I tried this food truck at the LA taco festival today. The line was quite long but not as long as the other taco trucks and vendors. I had their pork carnitas, mole and pollo verde tacos. They had a special deal where 2 tacos were $ 4.50 and 3 tacos were $ 6. The pork carnita taco consisted of pork, apple tomatillo slaw and cilantro. I was most excited about this taco since it sounded so good but was actually quite disappointed when I ate it. The pork was dry and not enjoyable to eat. However, the mole taco was my favorite. The mole taco was topped with sesame seeds and habanero pickled onions. It was so flavorful and juicy and such a great combination! Definitely my favorite one. The pollo verde was such a disappointment. It has jicama cabbage slaw and cotija cheese. Not really sure what those are but the combination didn’t go well for me. It tasted pretty bland and mediocre. The tacos also didn’t come with any lime, radishes or sauce :(I didn’t think the tacos were worth the wait and were alright. I would have the mole taco again though. I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could but… I can’t.

I ate tonight at Fairplex. Tanny taco was fairy priced for serving size and the beef was the star. Perfect proportions of everything helped keep the favors balanced without being messy. We also had the brownie and lemon bar. Both were good but the brownie was better. Customer service was good the lady at the counter was engaging and nice. My wife had a dish that I don’t remember the name of but she was very happy too. The service time was good about 5 minutes for two items and self serve brownie and lemon bar.

Had them come by work for lunch so I was disappointed that only lunch menu was available(but expected I suppose). I got the polo verdiquiles. Overall I was pretty disappointed, I felt it was pretty bland. I will say the presentation is very good and I just wish it had more flavor.

@HomeboyInd Here’s a food truck I would support even if the food was lower quality than it is. Fortunately, the food ROCKS. For those not familiar with Homeboy industries, this is a charity organization that works with both at risk and incarcerated youth to give their lives direction. For me that alone makes them worth supporting. They are also non profit. But the food is the thing on the truck and the food is awesome. I tried the mole tacos. I couldn’t get them in me fast enough. The flavors were just spot on. Can’t wait to try some of their other treats. I became familiar with this group because they operate a café and a commercial bakery as well as the truck. The bakery sells their breads and rolls at the local farmers market in my neighborhood. Their breads are to die for and they use them on the truck. Right on guys, you ARE making a difference. So I’ll just compliment you the best way I can ______________STALKER APPROVED____________________

Just ate at the homeboy industries food truck and my mouth is still watering after those amazing tacos. If you haven’t had a taste of the homeboy industries food truck, please take some time and eat their food. It all goes to a good cause for people that want to do a 180 in their lives.

I went here twice this week because they came to our work. I got 2 tacos each time(tinga and mole, and tinga and chicken the other day). The tinga was awesome! I loved the flavor and the meat was soft and flavorful. The tacos came out pretty quick and they were cheap!($ 2.50 each and full of meat). Warning though… the second day the tacos were a bit spicier… so although they were excellent, my nose was watering. I’ll definitely be back!

Mole Chilaquiles The flavor was good, I could have eaten more. The box contained a handful of tortilla chips with sauce, 2 tablespoons pork & some marinated onions. The onions were fabulous, best part of the dish. Everything else was good. Here is my rub though. I have eaten gallons of Oaxacan Mole and this was not what I would consider Mole. Flavorful, yes — Mole, no. I also got a chili verde taco & Coke. Total $ 15. The taco was also good. Overall, I don’t think I got a good value for my money.

I’ve tried this truck twice and loved it both times. I have tried all the tacos and love them all. I think the mole taco is my favorite. Tonight we also tried the Chips and salsa and the black beans, the beans were simple but perfectly cooked. The salsa was thin, but serve warm and was tasty. The tacos are also a great size and quality for the price. Will definitely eat at this truck in the future

Had one each of tinga, mole and pollo verde tacos. They were equally sufficient(i.e. «okay») in both flavor and portion size. Pollo verde and tinga were a bit bland, mole was a bit thin and sweet. Potatoes were basic home fry style. The corn was meh. I thought 4 bucks for that was a bit steep — more so when I realized it was canned. Overall, I’d like more«pop» in the flavor department.
