Those, fellow Unilocalers, are the very words that exited my mouth as I stepped off of the massage bed, reminsecent of Gumby all the while clutching on to the chairs and walls simply to regain composure upon completing our 90 minute sessions at JOY Massage last night.
Relying on fellow like-​minded individuals to provide us with solace after being informed that our usual «go to» spot in DTLA, Emperory… on Spring & 6^th was at capacity, we stumbled upon Joy by way of Unilocal,and I’m calling it fate that they were able to get us in.
Located on the 2^nd level of a bi-​level strip mall on Western and 9^th (IB Plaza), sits this paragon of perfection serving up «beats» for your «back» until 10pm daily.
Knowing in advance that places such as this tend to crowd at the absolute drop of a dime, we Ubered our way over (to prevent undergoing a parking struggle) contacting Joy while in route.
That proved to be duly advantageous as we walked in and were welcomed by smiling faces and readily available masseurs.
Boasting a list of options, from ½ an hour sessions at $ 15 – 20.00, to some as long as 90 minutes — full body, we elected upon the ladder. HEY. ITS BEEN A LONG WEEK!!! The session was $ 50.00 and we were told that payment was due upfront.
Not certain if this is typical, but okay???
As most reviewers have mentioned, we were placed within a smaller, private room and found this to be refreshing as we weren’t required to share space with strangers. There was attire for us to change into… 2 Tommy Hilfiger shirts and some b-​ball shorts that were honestly so comfortable, I’d considered taking them home.
Soon afterwards, our «guys» walked in and we «assumed the position».
— - — - — Heaven help us!!! When I say I felt the bass and treble of an African Zulu tribe beating on my back, BAY-​BEHHHHHH!!!
Uhm…yea.
So after we both woke up and/​or wiped the drool from our faces, we were then told to «turn over»!!!

There ain’t this much massaging in the world! I vaguely recall tipping let alone our ride back home, but last night I slept like butter; woke up a few minutes ago feeling like a crispy C-​note!!!
Yazzz, yazz, yazzzzzz! Joy — ya’ dun’ brought the joy back into my life —- JUST IN TIME FOR ME TO BRING BOOTY BACKKK!!!

I came here an hour before closing with no appointment on a Wednesday night and they were able to accommodate me which was really great.
The woman working the front desk was very sweet and friendly, also, unlike a lot of other foot massage places that put everyone in one large room, this place has a lot of small rooms with doors that close for privacy.
I will say the name through me off, i was expecting cheap foot massages and an emphasis on the typical 30minute foot/​30 minute body massage. Instead, this place really emphasizes 1 hour or longer body massages. I wasn’t even given the option of a foot massage.
The only strange thing was my massage therapist switched half way through the massage. The receptionist did the 1^st half of the massage until the therapist was done with another customer and then he stepped in. They had very different massage styles so it through me off quite a bit.
The massage style was more like a Thai massage with stretching and reflexology

First time going here because my usually go-​to place «thai serene» on Wilshire was booked for the night. I was in dire need of a foot massage so I decided to check this place out.
I was not disappointed. I think this place is owned by a couple and there are 3 to 4 CERTIFIED massage therapists who work here. The place is not big and I think they can only accommodate 2 people at a time. From what I saw, I think they only have 2 beds, but there might be another room in the back?
Credit card is accepted, unlike Thai Serene and the service is very attentive and friendly. Located in a plaza upstairs, it’s very quiet inside and clean. Definitely recommend calling ahead of time to see if they have availability vs. walk-​in, I can tell that this place is going to accrue a lot of business in the upcoming months.

Just like getting a foot massage in San Gabriel, except more expensive, waaay cleaner, and more peaceful.
An hour foot massage only is $ 25, and an hour foot + body massage is $ 30. The massage therapists are painfully strong in a good way. They don’t ask in advance how firm you prefer the massage to be, and they start off strong.
Walked in on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment, but it was no problem. They just called in other staff to take care of us. There are a lot of rooms for privacy, and the therapists keep their phone on silent and don’t really talk amongst each other.
They also have a stamp card. For every 10 visits, you get one massage free!

Clean, attentive, relaxing. Great when you don’t have time for the Burke Williams experience.

I has jet leg so i took massage. They were really nice, clean and massage was so great! Now i feel so relaxed!

My neck was killing me so I decided to stop in JOY this afternoon.
Fortunately, they have a big parking lot so there was no problem finding parking. And upon walking thru the door, I found this shop warm, inviting, and cozy.
I opted for a full body one hour massage. The masseur did a terrific job relieving my neck pain. And I never realized how many knots I had (or used to have after today). I felt like a completely new person.
After the massage was over, I was given hot tea which relaxed me even more; I actually dozed off in my car for a few minutes.
Thank you JOY!!! I will definitely come back again and again and again.
