Perfect place for catering large numbers of people. Excellent and efficient service — alongside delicious food. As good as it gets.

Decided to order Korean food from this place because of the price. However, it wasn’t at all what I expected. The food was bland and not as tasty as I would have expected. The service was very uninviting and somewhat hurried. I understand that it was a busy day, but it would’ve been nice if I was given more attention. Overall, the atmosphere was rushed and somewhat inconsiderate/borderline rude. Several of my family members were turned off by the food, others somewhat enjoyed it. Some of the food came cold, which we had to reheat. Other than that, I’d say you get what you pay for. Next time, I’ll go somewhere else next time where I could get better food.

I have to say… this place I come back to, for catering. Authentic korean food you won’t be able to taste anywhere else. Gok Jee owner, takes pride in her cooking for her customers and provides sincere heart-warming service to her guests. All my guests at my wedding complimented the food, how delicious it was. Thank you so much, Gok Jee SJN! All the best to your continous success! We will meet again, soon. ^^

Read all the great Unilocal reviews and decided to give it a try. a bit disappointing The portions are very small with proportion to the amount of people ordered for. however the price per person is cheap. luckily had less people than expected last minute. The kimchi was very old and sour, not fresh. avoid The rest of the food tasted ok. nothing special Ordered mixed rice… it was white rice with 2 beans in it. but thats ok because there wasnt an extra charge vs plain white rice The owner is really nice so 3 stars. but the rest was just average. not bad but not great Honestly probably wont order from here again unless i do a few items per tray but I would suggest to over order a bit if you decide to use this place

I catered here for the first time last week and there dishes are pretty good. Stuff I ordered: 1. Bulgogi 2. Chicken wings 3. Jahp Cheh 4. Rice Honestly it wasn’t bad for the price. I paid like 72 dollars for all that. I thought it wasn’t bad at all. The Ajumma that owns it seems gangster as hell. Haha. Hella cool. I will cater from this place again!!!

The only place I order from for Korean catering. Always delicious, always on time, presentation is nice, and a nice array of tray size choices so I really can order for any size group. This is not a restaurant– it’s a catering service only.

Our church group caters from this place often… And there’s a reason for it. Bulgogi — THis is bomb here. It’s so juicy and tender. I wish they add more bulgogi juice cause I like to pour the juice on top of my bap. Chicken wings — Very sweet. It’s much too sweet for me, but chances are y’ll like it. The pieces are big too. These are typically the first to run out. Jap Chae — It’s nice and glossy. I like the kind that has little veggies and whole lotta noodles. Their jap chae isn’t that kind. Potato Salad — Disgusting. Just Gamja Mayo. Beef/Fish Pancakes covered with Egg — They will steal your heart with the first bite. OMO-Nah they are so gooooooooood. I can nibble on those all day, whether with ketchup, tarter sauce, or no sauce xD Galbi Jeem — This is my favorite korean dish so my assesment is unfair. Their galbi jeem kinda whack. Can’t explain it. Kim Chi — I don’t know. My mom makes the bomb kim chi for some reason. My mom can not cook, hell, i think she will come in near last place in the UK in a cooking contest, but her kim chi is the shiznits so we never got kim chi from these folks. Spinach — was tasty. nice kick. They have so many other things i dont know… Just remember you can’t go wrong with bulgogi =)

Gok Jee is a great place to get food for parties. They cater and charge a delivery fee, based on the distance from their place, but you can also pick up the food too. We ordered galbi jjim, sengsun jun, japchae, kongnamul, and kimchi and everything was delicious! Especially the galbi jjim! I am definitely planning on using Gok Jee again to cater for big parties!

In preparation for our daughter’s 1st birthday, we were looking for korean catering companies. After narrowing down our selection, we decided to go with Gok Jee based on their fantastic reviews. We met with Ms. Oh and she is absolutely fabulous. Extremely nice and accommodating and even let us do a tasting(which they typically do not). Food at the tasting was great and we selected a menu for the party. In fact, the day of the delivery, they arrived earlier than the time we asked. Which we appreciated a great deal. People were asking where the food was from and had great things to say. The other thing that we were concerned of was the amount of food that we would get. In the end we were given a lot of food and people were glad to take some home with them. I would highly recommend Gok Jee and will use them again in the future. Ms. Oh is genuine, very nice and easy to work with. They are very professional and the best part the food was great. Thank you Gok Jee!!!

I recently bought some party trays here for my birthday party. I got the LA galbi(marinated), fried chicken, fish pancake(sangsun jun), glass noodles(japchae), rice, spinach, and beansprouts. Everything tasted awesome, although the chicken was a tad dry. Ordering was easy. They have a website that shows the menu in both Korean and English. There were some Korean terms that I had to Google, but most items were in English. The person I spoke with on the phone spoke English well, which was a big plus since I am not Korean. Prices were reasonable. They were also able to give me estimates based on the number of guests I was having. On the day I picked up my food, one of the employees helped me load the food in my car. I even got an extra small container of beansprouts because they had too much. Payment was cash/check only. I highly recommend this place for Korean party trays!

I catered from Gok Jee four years ago and should have written a review then, but I recently catered from Gok Jee again. Both times, Mrs. Oh was very easy to work with and very friendly. She speaks Korean and English, and responds to phone calls and emails quickly. The food is good and looks great. The second time I catered from Gok Jee, I had the food delivered to the San Gabriel Valley for a very reasonable price.

I used Gok Jee to cater my new year’s «sae bae» party for 17 people. The food was delicious, fresh and very authentic. I ordered Galbijim, korean spicy chicken wings, bulgogi, fish jun, zucchini jun, jap chae, fried squid, fried sweet potato, fried rice and cucumber kimchee. The faves were the Galbijim, chicken wings, fish jun and jap chae. The bulgogi is more like beef sukiyaki and wasn’t a crowd favorite(I personally did not like it that much). The only thing I would add is if you’re getting any of the jun’s or fried items — to ask for a soy dipping sauce(it wasn’t provided). Fully recommend this place and will use them again in the future!

I needed to cater food for about 15 people for a party coming up in a few days. I was about to order food from a catering place in Torrance but decided to find something in Korea town instead, due to better pricing. Gok Jee stood out because of all the great reviews, only 4 and 5 stars. I was a bit skeptical, even so, but decided to give them a try. This place is fantastic!!! I spoke to Mrs. Oh, who I’m guessing is the owner. She is awesome, communicates well and efficiently and also is super friendly. The food was amazing and everything tasted delicious. Clean, not too salty, full of flavor. We ordered galbi jjim, jeon, chicken wings, namul, fried shrimp, japchae, California rolls and some other dishes. Everything was delicious, everything! Everyone at my party loved the food. Gok Jee Food really deserves 5 stars. I’ll definitely call them again for my next catering event.

We were looking for a catering company for my moms birthday and decided to go with this place due to great reviews. Everyone over here is really nice. We ordered a couple of different items off the menu that came out to a little more than we expected. This place isn’t the cheapest. The food seemed fresh and tasted good. They had our order ready the next day, and waited after closing hours for us. The only downside was that the galbi jjim we ordered seemed over priced compared to what we got. It would have been better if they packaged it in a smaller tub instead of throwing unnecessary bones in there to make it look full. Since customer service was good, they saved a star from 3 to 4. Would I order from them again? It’s hard to say.

I just had Gok Jee cater my son & daughter’s birthdays over the Memorial Day wknd. Mrs. Oh is amazing! A lot of the parents kept saying how great the food was and went for 2nds and 3rds. We ordered food for 50 ppl and we had about 60 – 65 guests. I ordered bulgogi, jap chae, bindaeduk, dumplings, and baby kimbap. What I really appreciate is that Mrs. Oh is great with email, which is so helpful. I highly recommend Gok Jee for your next party.

I went with Gok Jee purely on reviews since I never had any of their food at any event before. I took a chance and it paid off! I had them cater my 40th bday for about 50 people this past Saturday, but it practically could have fed 100+. I considered people eating more than once so I increased the portions for each dish. Since the party was at a house, chances of eating throughout the night was high. I really liked how I was able to choose the items I wanted and wasn’t restricted to a set buffet menu. I chose 16 items on my menu because I certainly wanted variety so I can cater to people with different tastes. I noticed they even threw in some regular kimchi in addition to my cucumber one. In a way I got a discount because she even threw in some extra for some of the items and even had free delivery. My scrumptious menu consisted of: Galbijim, Fried Shrimp, Zucchini Jun, Spicy Chicken Wings, Chicken/Veg Kebob(cute appetizer size), Fried Pork Cutlet, Japchae, Baby Kimbap, Sangsung Jun, Dongurang Tang, Fried Veg Dumpling, Fried Mushroom, Beansprout, Spinach, Kimchi, Cucumber Kimchi, White Rice The delivery guy was kind enough to set the burners for us. I wasn’t there yet so he even placed my menu cards under each dish because my friends did not know what dish was what. The food was a success and there was plenty of it! Mrs. Oh is so easy to work with when I was trying to figure out the menu. Everyone loved their food and asked who catered it. They were surprised they delivered to the valley(Granada Hills) especially when they’re located in K-town. That’s where the best Korean food is, right? Everything was so good. and yes, like everyone else said. the galbijim was delish in addition to everyone else! I would definitely have them cater to my next event. big or small! Thank you Gok Jee for feeding all my friends!

I had a massive church dinner of 350+ to prepare for, and Gok Jee did an amazing job! She was willing to give me a great price for a menu with pretty expensive items. We had galbi jjim, japchae, spicy chicken wings, california rolls, fish jeon, banchan(spinach and bean sprouts), and kimchi as well as cucumber kimchi. Everything was delicious! Everyone was so impressed with the quality of the food and asked me where we catered from. Mrs. Oh even threw in the rice and Korea rice cakes for dessert for free! 350 people and we still had food left over! I will definitely keep Gok Jee in mind for my next big(or small) catering event!

I used Gok Jee catering for a birthday party over Labor Day weekend. The food was clean and tasty. Pretty much everything was eaten clean! They were professional, timely, and the presentation was great. The extra charge was worth the presentation and delivery. The crowd faves were the japchae, fried chix wings, galbi jim, and fish jun. Tip: we got some of the skewers, which were pricey compared to other options. Next time, I would get a variety of jun instead of the skewers.

Good amount of food for ~$ 240. They threw in rice and kimchi(cabbage and radish versions). The bulgogi was freshly made and still very hot. The japchae was also fresh. They took great care in packaging the items. E.g. they were careful in not putting the japchae next to the bulgogi since the vegetables in the japchae would wilt because of the heat. Downside is that it’s cash or check only.
