MAC Cosmetics Nordstrom

I came here yesterday and found myself lost in a sea of lipstick. I’m about two shades short of a piece of toilet paper, so picking a color that doesn’t make me look sickly is hard. My first impulse was to smear them all on my pasty arms and hold them up to my head to see which colors clashed the least with my unruly copper hair.
I’m HORRIBLE at shopping to begin with, and makeup is not my forte. Luckily I was helped by a sweet gal who knew her sh*t. She also didn’t rush me like most places do! THAT surprises me. Did I mention I was dressed like a professional couch potato and had little makeup of my own on? I probably didn’t look like a serious customer. I have the memory of a goldfish, but my receipt has her listed as «Guity R.» — so that must be her! (Derp!)
I came just for lipstick and some sort of liner. I LEFT with so much more! (And not against my will either! haha. I’ve just never had someone take the time to show me stuff without rushing me!!) Lip primer, lipstick, eye khol, concealer, two eyeshadows, regular primer, brow powder and brushes. Oh – and a blush that, when applied, doesn’t make me look like I have pissed off skin.
I love my full done-​up face today, and I’ve had so many compliments. The blush is a shade I never would have tried, because it looks so dark in the container. On my skin it looks perfect though! I LOVE makeup, I’ve just never been good at picking out colors that go well together /​slash/​make me look like a hot gingery mess.
So happy I was helped by someone who didn’t hurry me. THANK YOU, GUITY R.!! I friggin love it!!! And I think from here on out, I’ll be a return MAC customer. Whodathunkit?

Yesterday I came into this Mac cosmetics counter for the second time. I didn’t have the best experience the first time. It was a few years ago and the lady that helped me was really rude. She basically looked me down and up and referred me to another makeup counter. It didn’t feel good but…
Years passed and I decided to give Mac another chance. I’m really glad I did. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by Kristina S. She was so friendly patient and helpful. She helped me pick out a foundation, concealer and other stuff I needed. She was very knowledgeable and down to earth… not at all what I was expecting based on the experience I had and the experiences my friends have had with the employees at Mac.
I was so pleased with my experience I decided to call Nordstrom to speak to the manager at Mac but I was informed that Kristina was the manager. I plan on writing a letter to corporate about my positive experience here.
