Had the Salmon Benedict with Tots, California Burrito with an add on of Bacon, side of Mac n Cheese, and a small Jambalaya. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything extraordinary, with the exception of the Mac. The Mac was pretty yummy. On the other hand, the service and execution needs quite a bit of work which is why we won’t be returning. Once we finally got seated, everything from getting our beverage, placing our order and refilling our drinks took much longer than it should have been. To take the cake, we waited about 40 minutes to get our food. The table that had their order taken right before ours was almost done with their meal by the time that we had gotten ours so I couldn’t understand what had happened there. Our burrito was missing bacon and the waitress just mentioned that the kitchen was backed up and asked us if she can get us the bacon on the side instead of offering to have it remade right away. No apology either. Overall food is not bad. They really need to staff more people in the kitchens and wait staff or just don’t fill up the restaurant if the service is going to be lacking.

Service was horrible today. The waitress was rude… like extremely rude. Took over 30 mins to get our water. Food was okay… but because of the service i will not be coming back.

Came here for lunch mid week. The place is hush okay on the ambiance front, definitely has that diner feel, but the food was solid. The menu is huge, lots to choose from. I ended up getting the Cobb salad with blackened chicken-it was delicious. The chicken was flavorful, the lettuce was fresh, and the dressing tasted homemade(I got it with the balsamic Dijon). Would definitely come back here again, had a great lunch.

First time here for lunch! I have heard a lot about this place so I had to give it a try. I had a big party and they had no problem accommodating. We sat outside in the patio, enjoying the beautiful weather and view. The food was excellent! I tried pretty much of all their popular dishes at this visit. The shrimp garlic pasta, jambalaya, omelet, french toast, and crepes for dessert; all of which were amazing! They gave a good amount of shrimp for the garlic shrimp pasta, creamy and delicious. Their jambalaya is made to perfection, light and yet creamy that is perfect to the palate. The portions given are huge, we definitely had leftovers! The service, well I can’t complain! Overall my experience was an awesome one. I will be back Jack and Jill!

Due to the mixed reviews, I didn’t quite know what to expect from this place. My boyfriend and I came here before a concert for a quick bite. Service was great and quick, but it should’ve been as we were literally the only patrons here. That was a little concerning in itself, but the server mentioned they are slow at nights as they’re mainly known for their breakfast. As a courtesy, the server let us try sample sizes of the cheese grits, gumbo, and jambalaya while we were reviewing the menu. The cheese grits were very watery and lacked flavor. I added salt and pepper, but it just didn’t help. However, the jambalaya was GREAT! Well seasoned and flavorful. The gumbo was good. My only gripe about the jambalaya and gumbo is that they put the skin of the chicken in the soup. So when I went to get a spoonful of soup, there was this big chunk of chicken skin in my soup. Not the most appealing thing. I ordered the chicken and artichoke crêpe which came with their JNJ side salad. The side salad is spring mix… I hate spring mix, but the dressing was nice and light. The crêpe itself looked good, but it, too, was light on seasoning/flavor. I added salt and pepper again, but I just didn’t get what I was looking for. My boyfriend ordered the Jambalaya crêpe which he really enjoyed. We also ordered the banana pudding crêpe. The pudding is like a whipped pudding, very rich and thick. The presentation was very weird though. They give you a bowl with the pudding, bananas, and caramel, and then a bowl with one or two crepes. So essentially, you have to «make your own crêpe,» I guess. I don’t know, the server just kind of gave it to us then walked away. Overall, it was ok for what it was, wouldn’t go back unless it was for breakfast, what they’re «known for.»

Wow, I was expecting to see nothing but 5 star reviews. Not sure what Irina’s and Aileen’s experience was but I can’t imagine the staff here being as described and certainly not the sweet manager. She’s always smiling but watching over the restaurant to pick up any slack. She checked on our table twice during lunch even though our server was doing a perfect job. The food here is really good and there’s absolutely nothing to complain about with the service. Not sure how people are giving this place bad reviews but I guess you can’t please everybody. I’ve tried two of their pasta dishes and the crêpe with berries. The shrimps in the pasta were huge and the sauce wasn’t heavy. Delicious and the portions were big. I’ve always had to take about a third or half home. This place gets very busy during lunch. If you’re in a time crunch and with a big party, don’t expect a quick lunch. Good food isn’t prepared fast and their food is made to order. I WOULDABSOLUTELYRECOMMENDJACK N’ JILL’S TOOTOEVERYONE. Don’t give credence to those negative reviews below. The staff here isn’t rude and argumentative. I’m shocked to read their insulting reviews. Sounds like they think they have priority over the other customers. I’ve always seen the servers here busting their asses to make sure customers have a good meal.

I was here for lunch 2 days ago with some co-workers. I have been here many times for lunch since I work right across the street. The food is good but the service is terrible. TERRIBLE. After Thursday’s lunch I will never go back to this place. Why? –The staff is rude, argumentative and incompetent. They don’t know their own menu and they talk back to the customers. –They were incredibly slow getting our food. It took them almost an hour. We were told that the kitchen was backed up with catering orders — this is not my problem. If you can’t handle the order, DON’T TAKEIT. –Half the orders were wrong and had to be sent back. One salad went back 4 times and it was still wrong. That’s because the servers don’t listen. –Utensils weren’t on the table, waters weren’t refilled, and they dropped a to-go box on the floor and still gave it to my coworker. — My biggest problem is the manager. She apologized and gave us a 20% discount. She then added back that 20% when she closed the check. KEEPYOURRECEIPTS!!! My coworker called and spoke with the manager who said she would reimburse us for the meal. But when he showed up to have his credit card reimbursed, the manager had the nerve to tell him that she meant our NEXT meal would be comped — but guess what? Not one of us is going back to Jack N Jill’s!

This is ANOTHERUPDATE: Being an Elite on Unilocal,I write very candid reviews based on my experience with the business and many other Unilocalers find my reviews credible and helpful. I even said, I originally gave them 5 stars because I felt that manager corrected the issues that I raised when my co-workers and I dined in. BUTNOW, they deserve NOSTARS, ZERO, NADA! The manager charged 20% gratuity on top of our bill without our knowledge. Seriously, who does that?! First off, they should know that their main customer base comes from Cedars-Sinai and they should NOT be messing with Cedar employees’ limited lunch time. Second of all, because they were delayed and basically screwed our meals and service up, none of the servers nor manager even offered any complimentary cornbread for waiting or maybe a free dessert or a simple courtesy to offer to comp our meals for the most disastrous lunch I have ever had. NOTHING! I had to personally get up from my seat, go up to the manager, and tell her that we needed to do something about the horrendous service we received during our lunch time. This is of course while she was taking more«to-go» orders even though her restaurant was full and the kitchen was backed up. The manager, Michou, told me that they were going to refund our meal given the disastrous event that took place during lunch with my co-workers. I was happy to hear this and I asked my co-worker to walk the 5 blocks to this restaurant to get his money back since he paid for our meal. So when he got there, the manager had the NERVE, to tell him that she was only offering to comp our NEXTMEAL!!! REALLY??? First of all, this was NOT what we agreed on and I felt so bad that my co-worker had to walk all the way to this restaurant to get his money back only to be told that he wasn’t going to get it back. This is a complete disrespect to me and when my co-worker came back to tell me he didn’t get his money back, I called the manager right away demanding that the transaction be cancelled over the phone. All of a sudden, she was able to refund the money the moment she heard my voice. Her reason was that she«finally» got approval from headquarters that she can comp our meals. Seriously? Look, I have worked in restaurants before and MANAGERS have the authority to comp any meals that they need to without prior approval. I cannot believe the lies that I was told! Our feedback was that we felt the manager should have stepped in to help on the floor and not take more orders to back the kitchen staff up even more. On top, we were told that the restaurant accepted a large catering order at the same time. Servers need more training and need to be more courteous. Each time we have come to this restaurant, we never get the cornbread in time with our salads. We always LITERALLY have to beg for cornbread. You know, this whole experience is like going through a really bad break-up. At first, I was willing to give this place another chance since the manager initially honored my request to refund our meal. But after trying to give this place a chance over and over and the lies and excuses I was given, it looks like second and third chances are over. Sorry, but they have lost my business. Issues that occurred: — We arrived and sat down at about 11:35 for lunch. We did not get our meal until 12:50PM. — One guest asked for a cobb salad with blue cheese dressing. The order had to be returned 4 times since it came out with balsamic dressing with a side of blue cheese dressing, then it came back out with just salad and balsamic, then it came out with a salad without anything on it. o The server argued that it was my co-worker’s fault for not specifying that she wanted blue cheese dressing so it was rung in as just adding blue cheese on top of the salad. — Balsamic spilled on my co-worker’s chair and stained her white sweater. No one bothered to clean it. — We were only given 2 cornbread for 4 salads that we ordered and it came after we were almost done with our salads. — Utensils were not available when our meals arrived. We waited another 10 minutes for utensils. — Water was never refilled. — A server dropped a to go box on the floor, picked it up, and handed it over to my co-worker. This is unsanitary! — My co-worker’s mac ‘n cheese never came. — My co-worker’s rosemary bread came after she finished her salad. — We were told that a major catering order came in which placed the kitchen staff behind. This is not our fault. — We ended up arriving back to work late, which is an issue since we work at a hospital and have to clock-in.

I love jack n Jills too. I eat here quite often. I’m shocked by some of the negative reviews. I think all of the food is great, all of the portions are generous especially for west Hollywood/Beverly Hills. The staff is nice and very attentive. Breakfast Lunch and Dinner available all day. Happy hour 3:30 — 6:30 M-F I recommend: California breakfast burrito with tater tots! Po boy with jambalaya rice Clare crêpe Rotisserie chicken with roasted veggies! Jambalaya pasta! The bottomless mimosas are the best price on town! $ 9.99 with an entrée and $ 14.99 without. Also every once in a while I indulge in the sugary peach lemonade because it’s yummy. I don’t recommend: coming in between 12pm-2pm. It’s the busiest time and if you’re in a hurry, you’re going to be that asshole who writes a bad Unilocal review because you couldn’t order, eat and dash in 30 minutes… And by the way, if the restaurant is packed chances are it’s going to be LOUD because people like to have conversations with the people they break bread with. In that case I would suggest ear plugs or ordering Togo. Also they have secret menu items all you have to do is ask: –The hangover scramble –Bacon jalapeño grilled cheese –They have waffles, not listed on the menu –chocolate chip bacon croissant French toast Oh and the waitress told us they’ve added calamari, bbq/hot wings to the menu.(Haven’t tried it but it’s definitely on my list)

Needed a decent breakfast after spending days at Cedar-Sinai with my post op sister. Got up early and headed over to jack and Jill had the country spam and eggs and it was just perfect. Brown rice covered in delicious gravy and topped with spam and eggs. Fabulous meal.

This place is a pleasant surprise. Been here a few times and each time have been happy to come eat here. First, the food here is tasty. Very fresh and always well made. I usually get the«hangover«dish, not in the menu but it exists. Eggs, cheese and tasty country potatos. Their coffee is a bit bitter tasting which is not my preferred taste. The service here has also been good. Very attentive staff and friendly. The location of this place is also nice. Very nice area but at times parking can be difficult. Luckily the times I have come to this place I have been able to find parking. I would definitely recommend a visit here if in the area. Prices here are fair and they have many options to pick from. They have breakfast, lunch, and late lunch options.

I’m not even exaggerating when I say the chicken pesto panini was the worst sandwich I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m probably the least picky eater in the world. I will literally eat anything, and I have appallingly low standards. Maybe we caught them on an off day, or maybe it’s better just to stick to the breakfast menu, but It. Was. Awful. I only ordered the panini in the first place because it said it had«pulled chicken» and I thought that sounded great. Turns out by «pulled» they meant«cold, dried out chunks of chicken.» To make matters worse, this was served on 2 completely dry and crumbly pieces of toast. The overall effect was of eating dry chunks of chicken between two pieces of cardboard. The cheese and sparingly applied pesto sauce did nothing to combat the dryness, and I honestly had to choke it down. Perhaps I would have said something to the waitress, but the service was non existent. We sat for 10 minutes before having to seek someone out to take our order, had to ask for the check, and my water sat empty after I finished it, never to be refilled. I liked the choice of sides, although my Mac and cheese(probably the highlight of the meal) was just ok, and my husband’s onion rings seemed to be made of the same dried out cardboard as the panini. I’m at Cedars quite a lot, and you really could not pay me to return to this place. On top of the horrible food and service, it was also LOUD! I read that in another review and just thought it was a grumpy old person, but I’m 30(I don’t think that’s old??) and found it to be really annoyingly loud.

Dear Jack, we tried several of your so called panini. A few requests– don’t cook your chicken in advance, throw it on stale pre toasted bread and then attempt to call it a panini. You advertised PULLED chicken. ILLNEVERLETGOOFTHISJACK. Dear Jill, your service is terrible. I don’t like sitting at a table for 20 minutes unnoticed. Hire more people. Stick with breakfast people. Their Panini are terrible.

So much on the menu looked good!!! I definitely want to go back and try this place for lunch or dinner! I sat outside– the weather was perfect, and it’s right in the middle of the busy-ness of LA, so it was fun to people-watch. As it was, I went at breakfast time, so I stuck with the breakfast menu… I ordered Rob’s Big Combo. It came with their«healthy and happy breakfast crêpe» which was a crêpe with yogurt, honey, and fruit(I ordered it without walnuts, because ew). That was sweet but refreshing. The combo also came with a choice of meat– I got the sausage patties, which were perfectly seasoned– just the right amount of bite and nicely cooked. Finally, it came with eggs. The menu said 2 eggs, but they gave me 3. It was an almost perfect combination of flavors!!! I say almost because, well, I order my eggs over easy; there was nothing on the plate appropriate to soak up the yolks. Maybe ½ of a slice of toast would have been nice– not because I needed more food, it was quite a full plate and served as both my breakfast and lunch, but because I just needed a touch of starch to go with my over-easy eggs. Obviously just a tiny quibble! The staff was attentive– my water got topped off every few minutes. And with the bill they included a tootsie roll pop. A cute little gesture and an enjoyable treat later in the day.

I had passed this place a few times and always saw it packed so I was intrigued on what made people want to come eat here so much. Decided to come with the hubby for breakfast. We are morning people so we were here at 8:30am and we had no issues with having to wait. They have bottomless mimosas specials and great breakfast options. I got the Rob’s Big Combo which I loved because it came with the Happy Breakfast Crêpe which I absolutely loved! So delicious and healthy!!! Got the iced mocha and I also got to try the hangover dish which was pretty good. I was really satisfied with the food and service so I will definitely be coming back!

Atmosphere is great. Both outdoor and indoor seating. Current music playing. Food: ordered a peach lemonade and house chop salad. Delicious as usual. The salad is huge so be sure you’re hungry before you come. Great for breakfast and lunch!

Stopped in this past Saturday. Matt was a very informative waiter. We ordered 2 specials off the board: The jalapeño grilled cheese & the bacon chocolate chip croissant french toast. Both were good, I was just hoping the cheese was melted in the grilled cheese, the bread was toasty, but the cheese did not melt at all. We had 2 salads at the table, they were a nice hefty portion in a big square bowl, the chicken pesto crêpe, the half order of the shrimp creole. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We also got the sides of mac & cheese which was super yummy and the skinny sweet potato fries… SOOO good too. Don’ forget the Peach Lemonade… Wow, reminded me of Kern’s Peach Nectar. The bill came with a mason jar of tootsie pops. Nice Touch, jack & Jill. We had a pleasant experience with Matt, didn’t have to wait, and it didn’t take too long for the food to come out. Will be back when in town to try some of their other items.

EXCELLENTSERVICE.(5⁄5) WENTABOVEANDBEYOND. It all began as soon as I sat down. I noticed I had a little cut on my leg. The server saw me look at my leg, came over and asked if I needed a band-aid. I told him I did, so he brought one for me, and on top of that he brought over a wet towel wipe to wipe off my leg prior to applying the band-aid. That’s some great, thoughtful costumer service. Seating: There is indoor seating and a small patio in the front. Food:(5⁄5) I ordered the protein scramble, which came with one side choice. I chose rosemary sourdough and an extra side of sweet potatoes. (3.5÷5) Tri Tip Steak Dip with sautéed mushrooms and onion, which also came with one side choice. My friend chose the Texas chili, which had steak, cheese, and onion. The tri tip steak was a bit dry, but the Texas chili totally rocked. I ordered an extra corn bread to eat with the chili. Yummy! Parking: Parking can be a hassle, but luckily I found metered parking on Robertson. Bonus: They give tootsie roll lollipops as a parting gift. I will definitely return to try out other things on the menu!

The food was decent here, but nothing really amazing. For 3 eggs, bacon, and strawberry pancakes, it was $ 12. What’s a good deal is the crêpe, which comes with a side. It’s quite large. Generous portion of coffee. When we arrived around 10am, it was empty, but by 11am on a weekday, it was filled. Service was decent. Only issue in this area is the street parking. It can be hard to find a place that’s close.
