Go here for the veggie options. Went here once with family for my bday and once with my bf spontaneously. The food was amazing each time. The service was not super on point but it was busy so I will give them that. Shoot for great service all the time consistently for the win… atmosphere is lovely. Drinks drinks and more drinks :) we will be back soon

Mohawk is a good place for bdays(but you have to have a minimum spend of $ 500 + an additional 20% tip) — you can take this rad room upstairs that seats up to like 17 people. This room is pretty cool, you sit above the restaurant and look down on all the peasants.(lol jk) Hard to find a spot that won’t charge you and arm and a leg for a large event. Mohawk is known for their craft beers and pizzas(and of course the buffalo cauliflower) but the rest of the fare is low key pretty good. Their burger, I’m sad to say, is meh — but their salads are actually a nice option. I would recommend coming, getting a shit ton of appetizers(Arancini, Bacon Wrapped Dates, Brussels) and then maybe a salad — if you so please. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, Valet out front to do the running. Large restaurant — so easy to walk in. Pro-tip: post dinner drinks at Bandini across the street.

this would have been a three-star rating, but there was a hair in my salad & although it was exchanged for a non-hairy salad, traditionally a manager should at least visit the table express horror and apologies for such a thing happening on their watch. the presence of a prominent hair on a salad also begs the question of the cleanliness of the kitchen and expediters both. the«fun guy» half pizza was tasty, with carmelized onions, goat cheese, mushrooms, and a tad of mozarella. but the whole hygiene issue over-hung everything, the meal was not comped, which it most certainly should have been, and we won’t be back. basically, blech.

Tasty beer! I tried the Blood Orange Wit by recommendation from our waitress, and loved it! It was flavorful and delicious, but not overpowered by the orange flavor. The beer complemented our pizzas perfectly! Pizzas are yummy and fluffy! I tried the OMG Thang(my favorite), Banh Mi(least fave), and Pig Newton. The OMG Thang had a bunch of meat(and cherry tomatoes!) so it had lot of flavor and was very filling. However, the Banh Mi was lacking in flavor… I felt like the tofu was barely marinated and nothing stood out to me on the pizza. I wish there were more options for food/appetizers on the Happy Hour menu, so I could try even more of their foods! We came during happy hour, and I would have been happy to enjoy more drinks and pizza at Mohawk Bend! My only concern was that almost all of the glasses they provided for water were dirty, which wasn’t very reassuring for the restaurant itself. We also had fun in the photo booth, so we had a little vintage b&w souvenir to take home after our first trip here! I will definitely be back with friends to taste test more of their beer menu!

Solid 2.5 I’ve been a regular here for the past two years. I’ve had every vegan friendly pizza countless times. Countless amount of cocktails. Dozens of nachos when they used to use cashew cheese. Dozens of brownies w/sorbet. Etc etc. Mohawk Bend has always been the first place I bring someone new to LA! The service used to be amazing. I used to be treated as if I was the only person in the restaurant and the food was always very decent. But the past few visits have been miserable mostly from a service standpoint. Today especially! After asking my server very politely to bring us a carafe of water and a few cups 3 separate times I had to go to the bar and get it myself. She failed to acknowledge this. And it was also interesting to see how quickly she brought newly seated patrons their water. Maybe she didn’t think we would tip well? Maybe 3 requests were too few. Who knows. I wasn’t going to ask. It’s the little things you know? I shouldn’t have to beg for service. We also had to send a drink back for the first time in two years. My cocktail literally tasted like the cheaply Axe brand cologne was laced into it. My grandpa wears that shit and it is very unforgiving. Anyways. Moving forward. I used to be happy to spend 60 $ here for a decent dinner and some cocktails but today I left feeling salty and my tab was sub 20. It was the little details that kept me coming back so frequently. The food is great but the service is hit or miss.

So many hipsters. So much noise. Such a sad array of whiskey. Such disappointing drinks. Too much money to leave that sober and disappointed. I think the waitress had better things to do… Cuz we sure weren’t on her priority list. No gracias.

Given that this excellent venue has already been reviewed over 1,400 times, instead of adding yet another, I’ll instead review the reviews: James S. and 204 other aspiring Sherlocks astutely observe: «Very hipster crowd, ” It’s a vegan-friendly gastropub located in a converted vintage movie theater in Echo Park next to an American Apparel. That’s not just«very hipster,» that’s like hitting a triple Pabst Blue Ribbon jackpot on a slot machine in downtown Vegas while wearing a Member’s Only jacket. Isai C. and 40 other vegetarians who still want their orders to give an ironic nod to the mammals they no longer consume mention the buffalo style cauliflower. Which reminds me: since when did«buffalo-style» so firmly enter the culinary lexicon that everyone seems to know what it means but me? I’m guessing it means following a Guy Fieri inspired TGIFridays recipe and served by a Hooter’s gal insensitively garbed in a Native American headdress. Rachel A and 193 others are clearly just phoning their reviews in by mentioning«Fries» usually preceded by the descriptor«crisp» or «salted.» Thanks guys. If I’m ever at a total loss for where to find the extremely rare delicacy known as «fries,» I’ll be sure to head over to Mohawk Bend, assuming I can crawl out from under the ten ton rock that I no doubt had hitherto called my home for the past two centuries. Katie B. and 188 vegans mention«vegan» an average of 24 times while another 368 non-vegans reply«yes, we know.» Gerry L and 47 others mention the Pig Newton pizza while Katbaggins R. and 48 others call it a Pig Newman pizza. Or perhaps there are two pizzas, one topped with bacon and figs and another topped with non-profit Spaghetti Sauce and Seinfeld references. Jesse R. and 40 other reviewers mention the Abe Froman pizza, while 38 of those fail to mention Ferris Bueller’s Day Off either because they figure we’re cool enough to get the reference on our own, or were born years after the film was released and assumed Abe Froman was the name of the father on That 70s Show.

Loved it! Great happy hour, service and food. Cool, casual vibe but not pretentious. I got the vegan burger, yummmy. My fiancé wanted the toppings of the vegan burger but with real meat, no problem! We went on a Thursday night and it was happening. Our server(tall, thin man) gave really good service!

Great beers, great food, good looking mix of people including professionals, hipsters, musicians and hustlers. Located on Sunset Blvd in the Echo Park area. Street parking is hit or miss, but since it was a weeknight, we were able to score parking in front of the venue. First timers will probably wonder what they are doing in this part of town, but trust me when I say, gentrification has happened. Plenty of bars, pubs, boutiques, spas, special eateries line this part of Sunset Blvd. The Mohawk Bend looks inviting from the outside. It’s well lit and the signage can’t be missed from the street. You will notice the outdoor patio with a fair amount of available seating. Once inside, you will see an open kitchen area and a very long bar(with seating) opposite. In the middle, you will have plenty of shared tables with bar stools. In the back, there are more tables and a fireplace. Beer menu was great. I opted for Smog City’s Sabre-tooth Squirrel. which is a 7% American Ale that offers plenty of hop — #fan. Food menu looked inviting, but I substituted the useless carbs of an extra beer for the food! If you’re looking for an alternate spot from DTLA to hang out, the Echo Park and Silver Lake areas rock. They have their own eclectic customer base, so you have an opportunity to see fresh faces. Tip: Get your workout done early and have your«cheat meal» at the Oinkster! Enjoy!

This place is my new favorite spot for brunch. They have a pretty large selection of dishes on the brunch menu and the mimosas are made with a cider instead of champagne. I ordered the Huevos Divorciados and I also got to try the Buffalo Cauliflower. I wasn’t completely sure how the buffalo cauliflower would taste… I’m normally not a fan of cauliflower. BUT the buffalo cauliflower was really good! Usually when I have cauliflower, it’s kind of hard but the texture of the buffalo cauliflower at Mohawk Bend tasted similar to boneless buffalo wings. The Huevos Divorciados were also good. Not only was the food good, it was also affordable. I paid less than $ 20 for my meal. Our waitress was great also. She was able to describe the different items on the menu and answer questions. I came with a large group of 11 people. Before we had to ask, our waitress took it upon herself to split our checks based on whose check was around the same amount(I spent $ 17.97, she put me and two other people in my party who also spent around $ 17.97 on the same check so we can split $ 53.91 three ways. She did the same with the other people in our party). Mohawk Bend is really spacious. There’s seating outside in the front close to the entrance, there’s a main indoor bar area and there’s also another large room in the back with brick walls, skylights and a big fireplace. It’s an awesome place to watch a football game. Parking wasn’t bad… it was easy to find a parking spot on Alvarado street. But then again, this was at around 12:30pm Sunday afternoon. I’ll be back… new favorite!

Came here one Saturday afternoon looking for good beers and food, and wasn’t disappointed. I got the cider flight, which had a good variety of options. My boyfriend had a great stout, and their drink menu is very well-rounded, not just a ton of IPAs for the craft beer selection. Food was great as well. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a very vegan-friendly menu. My favorite was the«crab» cake. The atmosphere and décor is warm and inviting, and this place would be perfect for a group meal. There are also lots of seats at the long bar. Parking is street, but that’s the typical LA challenge. I loved this place and would definitely return!

I love the vibe of this place! It’s so warm and inviting. There are fireplaces around the bar/restaurant, and even seating around a fireplace at the very front before you walk in the doors. It was packed when we came in at 8pm on a Friday(New Years Day, mind you), so we went straight to the bar so that we wouldn’t have to wait to be seated. We tried their popular vegan buffalo cauliflower that comes with bleu cheese dressing and celery, and it’s as delicious as everyone says it is! It’s a must-have for sure. I only wish we had ordered more. My husband had the milk stout, which he really enjoyed! We also ordered the able farmin’ pizza to-go, which is topped with cashew cheese, fennel, roasted peppers, and vegan sausage. We were disappointed. It was very bland, so that is why I deducted 1 star. I wish we hadn’t ordered the pizza, and instead tried one of their amazing-sounding desserts… next time! As busy as it was, we received our food quickly and were happy with the service. I love that their menu is mostly vegan. A bar/restaurant with a predominantly vegan menu… only in LA, right? We will definitely come back when we’re in the area to try more of their menu and to enjoy the ambiance!

I’ve passed this place probably a thousand times, and I finally stopped by the other night. My buddy told me about this place, so here we came to have dinner and enjoy some of their many brews. Parking can be found either in the neighborhoods surrounding Sunset Blvd, or you can get valet. We started with two beers and a bowl of asparagus. The asparagus was pretty good, and the beers were smooth. We ended up getting two separate beers each, with a total of four different beers. I always go for the dark Belgian beers. They did not have allagash, but they did have other flavors that I found appealing. I ordered their signature burger, and it hit the spot. The burger was a beef patty, rare, in a white burger roll. The burger usually comes with bacon, but I ordered it without bacon. There are several sides avaiable: fries, sweet potato fries, and side salad. The crowd was a very local hipster hangout. The staff was very friendly, and the service was efficient. I would both repeat and recommend.

Yikes, I guess we were expecting a lot more from this place then we experienced. One stare for the great selection of beers and good cocktails. Great place to meet up and have a couple of drinks. Second star for the ambiance. Great interior, lots of people(not when I was there, but can see how it gets busy) Now for the food. Horrible to say the least. Our waitress was great minus no silverware. We ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and original Burger. The chicken sandwich was one of the worse ones I have had. If it’s on a menu, I get it. Dry, over fried lacking taste. But that was not the worse part of the meal. The burger was just awful. See photo… Does this look like a 12+ burger? You can tell it was sitting out for a while as our food took about 30 min on a late Sunday afternoon where there were not many people eating. I’ll stick to drinks if I’m ever back here, but I doubt I will be back.

I might start visiting California just so I can eat here. I started off with the Black and Blue Cider… Loved it. My boyfriend had the CC Ryder whiskey cocktail. He said it was one of the best he’s had. We were really impressed with the beverage selection! We started out with the buffalo cauliflower with vegan bleu cheese dressing… SOGOOD. It was cooked to perfection with the perfect blend of spicy and creamy. This place is a vegetarian’s dream! I had the soba noodle salad. It was unreal how good it was. I was really impressed MB uses real soba noodles(buckwheat). Most places just use spaghetti noodles and call them soba noodles. It came with the most delicious citrus dressing, crispy onions, and perfectly ripe avocado. I’m in love. The boyfriend had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. He said it was amazing. I tried one of his house made pickles and loved it. I’m sad we have to return home this week, but I will definitely be coming back on my next trip to California!

This weekends adventures took us to Echo Park and Mohawk Bend one thing I know for sure is I will plan more excursions to the area so that we can eat here on the regular. I loved the décor and the relaxed vibe here. The vintage orange chairs just reminded me of my Grandma’s house. We ate in the back room and I can’t wait to come back some evening and enjoy this place when there is a fire in the huge fireplace. The staff was so friendly, our waitress was adorable and knowledgeable on the food and when I asked her about the ½ pours that are available she wasn’t sure checked it and yes I got my halfer. Speaking of beers the selection was amazing. You just have to check it for yourself you will not be disappointed. the food was delish, We started with the Buffalo Cauliflower it was delish, I was a little apprehensive as I am not a huge fan of cauliflower, but it’s one of those veggies that takes on whatever flavor it is added to so I should become a bigger fan and this dish has helped me with this endeavor. Following that we had the Fun Guy this is a mushroom and caramelized onion pizza with roasted garlic chips. This was delicious and was even better as leftovers the next day. The final item was the soba salad not the best pairing with the pizza, but we wanted to try both and it was really good and refreshing filling but not heavy. I will certainly be back for more!

I visited Mohawk Bend on a weekday evening with a friend for dinner. It’s located off of a busy street but we luckily found street parking right in front of the building. The first thing I noticed about Mohawk was the warm lighting that gave the restaurant an inviting air. The front of the restaurant contains a patio with outdoor seating that looked like a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. They had cushioned sofa seating and tables. We decided to dine inside as it was cold out and were given a two person table. The layout of the interior is long and narrow and the latter half of the restaurant includes a bar along one side. For our meals we decided on the brussel sprouts to start. They were served with crispy fried pieces of onion on top. I thought the brussels were just ok. I definitely could have done without them given the size of the pizza and they tasted a bit overcooked. I ordered the PB&J pizza — pineapple, bacon, jalapeño and mozzarella. This pizza was delicious. I love that while the crust was on the flatter side it was still soft and doughy. The combination of the sweet and spicy toppings was exactly what I was looking for. I’d definitely recommend this pizza. My friend had the Italian fields pizza — arugula, cherry tomatoes, mushroom and mozzarella. We swapped a slice of each other’s pizza and I found hers to be light and tasty. The pizzas at Mohawk Bend, while tasty and loaded with plenty of ingredients, both seemed to have a healthier, light element to them. They weren’t greasy or oily and the ingredients were of quality. I wouldn’t come here looking to binge on a greasy pepperoni pizza but more so to enjoy a lighter meal that at the end of the day is still pizza without feeling too guilty about it. The menu consisted of a lot of other pizza options with interesting names and even more interesting topping combinations. I’m looking forward to my next visit when I can try one of their more adventurous pizzas that sounded akin to a meat lover’s. As far as their service goes, it was friendly and quick and after coming back from a trip out of state, Mohawk Bend reminded me how well SoCal can do customer service. I’m definitely keeping Mohawk in mind next time I’m in this part of LA.

Stole away to Mohawk Bend for a quick business dinner and I am a fan! What used to be an old theater is now an expansive eatery with large open spaces, high ceilings, and unique architectural features. Really love the atmosphere! The menu covers an exhaustive vegan spread, although, thankfully, there are non-vegan(marked as NV) options for people like me. A signature dish seems to be the Buffalo Style Cauliflower and after trying it, I can only add to the hype. Cauliflower dressed in a tangy buffalo sauce served with fresh celery on a bed of vegan bleu cheese dressing. I was surprised at how flavorful this dish was and loved that the cauliflower held a great crunch. I’m not one to gravitate towards vegan food, but this dish is a keeper! To nobody’s surprise, I broke the mold and ordered the very NV Smoked Shorty pizza, which comes topped with braised short rib, smoked grapes, red onion, bleu cheese, watercress, and balsamic. If you’re telling me you read that without salivating, you’re lying! The pizza was great — robust flavors, tender meat, and just the right amount of sweetness from the grapes. The highlight, though, was absolutely the crust — perfectly thin but amazingly fluffy and chewy at the same time. It reminds me of the Arizmendi crust, which if you know me, is about as high as my crust praise goes. If you’re a fan of fries, as you very well should be, I recommend the seasoned fries with rosemary gremolata. Citrus notes from the gremolata lend a pleasant tartness and the fries are served hot and crispy. Where is the problem? Overall, I had a great first experience at Mohawk Bend and will definitely make my way back in the near future. It’s located on a busy street in Silver Lake/Echo park so parking is street or valet. Enjoy!

Drove all the way to east hollywood to try this place because of all the hype. Everything in this restaurant is deep fried and extremely oily. Our appetizers took 40 mins to come out but manager was nice enough to take care of it. Other than that, our service was sub par. We ordered buffalo cauliflower, fries, fried Brussel sprouts, sweet potato chips and crab cake and that was most of the appetizers and they are all deep fried. My entrée was the Mediterranean platter which was deep fried falafel with olive tapenade and a side of carrot hummus and a overly dressed simple salad. It’s hard to find healthy options unless you want a salad and that’s it. Everything else on the menu is like a bar with everything deep fried. Even the classic burger was oily and the bun had a layer of oil slathered on it or maybe butter. My stomach feels like it’s been coated with thick oil. I don’t understand the reviews for this place. Lot of vegan gluten free options but extremely UNHEALTHY options.

I’m a fan of Mohawk Bend. There’s a huge selection of beers. I think most, if not all of the beer and liquor, are local. The place has a nice vibe to it, very hipster and trendy for sure. The wait is long during peak bar hours(Thurs — Sat night), but there’s open seating at the bar. The food is alright, the times I was there, I had the fish and chips, a burger(can’t remember which one), and an Abe Froman pizza. The fish and chips were decent, and so was the Abe Froman pizza, which is a personal size pizza. But the burger was pretty average. Next time I’m back, I’d like to try the fish tacos, which looked really good. But the real winner is their happy hour. I came late on a Tuesday evening, around 10pm, and some of their drinks were $ 4.50. So reasonable! Definitely come here, with the huge beer selection, I’ll be here a lot more times, maybe I’ll end up trying all of them!
