we were the first ones there for dinner, I guess. Both very well priced.(everything is $ 8 – 14, depending on what you add onto the bowl, etc) Cashier and the worker were both super nice and friendly. Pork Belly & umami gravy bowl was pretty good, but I can see that it may be a bit too heavy for some people. I thought the umami gravy went really well with the pork belly, super well cooked and juicy. Tapsilog bowl was off the chain, forreal. I scraped every last bite out of my bowl and ended up ordering their karaage chicken. It was a solid Japanese style fried chicken, nothing special, but super solid. Overall, this is a good place. I’m not sure how«authentic» this place is but I love fusion food so I’ll prolly make lot of trips back here.

Impressive. Most impressive. As I’ve mentioned before, Filipino food has yet to come into its own in America — once someone makes the Kabuki equivalent for Filipino food, I’ll say that it has. In the meantime, I’ve been waiting to see what the watershed moment will be. Rice Bar got a lot of cheers, and while I enjoyed it, it hadn’t hit that point of quality. Oi came up on my radar while Unilocaling around Churro Borough(which I have yet to go to because of their erratic hours). First of all, this isn’t downtown so it’s automatically amazing in parking by context. More and more, that counts for way more in my book. The restaurant itself is a little small, but it’s spacious compared to the cramped Rice Bar. Employees are very kind and attentive and the prices are pretty reasonable. I had their signature burger(with pretzel bun) and the Tapsilog(on two separate occasions!) — and both were amazing. I am more partial to the latter as it hews closer to its roots. The beef was very tender and their spicy vinegar concoction was so tasty, I showered my rice with it. The only(minor) issue I had with it was that they had no ice, and hey — I like my water cold. Aside from that, this is undoubtedly a great addition to the neighborhood.

My friend described it perfectly when he said that this place was something you go to when you want to order out for a meal for one. The rice bowls are solid, but it’s definitely better enjoyed at home while you’re watching netflix pretending that your Asian mom just prepared it for you. Adobo Bowl(8) — braised pork belly, adobo sauce, soft boiled egg, scallions. My friend described this as okay. Needed a stronger sauce to flavor the rice. Pork Belly & Umami Gravy(8) — braised pork belly, umami gravy, seaweed, scallions, pickled red radish. The umami gravy was excellent. The pork belly was plentiful and fatty. Wish it came with an egg. Tapsilog(8.50) — marinated thinly sliced angus beef, garlic rice, fried egg, pickled red radish. This was okay. The meat was crispy. Dynamite sweet fries(5) — sweet potato fries, dynamite sauce, garlic confit, cilantro. Nothing too special here. More like filler. This place is a nice slow-fast casual joint for the neighborhood. I like that it had a family owned feel. The cashier and chefs were all young Filipino folks striving to make good affordable meals. It’s a nice addition to the«Filipino food movement» everyone keeps trying to make happen.

First time trying it today with my boyfriend. Seeing as to how I’m cutting back on my red meats I decided to go with the Chicken Longaniza bowl. It was really delicious and quite filling. The chicken was served in the shape of a patty(which i didnt expect) yet that didnt get in the way of the flavor, which is on the sweeter side. It came with a sunny side up egg on top, nothing spcial but complimented the rice. Lots of rice was served, i wasnt able to finish it. The red chili sauce was so good I didn’t even touch the Sriracha. This dish did take a little longer than the other dish to come ou, but that’s no big deal. My boyfriend had the Adobo bowl, and although I told myself I wouldn’t eat red meats, I just HADTO take a bite of this dish. The pork belly was so tender! It melted in my mouth. The flavor of the sauce was so delicious it had me wanting to trade my plate. This also came with rice along with an egg on top, which looked great.(According to my boyfriend the egg was good but no flavor that made it anything special). Overall he fell in love with the dish and the place! Love the look, cute spot, very clean and simple, the glasses of water bottles are cool and fun to drink in. Their coconut water with the pulp is pretty good also. Workers are friendly, no complaints about my first experience. Can’t wait to go back!
