Always wanted to stop by and after 7 years I finally did! Ordered a turkey, Swiss and avocado sandwich on a bagel. It was DELICIOUS. Great quality meat, great quality produce, great quality bagel. And the exact right amount of avocado: tons. Service could not have been better! My deli man was a delight! Now to the real game changer: THEBRITISHFOODSAISLE!!! Heinz baked beans, marmite, vegemite, chutneys, Cadbury, aerobars, digestive biscuits. Dying! Hopefully next time they’ll have walker crisps and Jaffa cakes!!!

I rented an airbnb off of lookout mountain and for a whole month this little store off of Laurel canyon has saved my life. Whenever rush hour traffic swayed me from wanting to stop to buy groceries, the Laurel canyon country store would glow down the road beckoning to solve all my problems. Also they have great wines most of them affordable and some for last minute gifting. Get the pastrami sandwich its unforgettably delicious and fresh.

Really amazing piece of rock n roll history! Fair prices and great people. Lots of character! Definitely a place to visit for anyone interested in the 60s movement in Laurel canyon!

There’s the country market in the canyon that feels like another place and time. The people are welcoming and friendly. I like to come here and have a sandwich from the deli or a cup of coffee, I order the Americana so good. «There’s a store where the creatures meet.»

Have passed by this country store for years and finally went in, I’d say it’s an LA institution. It’s a store where they get to know your name or in my case the cashier offered to let me use his phone because my phone died and I wanted to make a call. I wonder if they sell coffee in the morning…

Beautiful little store, with a community feel, tucked away in laurel canyon. They have everything you need from the ingredients you need to complete your dinner recipe to an amazing wine selection and even breakfast options. I love the café stand they have out front, they offer delicious fresh coffee and pastries. This place is seriously the BEST!!!

This place is really handy if you live in Laurel Canyon or you’re on your way somewhere and taking the canyon. They have a great little deli counter with ready-made salads and made to order sandwiches. The coffee cart outside manned by Lilly and Spike is a great spot for a catch up with excellent coffee served with a smile. The rest of the store has most things to cover immediate grocery needs. Not a large selection but perfect if you’re in a hurry and don’t want to go too far. The store has been there for years and is a touchstone in the community, solidified by a neighborhood picture day once a year. Good times.

This is such an OG store — I love all the guys there, Tommy and the gang! They always make me feel welcome and her down for a chat. They have a great selection and they’ve kept the integrity of the old-school Laurel Canyon feel. They are so great about promoting the works of Canyon residence and always down to lend a hand when it comes to events in the canyon. Rock on guys

Absolutely in love with this place. It’s my little escape from the hustle and bustle of L.A. Doesn’t hurt that the coffee is great too!

Very convenient. Love the owners. Yes, a bit pricey but convenience in the canyon has a cost. Good wine selection. Love supporting a small, privately owned biz.

The sandwhich was pretty good although very light on the mayo & mustard and they put a lot of meat in the sandwhich and very litte vegetables or toppings. Kind of bland in that way. Also just for a sandwhich and a drink it was $ 16! Insane!

A hippy hideout in the hills. Prices are a bit higher, but it has that feel of a little mountain store — I mean, the goods were carried up by pack mule, how could it not cost a little extra? I had a damn fine pastrami sandwich there today. Cool spot, and there are far too few places with real character in L.A. these days.

I read a ton of books about music, specifically anything about the classic days of the 60s and 70s and Laurel Canyon fits right into that scene. I’ve heard the Laurel Canyon Country Store mentioned many times in those books, also the Pamela Des Barres rock tour takes you here, I’ve never been but I’ve heard on one of their stops. Ok that’s my nerd moment, so on the way to Franklin Canyon Park the other day we passed by and decided to pop in for some drinks and snacks to take with the dogs and us. It’s super cute and country and hometown inside, everyone says hello the second you walk in and somehow it all seems sincere and I’m sure it is. They have all the 7 eleven-type snacks and sodas, but they also have sandwiches, a deli, coffee, and a bunch of homemade soaps and little trinkets you wouldn’t find at a dirt nasty gas station or anything less charming than a country store located right above the Sunset Strip. They also have a huge wine selection and not just the gnarly Boons Farm garbage in the fridge section. There’s also outdoor picnic table type seating in front, plenty of parking, and a hippie feel. I’m sure it’s nothing like the old days, and as I often wish I was born earlier so I could have experienced those times, I’m also glad I did miss a time when hygiene was not a top priority. Make sure to also try Pace restaurant next door for dinner, it’s the best and the history behind that place is insane, there’s also tons of awesome photos all over the walls to suck in that music history.

Between stops to the store on the way to the house, to grabbing miscellaneous items I need after dining at Pace, to the deliveries when I am up the hill and don’t want to leave the house, I am pretty much in touch with this joint on the regular. I am proud to be a local and frequent customer of an establishment that has such a rich history in the canyon going back to the 60’s.

So I am here just about everyday, so I figured it was about time I reviewed them. I love just a bit above the store and go there for: — Coffee in the morning. Lily is the most beautiful woman and attracts the best of all coffee and pastry lovers! Hands down the best croissants I’ve ever had and quality coffee! — Deli Sandwiches — #3 on sourdough(no mustard) is my ultimate sandwich and always appropriate. — Anything I ever need! Whether we are out of sour cream or olive oil or garbage bags — they have everything! Things Ralph’s just can’t give you: — $ 1.50 face wipes that are my go to face beauty secret — $ 3.99 espresso instant coffee that has a hint of maple and best served black. And last 2 weeks! — $ 5SMALLSLICEDSANLUISSOURDOUGH! My favorite bread — the perfect size — and enough bread to last 2 whole weeks and it doesn’t go bad! For $ 5!(note: that was a secret. do not take my bread.) The staff, management and owners are AMAZING!!! The best people all with different personalities and stories! I am so lucky to live in Laurel Canyon and even luckier to have this neighborhood store!

one would think a smoothie could be found here. among the ample refrigerated beverage cases, a row of odwalla or naked juice perhaps? but no, the beverages to be had here are more of the mixer variety, as in something that helps dilute the ready assortment of chilled vodka and other liquors ready to keep the party going. perhaps the canyon store’s concession to los angeles trendiness is indicated by its ample kombucha variety and its wee basket of vegan, gluten free, naturally sweetened breakfast cakes in the front. unfortunately, this little girl was hoping for some fruit, in either smushed smoothie form or fresh, but the paltry selection of red delicious apples, bananas stuck in a corner, or chopped melon in the deli counter just didn’t appeal…

Love this place. I always stop for beer and cigaretts when I am heading home. Course I don’t smoke.
