Very upsetting — food was horrible. I keep giving this place a chance and it always lets me down. I really think that they give you their old meat on «to go» orders. Hard, crunchy, and charcoal tasting pieces of meat that makes me just throw the food right into the trash. They should be ashamed to be doing this to their customers. I am done with this place — you may get one good meal out of them, but then prepare yourself for several disappointing meals before you get an acceptable one.

Best tacos! Been coming here since 1980 with my parents, I’ve mostly eaten at the truck outside, best tacos ever. Big, full of juicy fresh meat, onion, cilantro and I love their red sauce. Inside the horchata is bomb and their huevos rancheros & beans, so authentic. Asada burritos delicious and big.

Can they please get rid of the RUDE, bitter old women who are seriously THEWORST waitresses I have ever had! It’s a small place that most people would just drive by thinking it was some abandoned building so for them to treat their local customers like garbage speaks volumes. It’s seat yourself type of place so my grandma and I walked in. took a seat and then patiently waited for our waitress to finish up her«chismes» with her friend that was sitting at the table next to us. She writes the order down and drink w/o ever making eye contact. I tell her thank you just because my mom raised me right and she just walks away. 20 min later we get our food/drinks. food is great. never get refills for our drinks. then have to ask her 3x for our check. Never again!!! PS they randomly play music WAAYYYY too loud!

I would have given it at 5 star but last night was my last time dining at this place. Ive been coming here since i could remember. My family and I would come from florence every sunday to have lunch. The memories are endless and the food is just amazing hasnt change on bit, not even the waitress. A couple of months ago i didnt feel like cooking so my boyfriend and I deciede to have a taco Tuesday night. We orderd 8 tacos in total and an horchata. I might have made the mistake of making sure our order was correct but i was honestly to hungry to bother. On our ride back home i was drinking from the horchata and it tasted horrible! We ended up throwing it away. We got home anxious to eat our amazing tacos and bam! Our order was incorrect. Whats so hard of 8 plain carne asada tacos. We got 2 tacos de birria and a torta de birria. Totally ruined our taco Tuesday! Last night my sister and I decided to take my dad out to dinner and he wanted to go here to reminisce. The two witnesses dont know how to work as a team. They both had a lot of dirty tables and some tables had recieved their food before their drinks. It took them a while until they took our order, about 10 minutes after being seated. Our waitress couldnt even get our drinks correct. We waiting about 20 mins to get our food. The waitress had brought out our order along with another tables order. She gave out randomly tacos plates to us. We kindly told her our order was wrong and she insisted that it was correct. First of all i know all about customer service because i have been working as a waitress since i was 14 years old. You dont ever tell your customers that they are wrong or even argue with them. She finally opened her eyes and realized she was wrong, gave us our order correct, and walked away. My dad had ordered menudo which arrived 5 mins after our order. 15 mins later i realized they had forgotten my dads tortillas. I noticed my dad was almost dont with his plate and i stood up and asked the other waitress that we didnt receive the tortillas and told me they should be out soon. I waited patiently and another 15 mins passed and i stood up furious but kindly told the last that we have been waiting for 30mins and nothing yet. The tortilla lady told me with an attitude they were almost done to have a seat and she’ll take them out. I told her okay thank you but ill wait because they’ll never arrive. I sat down in disbelief and disappointment. I was looking around hoping it was only our table having trouble but i soon realized that the table next to us recieved their drinks after recieving their food. Correction! Two of the guys got up, walked to the fridge, and got their own drinks. This place honestly needs new and young witnesses. Sad to say im not ever coming back here again.

After shopping at Food-4-Less we were very hungry, I decided to check my Unilocal app to check out any good restaurants around Boyle Heights. I know my wife and I went Otomisan restaurant on Saturday it’s just two blocks away from Food –4-Less that was a great meal. I notice one restaurant on my Yep app that my brother told me to go La Estrella Restaurant also in Boyle Heights. My brother told me they good tacos and burritos and other Mexican dishes.. I told my wife let’s go to La Estrella when she say ok.. When we arrive at the restaurant we were looking the menu on the wall and then the waitress told us are going to dine in or take out, we told her dine in she told us seat any where and be there to serve you. We been many restaurants and they hand you a menu on thevspot. Butt this place have their menu on the wall with prices to the item. We decided to get two burritos de carne asada for both of us. The restaurant is nice it feel like, you are in Mexico in a good way. The waitress brought us our burritos and a bowl of slice radish and limes to add to the burrito. The burrito was a good size we took a bite of the carne asada burrito it was really good with a good flavor in the meat. One thing that my wife and I notice in the burrito was the hot sauce wow that sauce have a major kick to out taste buds overall burrito was really good. Find these restaurant in Boyle Heights or E.L.A and surrounding areas the food is inexpensive and really good sometime, you to explore different and try different culinary cuisine.

Look if you’re looking for top of the line service or best looking place, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for a hole in the wall with FOODTREASURE, then you’re at the right place. I’ve been here about 3 times with the girlfriend, and the food is DELICIOUS. My favorite dish, the Al Pastor Burritos, is so flavorful and has a kick more than most places. It has great texture, it has a sweet taste at the beginning and then a spice kick at the end. I highly recommend it, it is the best Al Pastor I’ve ever had.(And I’ve had it dozens of different places) I also had the Carne Asada tacos and those are also very good, and they give you free reign to unlimited salsa, cilantro, chopped onions, red pepper. And did I mention the price?! The beautiful creation of the Pastor burrito was a desirable $ 4! I believe the tacos are about a $ 1 each. Like I said, if you’re looking for FANCY, Do not come here. If you’re looking for DELICIOUS and CHEAP, GOHERE!

La Estrella is amazing they sell the best traditional Mexican meals, their best on the menu is their carne asada tacos and burritos. They have a verity of meats to choose from. The burritos are big they are stuffed with meat and cheese which is why I love them. They have regular burrito, or a wet burrito. They have birria and menudo on the weekends which is great. I love to eat here on the weekends when or when I am craving Mexican food and my mom decides not to make any. They also have one of the best horchata drinks in town, If you like king taco horchata you will love this one. Their Jamaica is also good. They serve their food with a great green or red salsa. I have always ate here with my family and they have been extremely nice to us, there was once that the cashier lady was being rude, but other than that they had great service. There is an older lady taking orders and I love it because she reminds me of my grandma when she would sell food at home. They are very nice and patient for those who are indecisive with all the great food they serve. They are also very quick which I love, because I am usually very hungry when I get there. You also have the choice of eating inside or outside. Both inside and out is very clean. Outside they have a taco truck that only serves tacos. I never tried the tacos outside, but I am sure they are good. The only thing that I was not a big fan of is parking. They do not have much parking, because they do share with a laundry mat, and the streets are always busy. There is hardly ever parking, because it is located near a residential area. The place is great and I recommend it if you are looking for good real Mexican food.

Service has gotten REALLY bad &SLOW. I remember when I used to enjoy coming here. I have been disappointed since the last 3 times I have been here. They take 30mins to take your order, another 30 to get your food, 15 mins to even get a refill, lastly 15 mins to get your bill. If I go out to eat it for a resin because I’m HUNGRY.

The food is really good. especially the tacos de lengua. it is a bit small so there’s not that much room for a big group. they also have a taco cart outside. so you have a choice to eat inside or outside.

I’ve been eating here since I was in my mama’s womb and it is so freaking delicioso! If all you want is tacos, then always order from the truck. Tacos MUST be from the truck! My mother complains about the service and waitresses inside the restaurant so either don’t bother with the restaurant or suck it up. WARNING: the tacos are spicy but I can handle it. The asada and pastor tacos are the best. The lengua taco was alright and less spicy. Good thing you can opt out of the chile… but why when it burns sooo sooo soooo good? Also, the restaurant is not very clean but as someone whos has eaten in different cities, states, and countries, I’ll oversee that. As long as they don’t violate food handling, it is all good!

I just had the green salsa CHILAQUILES and I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and let me tell you, it is one of the best I’ve had ever. They scramble the egg perfectly into the tortillas and for $ 6.50 you can’t beat that.

This place is good. Only cause they are open 24 hours. Food is average but the tacos are big. They have soups and other mexican dishes. They also have parking. Small dinning area and restrooms are not the best. They have music and table service and a lunch truck outside.

The tacos at this place are larger than you might expect. That being said I would recommend getting tacos de al pastor… and one sope de asada. When all is said and done go to sleep.
