I love flame broiler, being someone who is wheat intolerant this restaurant has become an awesome spot for me. When I order from this spot the meat is always fatty which Im not used to. This past Tuesday I noticed my bowl with NO drink cost $ 8.18 which is pretty high saying that they used to cost $ 6 so I asked the girl who was not wearing a name tag about the inflation. The cashier gave me such attitude, if shes not sure of the answer she should ask management but instead she gave me a dirty look and tossed my food to me. Keep the fatty meat and prices I’ll eat at another flame broiler.

Great food, however parking is such a hassle because of the small parking lot in this very, very busy shopping center. Be prepared to wait(10 – 20 minutes) during peak times(lunch, dinner) and always check your order before you leave.

Works plate or bowl! I pretty much get either or, depending on how I’m feeling. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a good chicken bowl.

I was ripped off by the manager(an older Asian lady). The first time I came I ordered a chicken veggie bowl with white meat(I always order white meat at Flame Broiler). She charged me and then reached for a cup from the side of the register. I asked, «Oh it comes with a drink?» She hesitated, then took her hand away and replied, «Oh, actually the chicken veggie with white meat doesn’t come with a drink.» Okay…so since I paid a dollar sixty five more for white meat, I’m excluded from the free drink deal? Whatever. The next time I came back I was waiting in line and observed the people before me. I realized that all bowls come with a free drink. And then I hear and see her give a drink to a person who orders a bowl with WHITEMEAT. When I got to the register I’m pretty sure she recognized me as the naïve Asian girl she had ripped off, not just because of the vibes I got but because the location is straight out ghetto and does not frequent many Asian chicks. When she handed me my receipt(and DRINK) I was really tempted to say something but I dropped it. I didn’t go back again for a long time, but a couple days ago I really craved Asian food. So I walked there again and found out the drink special is no longer going on. After I ordered, I sat down and waited for my food. Right after me, she helped this guy who ordered the exact same thing I did. She then told the cooks to make sure they add«extra, extra white meat.» She then repeated it for emphasis: «Make sure you give him extra, EXTRA white meat.» Okay whatever, he’s probably a regular, she can do whatever she wants. I wasn’t annoyed. But I got pretty annoyed when I got my bowl and opened it. There was so little chicken – less than I’ve gotten at that location before and much less than other locations I’ve tried. Also, I’m super picky about the food I eat(which is why I pay extra for white meat) and I know what it’s supposed to taste like. That time it tasted almost exactly like the regular Flame Broiler meat, in addition to being grisly and stale. I paid almost nine dollars for a small bowl of rice and crappy chicken and no drink. Even though this location is super convenient for me I will not be returning.

It’s your average Flame Broiler… When I walked in, there was some weird smell that greeted me and it followed me to my home… I don’t know if it was the plastic bag, or the bowl… food was what you would typically expect from Flame Broiler. The free drink advertisement hung up outside is ONLY if you get a chicken bowl or plate(I got half & half and was told no). Given that the place mainly serves USC students, I think they can do a better job… There’s other good places around and have competitive prices(Dirt Dog for example) around the area…

A reasonably close walk from Mount St. Mary’s. I was there for a class, and didn’t feel like going to their cafeteria. Good food, though the chicken in my bowl was a bit drier then I typically remember Flame Broiler being, though individual bottles of «Magic Sauce» works to cover it up… Free drink too! Can’t beat it for a quick meal.

Poop dried nasty chicken and beef. They need to cook it fresh or not cook so much at one time.

I spent $ 13 and change for 2 bowls today, I was so diapponted. The chicken tasted as if it had been sitting, it was dry hard and chewy like beef jerky. I had been craving flame broiler since I had it for the first time near LAX at the Sepulveda location. This location was dirty on the outside and the parking sucked. The service was friendly but I was disappointed in the food. I went through the internet to map quest the closest location to me, I spent $ 14 on Über and I feel robbed. Payday isn’t until next Friday, thiis was supposed to be a splurge for me.

The service was terrible. They would rather sit in the back and chat then help the customers.

I work at the flame broiler in downtown on 7th and flower and this flame broiler is disgusting I ordered a chx/beef plate with extra chicken and well done beef the chicken was dry and had no flavor and the beef was not well cooked and had no flavor and I ordered white rice and it was under cooked and hard so if you want some real flame broiler go make the extra 5 minute drive to the one on 7th and Flower

CHICKENBOWL $ 4.99! ENOUGHSAID! I am a really indecisive person so it usually takes me hours to decide where to eat. I came to Flame Broiler today after first going to California Teriyaki next door to find it with a C rating. I was like okay there is no way I am eating here so we went next door to Flame Broiler to satisfy our chicken teriyaki cravings! I got the Chicken Bowl for 4.99 and I mean for $ 5 bucks it is what it is. The reason why I am giving it three stars is because the chicken was dry, a good amount of it was burnt, and the rice to chicken ratio was WAY off. The bowl was literally 95% rice and 5% chicken. It was really hard for me to not drench everything in teriyaki and spicy sauce because otherwise there is NO flavor and just super bland. Overall, I probably won’t be coming here anymore. I can make chicken breast with teriyaki sauce at home for less $$ and it would probably taste better too.

Yummy chicken and beef bowls(not fatty at all)! You can choose between white meat or dark meat, white rice or brown rice which I think are great options. They have their«magic sauce»(teriyaki) on the side so you can get as much as you like. their spicy sauce is yummy as well. Lots of flavor in their food. Parking is awful but they do have parking in the back which is a little difficult to get to but it’s there.

Service sucks. The girl behind the register is a miserable person with no understanding of what basic costumer service entails. And the food gave me heart burn.

Flame Broiler is so great. The half chicken, half steak bowl is where it’s at. I order it all the time. I probably hit this place up three times a week. It’s that addicting! The employees are nice and know me by name. If you’re feeling especially hungry, go for the baby back ribs! Those are what’s up.

Meh. I’ve experienced better but I keep returning because it’s cheap. What I like about this place is how simple and easy it is, nothing overwhelming. I usually get the chicken bowl with brown rice and some magic sauce on the side to kick it up a notch. A lot of food and few calories packed in a bowl. Semi-friendly staff, speedy service and the place appears clean.

This Flame Broiler is located in the North West corner of Figueroa and Washington. Parking is limited in front of the stores, but today I found out that there’s more parking in the back. I’ve come to like Flame Broiler. I don’t care for the beef, but the chicken is tender and flavor’s good so long as you get it without the sauce. The hot sauce is a cross between Louisiana Hot Sauce and Tabasco. It’s pretty tasty.

Yes, I know… I’m reviewing a fast food place… It’s usually not in my blood to do so, but I found this place to be really good especially being a college student. It’s especially difficult to eat healthy and keep a budget as a college student as everything down Figueroa is far from healthy. What I really like about this place, is the health factor in that they really stress it and make it known that’s what their food is all about. The place and food reminds me of Yoshinoya, but I’d go here over there. I ordered ‘the works’ bowl which came with all the meats and BROWNRICE. I’ve been on a health craze and really been eating well, so having this option without it costing extra is amazing. The food is good and they have this special sauce or what my friend says«magic sauce» that reminds me of a soy ginger glaze sauce but not as refined. It’s cheap, healthy, and filling, what more can I want?
