Great place to get a Deli sandwich. Wouldn’t know it was there unless you walked into the place. It’s a small liquor market. Good place to get your snacks too.

This is an awesome place to grab lunch, it’s fresh, tasty and the price unbeatable. You would never think to come here because of the location and the look of the outside but definitely should give it a try the people here give friendly service and it’s fast.

Love this place! Great tasting fresh sandwiches and they carry my favorite drink Big Red! I always order the number 1, don’t remember the name of the sandwich. Can get pretty busy around lunch time but either way they are very quick, your food is ready in a blink of an eye.

The sandwiches are good. The prices are good. The selections of random stuff in the place are good. The service is good. It’s just plain good. Not amazing, but a totally solid good. What’s wrong with good? Nothing at all. $ 10 minimum on cards just an FYI.

Lanza brothers is very known in Lincoln Heights. I came here when I was a little girl and now I bring my own little family. We are here a few times out of the month. This place will never get old. Love it !

This is one of maybe 10 places left in LA where you can get a really solid sandwich.

ordered the #1 and the bread was hard and the ham was grisly… not my favorite sandwich by any means. Really wanted to like this place since it’s so close to work but I just didnt…$ 10 minimum to use a card so bring cash… on a side note, bought chocolate from the store(twix bites and milky way bites) to share w my coworkers, both were old and was really embarrassed since the chocolate was white and stale :(

Great sandwiches and not selfish with the meat like some other sandwich spots(subway). The smoked turkey sandwich was delicious with alot of turkey, make sure you add the avocado it’s worth it. The only negative is there is a $ 10 minimum if you are going to use your debit card. So if you have cash bring it.

This unassuming deli which doesn’t look much from the outside makes REALLYGOODANDFRESHSANDWICHES!!! I think this place has been around for a while and for good reasons. They use fresh rolls & good quality deli meats and most of their sandwiches are $ 4.75 to $ 5.75. Service is always QUICK and FRIENDLY so if you’re on the go, this place is a good option for a quick bite. Sometimes there’s a line but don’t worry, they keep that moving pretty fast! And as a testament to how legit Lanza is, their customers are from all walks of life(ie. business professionals in suits, cholos, bums who scraped up enough change for a sammich, white, Hispanic, Asian, etc.). It’s in the industrial part of town so it might come across as sketchy but don’t let that deter you from experiencing Lanza’s goodness!!! It’s pretty safe… at least during the day. haha Street parking only but there’s plenty of spots! They also have a few tables outside for al fresco dining!

I’m impressed! I had no idea there would be a great little deli & market in such an industrial part of LA. Shout out to Roland R. for letting me know about this place! I decided to pop in after having this place bookmarked for a while. The market shares the same block with a tattoo parlor and a smoke shop.(How very LA.) If you are coming from Chinatown, it’s just past the San Antonio Winery and right by the UPS Customer Center. After going through the menu and several Unilocal pics, I decided to go with the(#1) Italian Special. This lovely sandwich comes on a French roll with ham, Italian, salami, mortadella, capicola and(white) cheese. All the sandwiches automatically come with mayo, mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomatoes. And if you want to add avocado, it’s only $ 1. I had everything on my sandwich(including the avocado) and it was really good! The bread was not stale and the sandwich wasn’t soaking with condiments. A hit!(You also have a choice between spicy or mild peppers to go with your sandwich.) I read some reviews where some Unilocalers preferred Subway over Lanza’s and I think that’s just crazy. Subway is NASTY. Eat fresh? My ass! The guys at the deli are super friendly. The gentleman making my sandwich could tell it was my first time there and he welcomed me, which I thought was really sweet. The young lady working the register was really sweet too. :) Everything on the menu was pretty cheap so I can see why so many locals stop by. $ 10 minimum charge in order to use a card, Unilocalers! Parking was easy to find, right in front of the store. I shall return but not at night! The surrounding area is Avenues(gang) territory, so be careful you guys.

I’ve been coming here for years. I love the freshness and variety. Don’t expect a trendy Los Angeles café style type place. It’s been around since 1926 and owned by an Italian family(according to KCET) so if your interested in some LA history, definitely a place to visit. Not much seating outside though but be creative. Located near San Antonio Winery.

Closest thing to a bodega. Just wish they sold egg and cheese on a roll. The use homeboy bread. The rye is not standard Jewish rye, but it works. The tuna is simple, not too mayod out. The turkey is always good. They pile on meat for the sandwiches and the price is right. Tons of chips and drinks to choose from as well. Great spot in Lincoln heights.

If you’re heading into Downtown LA, want something good and cheap, plus don’t want to pay/fight for parking… stop here first. My dad has been taking me to get sandwiches from this place for years. The sandwiches are pretty damn awesome. I generally get the roast beef or turkey and both are great. Way better option than subway. Plus the liquor store its attached to has a decent soda and snack selection. It’s pretty much a quick one stop for good cheap food and drink with nobody inside.

Best sandwiches. Always good, always fresh, and quick service. Connected to a mini mart so your choosing for chips and drinks are vast. The sandwiches are enough but it’s nice to have the option. The Italian special sandwich is by far the best and is what they are known for which is why it is #1 on the menu. Not the best place to eat here due to the industrial area and the four chairs at most outside.

I don’t give too many 5 stars, but when I do, I notice that it’s for places like this. Located on a very busy street in a blue collar side of town you’ll find this little gem. If you’re familiar with the area, it’s literally right before you hit the San Antonio Winery, if you’re coming the way of the 5fwy. There are a few small tables out front to enjoy your food, it’s noisy(obviously) but pleasant. The sandwich menu is extensive for such a small joint, but simple. The works(Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Purple Onion, Mayo & Mustard) is how it goes but you can customize and they offer about 4 bread selections and of course you can add avocado for an small fee. Get in line, look at the menu, place you order, grab your drink and chips or brew or whatever else you may need from here and you can pay at the register while they finish your sammie. There is a 10.00 minimum if you use your card. Parking is also scarce on Main, I suggest to hang a right on Ave 17 and make a right on the 1st small street and park there. It’s a little shady at first because there’s a junk yard right as you turn, but then theres some nice little houses and it’s pretty clean back there. It’s literally like 50 steps to the front door. You can also park on Ave 17, but park on the side of the junk yard, but it gets pretty tight. As for the sandwichs, I got the PMT(Ham, Italian Salami, Capocollo, and Cheese) basically the same as the Italian, minus the mortadella. It’s definitely fresh, but I was hoping for it to be flowing over with meat… but it wasn’t. That doesn’t make it any less delicious and maybe I was being greedy. The bread is where it’s at! A nice fresh french roll. Nice crisp outside and soft and fluffy inside. Definitely worth the 5.25. You will never catch me at the campus eateries anymore or subway now that I have tried Lanza Bros.

Sandwiches are the way, the light, the life. Bread is good. Gluten might be wrong, but for now it’s alright. The French gave us the baguette, and it isn’t broken yet. French bread will probably never break, and therefore never needs fixing. Every country has their take on bread, think about it, it’s a wonderful thought. What does your country do? That’s the people’s take – bread and butter – and I’m interested to know. A simple textural vehicle for what goes inside, and every meal isn’t necessarily the last. I stop at Lanza Brothers Market and Deli to get a veggie sandwich for myself(with cheese), and an Italian special(#1), for the secretary, who is always looking out for me. It keeps us in good standing. That’s the power of a sandwich. They have many choices but they keep it simple: French bread, mayo-lettuce-onion-tomato-mustard-pickle is their«everything», avocado is an extra buck(except on the veggie, that’s the«meat» in the veggie). It gets made in minutes, because it’s all there on the line, ready to be assembled. It gets packed in a paper bag with a wax pencil scribble on it, to let you know what’s what. I recommend it, and I’ll include a picture of the menu.

For about $ 5.25 you can get a really tasty fresh sub sandwich. I usually get the Italian sub. It comes in a nice fresh bolio-type roll and they fill it with all the Italian meats and veggies. Remember to ask for your yellow pepper chilies: they have spicy and mild ones. They make a great addition to your sub:) They are located off of Main right close to the 5 fwy. They Are also a liquor/convenience store so you can pick up a side of chips for your sub and a soda or a beer;). What ever floats Ya boat!

I usually pack lunch for work but there are some days when I’m just way too lazy to pack my own lunch. And then I’m left frantically looking for somewhat decent places to eat during my hour lunch break. On this particular day, I was starving and carless. This meant that I had to find someplace within walking distance and one that won’t cost more than $ 6 because that’s all the money I had in my wallet at the time. I found this deli a block or so away from my work and I’ll be honest, it was the line that drew in me. There was a line at this run down liquor shop for sandwiches. I figured it wasn’t going to get any better. All their sandwiches are pretty cheap and won’t cost you more than $ 6 tops unless you’re adding an insane amount of toppings. I chose their Veggie sandwich with avocado and cheese at $ 5. The sandwich itself was bigger than I thought it would be. The bread was soft and chewy, there was enough filling in my sandwich that I didn’t miss the meat at all. I wouldn’t go as far to say that it was the best deli sandwich I’ve had, but it’s a solid no fuss sandwich joint that serves up some quick and tasty food. It’s also a mini mart so you can grab some chips and a drink with your sandwich for a complete lunch. 4⁄5

Honey Ham Sammich! OMG to die for! Honestly I love the sandwiches here! So yummy and so worth you stopping and looking for parking! Big selection of drinks & chips to go along with your favorite sandwich. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is the parking situation. Honestly it’s really bad but like I said I do not mind walking from a long distance to get myself a sandwich from this place.

Great Sandwiches! Wedged between Dogtown and Lincoln Heights on Main St. is a hole in the wall Italian Deli and liquor store. I’ve passed this place up so many times growing up, and never stopped until two days ago. I’m so glad I finally gave this place a chance. The owners were super nice and so were the employees. The sandwiches were sooooo good! I ordered the italian sandwich and it was filled with different cold cuts all placed upon a french roll. My daughter had a ham and cheese and she ate most of it. My aunt had the smoked turkey with avocado and that was very good. Great place to stop by if you’re in the neighborhood or if you want to grab a sammy before hitting up the Dodger game. One more thing, the sandwiches are very inexpensive!
