It wasn’t a pleasant experience for us when we eat there. One of waitresses was not friendly. We asked to replenish a couple little side dishes, she gave us a look and told us this is the last time. I have been to many Korean restaurants, and never been told like that. It was our first time there. We ordered a sautéed kidney, they didn’t tell us it will be SUPERSPICY, I couldn’t even swallow it, that’s why we asked for the side dishes to balance the spiciness. They didn’t even bother to check us and make sure everything okay. We didn’t have BBQ this time. However, I will not go back there again for this kind of service.

Came on Father’s Day, wasn’t pack or anything maybe coz we went early. The lamb kabab were really good, chicken hearts were decent. Now the best of all we had was #2 the lamb spareribs! The servers are very attentive, they did all the cooking for us pretty much. Will be back.

Authentic. If you like to have your choice of an animal’s many parts — from head to balls to feet — this place has it all. You cook your various meats at the table and have a variety of other dishes to choose from. The soup was good and spicy. I found the meat to be too fatty, but that may be how it is supposed to be, I don’t know. The servers seemed rushed and it was hard to get their attention at times. It’s quite small inside with 8 – 9 tables.

You will feel the smoke at this place. It is a small establishment. I didn’t care for the Chicken Gizzards or the Bull Penis, but everything else tasted great. They have a great selection of Pork Belly and Beef Skewers. You can also get veggie side dishes if you like. Yes, I would dine here again.

The lamb kebabs are great, I also remember the calamari dish as being excellent.

Best to come around 6pm, free parking available at the Hanbi bank. Go any later than that, guaranteed will be super crowded, tables are very limited. We always order beef, shrimp, pork belly, and mushrooms kabobs. Ppl love the lamb kabobs here, but it’s a little too fatty for my taste, so I prefer beef. The true selling point of this place is their special spice powder mix. It goes super well with anything you dip it with and it’s just super addictive: p When I was still in LA, we would go here at least once a month. That’s a lot, I know hehe. I prefer this location to the second one because it’s quiet and small. Service is usually good, because there are only so many tables. The second location is next to a hookah place, thus it’s crowded and smelly. It’s a larger location, but service is horrible. If you’re up for a different experience for bbq, this is the place to go.

Lamb Kebab(10 pcs for 14.99 $), Steamed Buns(2.00 $) and Matsutake Mushroom(1.99 $) is what we order. Lamb got a juicy taste with their house spice powder to dip with is amazing, along with my favorite side dish of Kimchi for the after-taste! Dipping the bun with the condense-milk is a good choice of pre-selection they put out! Mushroom is yummy chewy even though I try to avoid not eating mushrooms! Learned that salt helps keep the fire popping little sparks out; pretty cool even though I have to point my table out for their English isn’t so good, but their kind and quick services made that up. And sadly they don’t take Discover, so paid in cash. Surroundings look old but at the corner of the main road to be visible, so that’s good! Overall, I like it! Recommended and will be back when craving for Lamb Kebab!

Can’t wait to come back again! Favorites: Beef skewers Beef tendon Gizzards Lamb skewers were good but I felt it lacked flavor. Could just be the order that day. Adventurous: Bull Penis — warning! not for the faint of heart. When I told my friends I tried this… a quarter of them would freak out because hey its Bull Penis. What? But hey, if you’re feeling adventurous… Why not? :) Although it sounds weird, it wasn’t as strange as I thought it was. The pictures look crunchy but the texture is really chewy and a bit sticky. And of course pretty good with spices and chili. I may actually just order it again. Service was pretty good. They’re attentive to you and fast. Parking: Streets 6−11pm free parking right across from Hanmi Bank

Tried the Bull Penis just to say I ate Bull Penis. Was really chewy. Definitely an acquired taste. I also got the Lamb Kebab and the Marinated Beef. Both were very good. I would definitely recommend this place and come back for some kebab.

I am in love with lamb skewers so when I saw the goof reviews I had to give it a try. I previously been to another skewer place for their ayce lunch but this place is a whole new level the flavor and quality of the meat is so much better It’s a bit pricey if your eating to get full. My boyfriend and I only ordered skewers and none of their side dishes our total was about $ 60 dollars? The grill is they use charcoal for a smoky flavor where you have to rotate your own skewers instead of the self rotating. Make sure to pay attention to your meat it cooks really fast and can burn easily. My favorites was the lamb, beef, lamb heart, pork belly wrapped enoki. The meat was so tender and just melt in your mouth. You get a better deal for the lamb and beef. I tried the bull penis not really a fan it was just super chewy nothing special. The buns were interesting you grill it on top and they eat it with condense milk. The gizzard wasn’t too bad but I wasn’t crazy about it. We got seated quickly on a Friday things were quick. I will definitely come back.

I gave it a four because I believe this place is great but still need improvement. The whole night was just too much meat. I wish they have Chinese fish cake to Bbq. Too much meat, need some vegetables. I wish they have some noodle or rice cakes dishes too so I can have some carbs.

Love their kebab, especially the lamb and fish. Korean-style appetizer is a plus. Good location and ample parking. Just a little bit expensive…

Ahhh. This review is way long overdue. I been coming here forever & now I’m kinda craving for some lamb kebab. I never cared for lamb before till I had some here. OMG, they’re so good. Almost everything I had was so freakin good! This place is a Chinese/Korean restaurant. But most of the workers here speaks Mandarin. I would not recommend anyone coming here dress up because you will walk out smelling like outdoor bbq pit. So dress casual unless you do want to smell like a bbq pit. This restaurant is a fun place to come w/a group of people, order some drinks, some skewer and just taking your time to just eat and enjoy your company. Basil Claims 4⁄5 $ 11.95 The claims are stir fry with basil & chili peppers. The claims are a good size too, it’s tasty & sweet since claims are naturally sweet! Warm Noodles M43⁄5 $ 5.99 I didn’t care for the warm noodles it didn’t have much flavor. I think it’s suppose to be like rice just something for you to just eat your dish with. We always order this because even tho I’m not a fan other people in my parties are. Pork Pan Buns M14⁄5 $ 8.99 I enjoy the pork buns, the bread is steamed til it’s light and fluffy. The pork inside was well seasoned, moist and very tasty. I would order this dish again. Meats: We order almost every skewer on the menu and it was good. I think it was the seasoning powder that they gave us. But cooking it on their special grill made it very tasty, smoky, woody and moist. The fat from the meat comes to the surface making it moist and tasty. Dipping it into their special seasoning powder makes it taste 10 times better. I love their special seasoning powder, I can dip any meat into it and it’ll be delicious. **Meat Kebobs we order: Beef Kebab(10 pieces) $ 12.99 Marinated Beef(5 pieces) $ 8.99 Beef Intestine(5 pieces) $ 7.99 Beef Belly(1 piece) $ 2 Big Back Straps Paddy Wack(1 piece) $ 2 Beef Short Ribs(1 piece) $ 1.50 Bull Penis(1 piece) $ 1.50 Chicken Kebab(10 pieces) $ 10.99 Chicken Heart(5 pieces) $ 5.99 Chicken Gizzard(5 pieces) $ 5.99 Chicken Ribs(1 piece) $ 2 Chicken Ribs(1 piece) $ 2 Chicken Wing(1 piece) $ 1.50 Lamb Kebab(10 pieces) $ 12.99 Lamb Liver(5 pieces) $ 7.99 Lamb Spareribs(1 piece) $ 4 Lamb Ribs(1 piece) $ 3 Lamb Heart(1 piece) $ 2 Lamb Kidney(1 piece) $ 2 Pork Heart(5 pieces) $ 6.99 Pork Kidney(5 pieces) $ 5.99 Pork Belly w/Asparagus(1 piece) $ 3.50 Pork Belly w/Enoki Mushrooms(1 piece) $ 2.50 Quail(1 piece) $ 5.99 **Seafood Kebab we order: Fish Balls(1 piece) $ 1.50 Pawns(5 pieces) $ 8.99 Sisamo(5 pieces) $ 8.99 Squid(5 pieces) $ 6.99 Corn(1 piece) $ 2 Potato(1 piece) $ 2 Dry Tofu(1 piece) $ 1.50 Soung Mushroom(1 piece) $ 1.99 Eggplant(1 piece) $ 1 Steam Bun(1 piece) $ 1.50

So much to like, there’s no way you can try it all at once. Well, maybe you can. I swung by solo and was given the last available table. I was politely informed that if I wanted to do BBQ, that there’d be a $ 20 minimum. As I was pretty hungry and very curious, having read great reviews by both Jackson and Michael, that seemed easy enough. And it was. The Lamb Skewers, of course, are one of their showcase dishes, so I went for that. Ideally, yeah, you’d share this, since there’s about 10 skewers(for 14.99). Very tasty, if at times a bit gristley. Still, I liked it. Plus, we couldn’t fit it all on the grate at once — so, it was nice to spread that around. The kidney was pretty interesting, though of the four things I got, this may have been my least favorite. I absolutely loved the Dry Tofu wrapped Cilantro. I mean, c’mon. If you have any interest in cilantro, you gotta they this. What an awesome veggie dish. I also tried the Chinese Mushroom, which was good. More flavor than many ‘shrooms, and, again, a nice counter to all dat meat. One other thing: the standard boiling soup of egg white stuff that is brought out of you. Wait for it to cool a bit, and it totally looks like matzoh ball soup. And… it kinda taste like matzoh ball soup. It’s great. Service was friendly and efficient. Beer goes great with this meal, as does the large carafe of iced water. I really enjoyed Feng Mao. As stated elsewhere, it’s a sort of mix of Chinese and Korean food. And, happily, English is also spoken here, too. Definitely want to return — next time with a group.

This is a very fun restaurant. Something I’ve never seen in LA. It’s almost like Korean BBQ, but not quite the same. It’s cooked skewers of meat, fish, or veggies. They also have other dishes, but the skewers caught my eye. I would definitely recommend this for a group hang out and enjoy your some soju and beer with your meal. It was about $ 30 for two people. Food: The food is pretty simple, meet skewers with seasoning. I ordered lamb, beef, fish, and tofu wrapped cilantro. The beef and lamb were delicious. The fish was a bit more interesting; there are little fish roes inside. I would probably skip the tofu wrapped cilantro, pretty tasteless in my opinion. Drinks: They service soju and beer, why not order both! Service: The service was great! Our waitress was very attentive. Gave us extra free starters. She also spoke English, Chinese, and Korean, so take your pick in which language you’d like to speak. Parking: During the day, it is very hard to find parking. It is street parking till 6PM. Then, you can park across the street at the bank.

It’s good but it was better a few years ago. Since then the flavor of the marinade has seemed to change and doesn’t have as much cumin flavor. I don’t know why this place is labeled as «Chinese, Korean». It’s completely Chinese. Maybe because they provide you with kimchee? That’s like labelling every restaurant that serves Coke«American».

This is the place I seek when I am craving lamb. The marinaded meat plus the extra dry spices create an awesome medley of flavors. The open grill with the coals add a nice smokiness to the meat. Some may find it tedious but I personally enjoy the«grill it yourself concept» here. Just make sure you have someone watching the grill! I’ve tried a few of the other skewers but lamb is by far my favorite. However, the asparagus and pork belly was also good. My bf wanted to try the mapo tofu which was a mistake. Every time I took a bite I would get a really weird sensation on my tongue. It wasn’t spicy but I’m pretty sure it was a spice that was causing that sensation. We barely ate any of it… Just keep it simple and stick to the lamb, you won’t be disappointed! Perfect with a glass of beer :)

We had to wait a really long time to get a table. This place is pretty small and they definitely should work on the ventilation cause it smells like charcoal. I can handle a certain amount of smoke, but it got too stuffy in that restaurant. We got seated in the far corner and they brought out small side dishes like normal Korean restaurants. I also loved how they gave steamed egg! We ordered an order of lamb and an order of chicken kababs. We also got the pan fried buns! I ABSOLUTELYLOVEDTHEPANFRIEDBUNS! They were so soft and delicious, it was like biting into a cloud! Next time I’m in LA I’ll definitely get those to-go. The lamb kabab was pretty good. I’m picky about lamb because some places just taste too gamey but theirs didn’t. I also really liked their chicken. They give you this dry seasoning that you can use with your kababs and it was the perfect compliment for them. Their service was a bit slow and we definitely had to flag down some waiters but the food made up for it.

I had a mean craving for lamb skewers after visiting Northern China where the lamb skewers were great. So after perusing on Unilocal, decided to come check FMLB. Sadly, coming here can be summed up in the lyric, «I need four ply– four ply– four ply, when I cry.» Why am I crying, you ask? Well, let’s just say LOTS of reasons — oh, like the smoke, the open windows which allowed flies to frolic amongst diners, the heat(since the A/C was off), me having to write down my orders for the server who assumed I would be able to write in Chinese(spoiler — I want to, but can’t), and my sub-par skills in handling the grill which led to many burnt skewers. On to the food — we didn’t order much, but got the lamb skewers, the beef skewers, and bacon wrapped asparagus(which is call pork bellies wrapped asparagus, or something of that sort), and that’s about it. Yep, maybe that’s a lot for 2 and ½, but I thought it was just the right amount. The lamb and beef skewers were good, but not mind blowing. We put the bacon wrapped asparagus on the top/second tiered grill and slow grilled it, which made it very juicy — and that was a pleasant surprise in the end. It’s pretty obvious that this establishment is short staffed — the only lady serving us had to serve six(tables — yes, I counted) other customers at the same time — poor thing. We came around 4:45 p.m. on a Friday afternoon, so you’d think that they would’ve pre-empted the surging crowd(or maybe lack thereof). If you think service is not a big issue, then you’re making an even BIGGER mistake — because it really diminishes the whole presentation of the restaurant and for those first comers, it’s a turn off — who knew skewers unevenly distributed over charcoal grills can be so finicky to maneuver? Who knew you had to either speak Korean or Chinese(and wait for a long time) for service? Who knew you wouldn’t be able to handle the grill and may need assistance from time to time? high expectations and substandard delivery hence gave birth to such a Unilocal review. For the amount of money spent versus the quality and the deal, I concluded that Road to Seoul is a much more money/time/value effective choice. Still gave them 3 stars, you know, for trying. It is a different experience, but once is enough for me.

So the food is delicious here. We ordered the lamb and beef skewers and let me just say, the seasoning is AMAZING and I guess the meat too. I felt like the banchans were on the better side, especially because they included a steamed egg(although it was very tasteless) and peanuts and bean sprouts(my favorite). When we first came in, we had to wait for a while. this place is actually pretty small. And they have 2 giant tables but it’s sort of a waste of space if there are small parties eating there since the tables are just empty. They really should add grills there so more people can be eating at once! The waiters don’t really speak English. Tried to get water but they didn’t know what I meant? So I began speaking in Chinese and I guess they still didn’t really understand me. I asked for a refill for 2 of the side dishes and they took it away and never came back with more??? Don’t know if they forgot, didn’t understand me, or didn’t wanna give more to me. After reading some other Unilocal reviews, I feel like they pretended not to understand me. I asked them again later on for more side dishes and they only came with 2… when I asked for all of them. Oh well. I guess they’re just stingy about it… so that’s why they only deserve 3 stars. Also, the pricing is expensive. I’d probably come here once every 5 – 6 months or so since having kebabs isn’t too healthy either.
