I got engaged a couple of months ago, and my fiancé bought the ring from Sarkis. He took into account my fiancé’s financial restrictions and my taste, and created the ring out of what used to be the pendant of a necklace. He even crafted a wedding band to go with it(made of cubic zirconia to save money, but that looks exactly like the real thing). I’m super happy with my ring and with the service I received!

I’m fascinated with antique jewelry and had a great experience working with Sarkis when I got my engagement ring. Like him, his jewelry is not trendy; it’s elegant and unique. Entering his store is like entering the old world of jewelry, he provides unique hospitality that is unlike what is out there anymore. He welcomes good conversation and a nice espresso while discussing jewelry or feedback about the jewels. I felt him to be an honest man and without hesitation, extremely helpful when I needed an adjustment and when I was looking for a connecting wedding band. In my experience, he wasn’t looking for a quick sale. Without his shop, I would have never found such a beautiful and unique ring. Thank you, Sarkis!

A bunch of liars and I learned the hard way. My Fiancé and I were looking for 1940’s vintage rings for a few days and we came into Hermitage Jewelry. Sarcas is the owner, We asked if he had any real 1940’s rings not brand new vintage style rings and he said yes and pointed them out. We fell in love with one of them and I asked again and said are you sure this is really from the 1940’s and he said«yes». I asked how do you know and he said«because I’ve been in this business for almost 30 yrs and I can tell». I purchased the ring and he gave me the Appraisal sheet with all the info but it never said from the 1940’s. I asked him about that and he said«you dont need it to say the year on there but I can print you out a new one that says it, so he did. I paid cash which probably wasn’t a good idea. After I took the ring to 3 different jewelry places in the beverly hills area, all 3 said it was a brand new ring that looked vintage. One of the stores in Beverly hills explained to me how they knew it was a brand new one and not from the 40’s, by the certain cuts of the diamonds that weren’t performed in the 40’s and the way they stamped the make of the jewelry back then. I called Sarcas at hermitage back and said you lied to me about the ring and of course he said he didn’t and I said I have proof, then he changed his story of course. I was pissed and said I want my money back or else im going to hang out in front of your shop and tell people your a liar, and of course he gave me my money back accept $ 100. He said the $ 100 was cause he took the time to make the appraisal which took him only 10 min. At first he wanted to keep $ 200 and I said you F**KINKIDDINGME, he said fine $ 100. I didn’t want to keep arguing with him, I just wanted to get out of there, so I said keep the $ 100. What a piece SH*T that guy was.

Sarkis is the best. Knowledgeable and accommodating. He can order anything you want from Mont Blanc at a great discount. Highly recommend the trip to Hill Street to get your bling from him.

I bought by fiances engagement ring from Hermitage and the owner made it a relaxing and stress free experience. Great customer service. Oh and the ring looks amazing and I got a great deal as well. I will most definitely come back here.

They have very unique pieces, both antiques and otherwise, and willing to bargain as is typical of the Downtown Jewelry District. I have bought 3 items here within 2 months and love them all: opal flower necklace, diamond dragonfly earrings, and a combination Southwestern jewelry pendant piece. My only detractor is that it’s not easy to get to this area, and parking can get pricey.

That’s funny Bradly B. because i have been going to SARKIS(that’s how its spelled by the way) for years. He is the most loyal and honest jeweler in all of the Los Angeles area. He has a fantastic variety of merchandise, the most original I have ever seen, and truly does his best to give great prices on excellent quality jewelry. People, do not listen to Bradly, Hermitage is great. they have the most amazing pieces i have ever seen, and Sarkis is a genuine man, and KNOWS what he is talking about. If you ask anyone is the Downtown area, they will tell you, he is one trust worthy man. Sorry you had a bad experience there and got your panties in a bunch. At least you got your money back, I honestly do not know what your complaining about. Most places won’t even do that.
