This place is terrible. A small hot dog is $ 8, the staff is very rude and inattentive. To make matters worse, they charged me for the«combo» but tried to cheat me out of the chips. The hot dog was below average, the bun was cold and the chips were stale. A waste of $ 8.

I didn’t want to give this place not even one star!!! Horrible service — save your money and buy a pack of hebrew national hot dogs and treat yourself at home. I went to the Grove for some shopping at Nike’s and Nordstroms. I spent approx $ 1k between the two stores. On my way to pick-up my dog from the Vet’s and, saw this hot dog stand and thought«let me grab something to eat quickly.» After ordering a chili dog and bottle of water, my bill came to $ 12+. At first I start to cancel but went ahead and gave the cashier/cook my credit card. Here’s where it got cray-cray…she asked for my drivers license for a $ 12 hot dog. Now mind you neither Nike’s nor Nordstrom had asked me for drivers license for their merchandise which was over thousands of dollars… I was taken aback!!! So I took my card from her and she became belligerent and I then gave her a few choice words. Today, after speaking with the manager, I learned that she is just as nuts and a big liar when she stated that the bank requires that they ask for id. The bank cannot establish your business policies. I noticed that this stand does not ask everyone for id — you either ask everyone or you do not ask anyone. Horrible business practice and I am sure the hot dog would have been worse. Go home and make you a good hot dog!!!

Total joke. I’ve had better hot dogs at a movie theater. at $ 7.25 a piece I could go to Dawg Haus and get a gourmet dog. Soda $ 2.99 for a 16 oz cup and get this the owner doesn’t do refills or condiments. That’s extra … Haha wow… Will never go here again avoid at all costs

You’re kidding? The hot dogs aren’t even average size and are OVERLYPRICED, $ 7.25 for one hot dog. You can get a better tasting and bigger hot dog on the street for $ 2.50

Pricey, but the BEST tasting hot dog I’ve ever had! Came here over the weekend and it was pretty busy, they had a band playing right next to the stand and its pretty incredible how the employees handle it, especially being that there was only two of them. Delicious hot dogs, didnt have any fries though:(

The hot dogs are Hebrew National, so that’s good/decent… however the buns are just cold, you have to actually ask for condiments and napkins, and everything’s pretty expensive for what you get. Service was slow and employees didn’t have much enthusiasm either.

What a disgrace to the Grove! The last hot dog stand was awesome. This one? Pathetic! I paid $ 7 for a cold, small hot dog with a cold bun. I asked for mustard on the hot dog and the employee handed me two packets! What happened to them preparing, like the last vendor. I would expect more from The Grove — it’s unbelievable that they allow such a vendor.

The owner needs to step up. Mini hotdogs and French fries took 25 minutes. One employee/cashier was rude and not welcoming. Just a little courtesy goes a long way.

For something that’s in the middle of the grove and been here for so long you think it would actually be grilled and taste good. Nope you get hot dogs from a spindle, out of relish when I went and they give you mustard in a packet.

I’ve always wanted to try this place but never got around to it. Today I had some time and figured I would swing by. I walk up to the place and attempt to look at the menu. I say«attempt» because the sliding metal door is broken and won’t roll up completely to show the entire menu. I waited there for what felt like well over a minute(but I will be honest and say that when you are waiting for someone to greet you it feels like longer) and finally Wendy comes over to me and asks to help. I asked if there was another menu and she told me that was the only one. So I just ordered fries since that’s all I could see. I walked around a bit and came back in a few minutes to pick up my order on the other side of the booth at the pick up window. And what do I see…? You guessed it. Another menu. So I ask Wendy why didn’t she tell me about this menu when I asked, and she responded«I thought you knew. Sorry.» Then when I asked her, «If I knew, why would I have asked?» she just walked away and ignored me. And to top it all off, the fries were a VERY small portion and weren’t even good. First and LAST time at this establishment.

The Grove should be ashamed that their name is attached to this ripoff shack. $ 10 for a high school stadium hotdog on a gummy white bun, a small bag of chips and a watery fountain drink is beyond ridiculous. Do NOT patronize this place. You’ve been warned.

I should have checked out the reviews first! We were starving, and there was a 1 hour wait at 3 restaurants that we stopped by at the grove, so we decided to just grab a dog at the little kiosk. The workers were unfriendly and annoyed. The hot dogs were almost $ 7, so I was expecting something substantial. These dogs were about ¼ of the size of a Costco hot dog, for 4 times the price!!! When our order was ready, I took our 4 dogs to a table, and came back for the chips that were supposed to come with it. The lady looked at me like I was the one robbing her. I asked for some napkins, and she gave me 2! TWONAPKINSFORFOURHOTDOGSAND4BAGSOFCHIPS. I ask for some more, and she turned away to go work on another hot dog. The condiments weren’t even fresh. The mustard and relish came in little tiny packets. Truly the worst experience, it ruined our whole trip out to the Grove

I have never posted on Unilocal before. However, this hot dog stand was so bad that it required me to write. It was a failure on levels. The food was terrible. The prices were astoundingly high(even in LA). The staff was disinterested and unfriendly. And to top it off we waited 20 minutes. Caruso should kick them out of The Grove. Do not buy anything at this place.

Wow. Rude much? Employees do NOT want to be here. Im waiting for my order at this moment, 1:30PM on a saturday, and they have no customers. It takes them 15 minutes to get a handful of frozen fries ready. Never ever go here!

I was so hungry I wanted a quick bite, but after having this dog I think i would’ve rather starved. I understand they need to pay rent and all, but for such an expensive hot dog can’t it at least taste good? I think they were trying to put a gourmet twist on their dogs but it was so not good. And for the price… Yeah. Sorry guys =(

Hot dogs are $ 7. If that doesn’t put you off feel free to read on: Me: I’ll have the mini hot dogs. Hot Dog Dude: Uh, we ran out of those over the weekend. Me: Ok, then I’ll get two regular hot dogs. HDD:(looks meaningfully at spinning hot dogs) OK… you don’t want the large? Me: Nope. HDD: Then it will take 12 minutes or so. Me: Ok. HDD: They come with chips but we only have BBQ Lays. Me: … Ok. It says you have lemonade. Is that actually true? After 12 minutes of watching HDD insert meat thermometers into various spinning sausages I got my BBQ chips and regular hot dogs on stale buns. On the plus side, he made a real pretty design with the ketchup.

Never again. Apparently, two hot dogs served with stale buns and packet condiments takes 20 minutes to prepare. And although garlic fries is on the menu, they apparently did not have them in season on this day. Instead, I was fortunate enough to have the perfect alternative: frozen tater tots, microwaved to perfection. Because that’s the way I like my taters: chewy and lukewarm. That’s how I roll. Oh, and let’s take a guess who was stupid enough to pay 20 bucks for two weiners, two bags of chips, 15 tater tots and a 12 ounce soda… I raise my hand in sadness and despair. Whose idea was to set up this hut of horrors in the middle of The Grove? I bet it was jack muffin suit whose grand idea was to reroute people who’d rather not wait an hour for a seat at the Cheesecake Factory and funnel them down to this overpriced travesty. On the surface, great idea. You get your food fast and it’s a hot dog. But you failed miserably, staff of The Grove Dog. And your food is abysmal. Never again. Never ever again.
