Without exception, the staff here is the friendliest of any of the other local fast food places. I live nearby and I’ve been here many many times. Parking is easy and even the food is good. I have never been disappointed with this place.

Yes, I’m writing a review for a fast food joint. But, Pollo Loco is where it’s at. The service is so good, efficient, and friendly! The food is fresh and yummy and the restaurant always clean. What more can you ask from a fast food place?

I’ve been at his place a few times now. Sometimes it’s dirty sometimes it’s clean, the food is pretty good. And the toppings bar is also pretty good, lots of salsa and things to help yourself to but this is another place where sometimes it’s clean and sometimes it gets nasty. I also wish this place had a simpler menu. I just feel like it’s expensive for one person but you can get a good deal if you buy a big family meal. Overall not bad though. I’ll probably go back again at some point.

I am so disgusted by the arrogance from the manager and the employees at El Pollo Loco. First off, I never eat at a junk food, fast food place however, I noticed salad options to be delivered from DoorDash to the house since I was busy and could not leave the house. I work from HOME and have a 6 month old baby to care for and all I wanted was a lunch that tasted good and made me feel better. I specifically begged on DoorDash for 5 Pico sides, 5 Avocafo sides and extra salad dressing. The associate and manager at El Pollo Loco refused to the Door Dash girl over and over, even though I typed in begging the«Restaurant Notes Section» for them because I DONOTENJOY my food without tomato Pico and the avocado sauce. But, they were so petty even though if you eat there you can have as much as you want, that they refused to and gave me instead, 1 avocado sauce and 2 picos for a salad and a burrito. Then, the salad I ordered, they purposely put ZERO of the pico in it knowing I needed lots and literally ONLY gave me half the salad in the tostada(NOT what is in the picture) and rice with shrimp, no pico and no sour cream and 5 beans. To partner up with DOORDASH and then purposely refuse an order that was clearly asked for and give half of what is on a photo should be illegal. Lying to customers about what you get in the salad and displaying FAKE photos of the food should and in the state of California actually can be illegal. El Pollo Loco, believe it or not you can be sued for this. Ask your attorneys and lawyers. There is no where and I made sure to look displaying anything saying that«food portions and half of what is in the photo, minus half the ingredients may happen or vary» bla bla bla! I am king to the health department to pay you a visit, so I hope the restaurant is clean, and I am going to the better business bureau along with the news channels. You advertise FALSE information and photos and refuse to give customers simp things such as sauce, which may be discrimination. You may cut back portions when customers are not there and expect a profit.

The staff here are really nice and probably one of the most cleanest restaurants that I’ve been too only thing that sucks that they don’t serve French fries from any of their locations now cause I thought they were really good

i never really liked el pollo loco when i was a little kid because my dad was extremely controlling and he would never let me order what i wanted and I just had to accept that he would always direct my el pollo loco experience and I think he got like the stuff to make your own fajitas or whatever idk it was the mid 2000s but it’s so weird to sit here as an adult and be able to make my own choices at el pollo loco and the staff are always very friendly and they understand that I have some uncertainty because with great power comes great responsibility and maybe they too have had people in their lives who never just let them be free to be who they wanted to be and I told the girl at the register and I was nervous and in my head she cupped my face and told me that I would do great but in reality she just said that the crunchwrap supreme was popular okay she didn’t say that exactly because they don’t call it a crunchwrap supreme but it’s basically el pollo loco’s version of a crunchwrap supreme and it’s really good and they have sauces too

I find the people at this El Pollo Loco to be especially friendly and genuinely nice-I also find the same at the one on Sunset near Western, but the one here is outstanding-so when the food is good and i’m using a coupon, i feel as if i’ve gotten a bargain.

Signature salads? What a joke! We were seduced by the ads on television featuring the«signature salads» heaped high with a delicious-looking assortment of goodies. We opted for the Mexican cobb salad to go and asked for extra black beans in lieu of rice for which they charged an extra 30 cents. No problem; seemed like a good deal. By the time we got home and opened our dinners we were extremely disappointed. Not only was the«extra portion of black beans» non-existent(there was no more than a tablespoon full of black beans tucked into the corner), the rest of the salad consisted of a sliver or two of avocado, a sprinkling of cheese, a heaping of iceberg lettuce and little else. We’re much better off patronizing Chipotle where the portions are generally large and consistently good.

This pollo loco is sorry! They can’t take an order right. They can’t count. They only deliver curbside. And to top it all off, they compensate for messing up on orders with, «We’ll getcha back next time ;-)» KFC may be a fried breaded mess, but at least they«do chicken right»(at least by their standards).

Great location in Silver Lake. The staff if quite patient when you are a bit undecided. Clean location inside and out. Best of all, parking in their lot is always available.

The staff alone here wins the 5 stars. I didn’t think I come here that often, but the manager knows me by name. Even when she doesn’t take my order! Lol. They are all sweet, very friendly always with a smile. The chicken is always delicious. Never under or over cooked. I usually get the 2 piece, leg and thigh and love their marinade/seasoning. a must have is their«deluxe» [?] Side of corn cake. Deeeeelish! Their beans are close to tasting like my granny’s so they also get a thumbs up. Churros are good, but if you wait to eat them, they’ll get a little hard on you: P [no pun intended]

(Took Out 10÷08÷12 M @ 8pm): Yeah, I like their churros more than their food… want to make something of it?! I could honestly say it might be a bad thing to have an El Pollo Loco in walking distance from home. It was a long weekend of weddings, eating, driving, and school(my friend, anyway), and we were happy to finally be home, and eventually unload the Toaster and unpack. Once we settled in at our pad, suddenly my friend was hungry. This was after we had a humongous Thai lunch in Temecula, and we brought back some leftover Tom Yum soup. She was saving the soup for lunch the following day, and craved«the crazy chicken»(plus, we had coupons posted to our refrigerator), so we headed down. In addition, we needed ice to make some mixed drinks! I was still full from lunch, so all I really wanted was dessert — their churros! The coupon offered we used was for a 2-piece flame grilled chicken combo with chosen sides of Spanish rice and beans, tortillas, salsa, and a small drink($ 5.00). Instead of the drink, we filled the cup with ice for our cocktails! I ordered off the value menu and got the 2-churros deal($ 1.19). As we waited for the food, we loaded-up at the salsa bar with so many containers of all the various types, not only for this meal but for later meals in the next day or two. In short order, our food was ready, everything was accounted for, and off we went back home. Once we walked through our front door, we had our priorities straight… make the drinks — Jack & Coke! Soon, we found ourselves on the couch as the movie«Better Off Dead» played in front of us. I was perfectly content with my cinnamony goodness with a soft slightly chewy center and crunchiness outside churro! Mmm… mmm…good! Don’t get me wrong, this is one of the few fast food places I’ll frequent, and I liked their chicken, too, although I don’t understand beef items on the menu at a place called«El Pollo Loco»; whatever. Not a knock against them, but I saw their food as more serviceable, than anything else. I had a taste of the sides, still warm and flavorful. I actually liked their mac & cheese the most, but truth be told, all sides are good. By the look of things, everything must have been good because my friend threw it down like nobody’s business! Got to love a person who likes food! The service was very good, and our female order-taker was friendly and talkative. There were several people before and after us, seemingly all for take-out, but the lines went quickly. Parking was good as they had their own lot. There is also plenty of street metered parking along Sunset Blvd., but be mindful of the signs on the side streets as many are resident permit parking. We walked, so no issues for us. Overall, this El Pollo Loco in Silver Lake did a good job, as most other locations do. They seem to be a well-ran company. Even without the coupon, I found good value as noted by the prices I quoted above(total bill was around $ 6.00 with coupon; no tip required), but I’ve also noticed their value menu has progressively gone up in prices; just the way all food prices have gone lately. The atmosphere was like any other fast food restaurant with many tables and chairs throughout, with ample walking space. There was a TV, and was extremely clean(for some reason I wasn’t expecting it to be so clean). The place was totally casual, so I was in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. And they accepted my credit card of choice… AMEX!

El Pollo Loco contacted me letting me know they addressed the issue with the bums at this location. Sure enough, when I went back recently, there were no bums at either entrance and the camp they’d set up in the back was gone. One lone bum was planted on the handicap ramp in back. I informed the manager and she said she’d address it immediately. Good job El Pollo Loco!

I haven’t returned to this particular store because I live in N. Cali now, however I feel the need to comment on the incredible customer service I’ve since received from El Pollo Loco’s corporate office. They went above and beyond to ensure I would once again be a happy customer by contacting me to apologize for my previous experience. They generously offered me a free lunch which I’ve already used at a nearby El Pollo Loco. Their menu has changed a bit but the quality(especially the guacamole salsa), is back to how I remember it being back in the day years ago. It was delish. 5-stars for customer service
