Got my haircut today at Hot Hair salon by Tony. He is a pro at cutting hair with just scissors and a comb. Before he cuts your hair he gives it a nice wash and after as well.
Overall I was satisfied. He takes his time and listens to any suggestions. I recommend him to anyone that is not in a hurry for a haircut by a perfectionist.

Ernie is a master barber, an artiste. He is friendly to talk to and it does not take away from his focus and goal which is to make your hair shine in this dark town of L.A. I consider myself lucky to live so close to the Salon. I get compliments at the office which never happened before. I used to go to Floyd’s and the local latino cash guy and they just made the hair shorter Ernie makes the hair look clean and healthy. For a guy that has less hair everyday… I want to make sure the remaining soldiers are well taken care of and Ernie is the right man for the job.

Fay is a super stylist. She knows a lot about color and has been styling my hair for about 5 years now. She really know how to do a good blow out and styling. She is also very personable and has a terrific sense of humor.

Still going back to Ernie from Silverlake, and still getting great haircuts at a great price. Nicely low-​key, listens to what you want, and does a great job. Highly recommended!

Tried this place after reading the reviews and was unimpressed. It took 3 hours for partial lowlights and a haircut and I was not very happy with either.

An outstanding haircut, done in a very friendly, relaxed, peaceful environment by a pro. Thank you Tony for taking your time and doing your best and it was a pleasure getting to know you and meeting your partner Ernie. I will recommend you and your salon and will be back.

I’m really glad I found this place. I concider my slef to be pretty cutting edge and in trend. I tend to look for the more upscale haircuts vs the basic barber cuts. I get my hair cut by Ernie whom has been able to keep my hair trendy and sharp every visit. the haircuts are consistent and always grow out well. Some men’s hairstylists cut your hair and it looks good for 2 weeks or so and then you need to go back or it’s looks all fuzzy and unmanageable but with Ernie’s cuts you can go a long time without another appointment… Although with his very fair prices I am usually go 1 month which is great and works well for me… Ernie know how tonise the razor for textirizing really well on men and woman. so it looks thicker and easy to style

Tony is the best, a real genius! He does amazing work and gives great advice depending on what you are looking for and what will look best for your face. He’s very sweet and a true professional. Look no further, he’s your guy!!!

Ernie has been cutting and coloring my hair for years, and he is (hands down) the best. Over the years, several people have stopped me with oddly specific compliments like, «I can’t find anyone who knows how to do that haircut!» or «How did you get your stylist to do that?» Last fall, one woman pulled out her camera to take pictures for reference.
So yes. As the earlier reviewer commented, Ernie cares for detail. He notices nuances, and he’s an amazing listener. I have been to all types of stylists, from fancy places where they offer you a glass of wine to trendy spots where everyone seems to be cool as all get-​out. None of them hold a candle to the work Ernie does every day. I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my hair.
I think you should go there for your next haircut.

Ernie is amazing. I moved to LA in May and have been looking for a good stylist. Thanks to Unilocal I found him! He is wonderful and does exactly what I want him to. He made my hair look and feel wonderful. My boyfriend was extremely impressed by his work too! I am planning on making another appointment today!~

Wow, how is it that this place has no reviews on Unilocal?Ernie is a throwback to time long gone, when people took pride in their work. When he’s working on your hair, it’s immediately apparent the amount of detail he puts into his work of art (your hair). He doesn’t miss a detail and his sense of what looks good on you is impeccable.
When I need that hair style before that important interview or event where there are no second chances, I will make that hour-​long rush hour drive into West LA to have Ernie take care of my hair. Every time I go, I walk out with what I think is the best haircut/​style of my life. The comments I get afterwards are affirmation of the awesome cut I got.
