Eh, I should have checked the reviews before coming here. I live down the street and was in need of some quick, inexpensive food. I had walked by several times and had even tried to order food at the counter, but no one ever comes out or pays attention to take my order. I tried again and it was nothing special. There’s a little bit of a language barrier, but luckily, my junior-high-level Spanish(«torta de asada, para llevar») got me through. I also ordered a fresh orange juice. If you spend less than $ 10 on a credit/debit card, there is a $ 2 charge. A little ridiculous, but I was hungry. This mercado is attached to a little carneceria that has always looked good. The convenience store has the usual goods and even produce and baked goods, plus a counter where you can order prepared food(burritos, tlayudas, quesadillas, breakfast omelets and pancakes, etc) and also fresh juices and smoothies. There is also ice cream… if any of my friends who are familiar with Oaxacan cuisine can tell me what«tuna ice cream» is, I would love that. Anyways, you wait for your food on a little patio on the other side. I was the only person waiting for an order, and it was slooooowwww. Finally, I took my food home. The asada was gristly and fatty, with burned, crispy edges. The bread wasn’t soft like I’m used to, and it was just underwhelming in general. It also came with some overcooked, seasoned fries. Nothing special here.

This place sucks. Very RUDE. The meat was really fatty and chewy. Thought it would be good and authentic turns out it wasn’t. I definetly do not recommend this place! I’d you’re looking for a great Mexican food Unilocal deal take your money to H.O.T on Hollywood Blvd!

This small little restaurant is inside a market so it’s pretty easy to miss. They have a pretty good selection of Mexican food, like tortas, sopes, burritos, and ½ chickens, for an affordable price. I got the special #2 with a(carne asada) burrito, handmade-tasting tortilla chips, and a can of soda for $ 5.25. The burritos was HUGE and was filled with asada, some rice, beans, cheese, and some guacamole. It was a great meal for a great price and I will definitely come back. Also, the cashier was super nice and very accommodating of all my requests!
