Do U wanna go… to tha’ likka sto’ and get some 8 Ball baby… get some 8 Ball? Try this: go buy some 40’s over here then head over to the El Pollo Loco down the street and get some chicken tacos. Take it home and dine like a King Cobra. I spent a lot of my youth in Atwater during the times when you were afraid to get shot or hit up by a gang member… now there’s some serious GENTRIFICATION up in here. I actually don’t feel scared anymore. M&W is a solid liquor store that existed before the BevMo’s of the world came into the picture. Give this local business yours!

This is my neighborhood corner store and there are some GREAT things about it. First, the ATM only charges $ 1! They have a large cheap wine selection(it has expanded toward the back of the store which the owners will point out to you while you browse the front wine area) with prices ranging from some crazy $ 4 special to in the $ 20’s. Maybe higher but I wouldn’t be looking at those prices. The two people I’ve seen work there whom I imagine to be the owners are very friendly and helpful and they accept credit cards. They also are more of a convenience store than merely a liquor store. They have candy, household cleaning products, tampons, pet food, etc. A positive anecdote: There are some drunks who hang out on the corner all day, sometimes lying on the sidewalk. The other day one of them approached my boyfriend who thought he wanted money at first but no, the guy said he was an alcoholic and the people inside wouldn’t sell him liquor anymore and if he gave my boyfriend money would he buy him some? Yes, it’s a sad story(my boyfriend said no) but I respect M&W liquor for making this judgment call. A sketchy anecdote: M&W sells the cheaper brands of cat food. We feed our cats canned Wellness wet food(fancy!) but in an emergency, if we can’t drive to a store for a few hours and the cats are hungry I’ll run to M&W to buy a can of 9 Lives or Friskies.(Btw the cats LOVE the taste of the cheaper stuff, I think it’s like McDonald’s to them.) The first time I did this I looked under the cans at the expiration dates because some of the cans were very dusty and saw that somethe had expired over a year ago! I brought a can up to the woman at the front who I think is an owner to show her because I thought it was an oversight. She let me know that the expired cans are priced lower(turns out they all are, I think 20 cents lower) and that some of the customers prefer to pay less and get the expired food. It’s in a can and it’s probably fine but that experience sketched me out a little and is why 5 stars got lowered to 4. Otherwise, great place!

This place is your run of the mill neighborhood liquor store. All its missing is a Pac-Man arcade quarter slot game and some scoop served icecream. They have an assortment of liquor behind the register… so for you alcoholics that like the cheep stuff you can walk out with some $ 6 dollar vodka or for you that care about the quality…$ 40 vodka. Top shelf and bottom shelf alcohol can be found here. Beer selection is mostly domestic and mexican variety. most people that shop here are from the local area, so you will find some toiletries and some food… cup0noodle variety. But i come here for the lotto tickets. Im mostly up than down on scratchers here. and its oh so convenient.

I Fucking love this place. It’s a 2 min walk from my pad and they’re always stocked with Arizona iced teas. It’s Fucking hilarious that have pics posted of people that have previously don’t beer runs. Hahahaha wow. But yeah, love this place. Convenient and friendly.
