For what I got, it was dope. Ordered a breakfast burrito as a snack before heading over to get some KBBQ. It did not disappoint. In fact, it may have outdone the KBBQ place next door. The tortilla was well-cooked, a little toasty/crispy on the outside. Inside, the cheese was melted, the bacon and sausage(we got half and half) were warm and crispy, and the hashbrowns were crispy as well! It was all-in-all a well put together burrito. The tomato(pico de gallo) was very tasty as well. Perhaps the only disappointment was their salsa roja, I was not a huge fan. But $ 7 for a humongous breakfast burrito. Although it’s a little more than your typical burrito(I think because we got half bacon/half sausage it was a little more) it is well worth it. Recap: — BOMB breakfast burrito — so incredibly well-made — get half bacon, half sausage — huge burrito, good price

This review is for the BREAKFASTBURRITO only… Ladies, gentlemen, Unilocalers, I believe we have a winner: the award for LA’s Best Breakfast Burrito goes to… ELJALAPEÑOTACOS!!! That’s right, people. After many years of foodie research, my search is finally over. Now, let me preface this award by explaining what my search criteria has been to help you understand what we have here: 1. Ingredients: Must be what I call a «clean» burrito with simple components — versus a «dirty» burrito that has you biting into all kinds of uninvited stuff. Eating breakfast shouldn’t be a mysterious experience… leave the surprises for dinner. Lol 2. Cheese: Must be cheddar cheese. I know, I know, cheddar cheese isn’t the most authentic when it comes to Mexican food, but IDC. Cheddar has a way of bringing all the flavor together in a burrito. I’ve found a few places who almost made the cut, but fell short by having jack cheese or cojita cheese. A couple of places even had american cheese… AMERICANCHEESE?! For the love of God, what were they smoking??? 3. Tortilla: This is a pretty lenient category. No, you don’t have to have house-made tortillas. But they better be freshly warmed on the grill. I’ll punch you in the eye if you pull a tortilla out of the package & start filling it up!(Okay, not really, but I’d want to!) 4. Size: 1−½ hands. In the world of burritos, there are, surprisingly, a wide variety of sizes that you get… from the kiddie, almost taco size jokes, to the lumber jack’s family overstuffed meal. I’ve found the happy medium is right in between with a 1−½ handed burrito. It’s not quite the 2-hander, but still enough to fill you up & even save some for later. 5. Pay tha lady: Must be under $ 6-$ 7…$ 8MAX. I mean this is fast food we’re talking about. And must accept cash AND credit card. It’s 2016 people, need I say more? El Jalapeño aced every category with flying colors! Eggs, cheese, hash browns & your choice of meat(I got bacon), badabing-badaboom! All for around $ 5 after tax. In addition, their pico de gallo(which I asked to add & suggest you do the same) is sooooo super fresh & yummy! Quite a few reviews complained about their breakfast burrito being too greasy, but I figured I’d give them a try anyways since most of those reviews are like 3&4 years old. I’m glad I did — seems like they got their oil situation under control as there was no trace of it on the outside of mine. Ahhhh… I feel like I can retire from life now! The quest is over.

Every time, I eat awesome burritos, my eyes glaze and I go into a hypnotic trance, thinking«Mexicans are the greatest. Thank you for creating such awesome food.» The chicken burrito was perfect. The rice was good. The chicken was good. The pico de gallo salsa was fresh. Plus, the customer service was excellent. Only $ 5.45 plus tax. I will never understand why people go to bullshit places like Chipotle that serves flavorless food at higher prices.

Like all restaurants in LA — the shittier the place looks on the outside, the better it tastes on the inside. Their chicken is great — but they tend to overcook so tell them not to. Price is excellent. For under 20, you can feed about 3 people. Or 5 small ones lol. They don’t put msg like at the Japanese Peruvian spot so you won’t get hot flashes when you’re eating but otherwise, it’s a star!

It is open now not sure why they closed but it’s open bottom line very good tacos burritos tortas burgers also get a whole or half a grilled chicken plate which is very good… but my favorite is the nachos with cArne asada they also take debit and credit… nice.4 stars because occasionally they mess up my order even though I buy here on the regular(I worked up the street for ten years)

Trying New Mexican food could either go good or bad. Me and my co worker decided to try this Mexican shack down the street from were we work and surprisingly we score a home run in deciding to go. When we got there the cashier lady was attentive and ask if she could help as she seen we were new to this place, super friendly and generous. I decided to try the asada taco to see how it taste and at first I was not impressed by the way they chopped their onion and cilantro, it was just way to thick for a taco, but after trying the meat it tasted like el taurinos marinade, red hot sauce was good and the grilling chicken outside smelled irresistible, so I told the girl if I could try the chicken and I was impressed with flavor. I ended up having half a chicken with rice, beans, tortillas, salsa, pico, hot sauce and a soda for 8 bucks what a deal. Because of the chunky cilantro and onions I give this place four stars, but overall I give this place

When I made a huge move all the way from south Florida to California(with a Mexican girlfriend from Orlando area where there are PLENTYOF mexicans), I would not think we would be able to find a spot that would have us recurring our business. but the pretty affordable tacos, good tasting and good pricing, had us coming here about 3 – 4 times a week. The best part about this place has to be the BREAKFASTBURRITO… I loooooved me some chorizo breakfast burrito, it was always so perfect. one time a little too greasy but the other times. perfect everything… so if you had to order one thing here, I would get for that… A close second to what the top food is here is the rotisserie chicken they have. you can smell and see the chicken that they are always cooking in a building adjacent and that alone will attract you to this spot. also another good try if not in the mood for the breakfast burrito in town

Came out of my way to try their chorizo and egg burrito. It was big and tasty, although I wanted it to taste better. Their salsa made it better though. It’s worth a try if you’re nearby.

Good food at reasonable prices. Parking can be a drag sometimes but it’s alright. The portions are huge and their charbroiled chicken is great!

It’s cheap, it’s delicious and you always leave your tummy satisfied! The portions are great! Get the Pollo Entero, it includes some Jalapeños, Rice, Beans and some really good hot sauces! It’s outside seating and they got only about 3 parking spots.

this place has great charbroiled chicken. if you need a fast food comparison, it’s like el pollo loco, but way better to the nth degree. the chicken is broiled fresh in a little hut next door. a half chicken meal with rice, beans, corn tortillas, and all the fresh pico de gallo you want for only about $ 8. the half chicken meal also includes a soda. full chicken meal with double the sides will cost only about $ 15. they also include grilled jalapeño like their namesake. careful because they can get spicy. if you want fresh, guilt free, and cheap mexican chicken, come here. i recommend calling in your order to minimize your wait. workers are always nice and accommodating. don’t forget to ask for extra bags to load up on the pico de gallo, limes, and diced radishes. the pico de gallo is key. they’re also generous with the salsa. breakfast burritos here are also pretty tasty for under $ 5 with one meat or you can add different kinds of meet for a dollar or two more. service is quick and courteous.

I love quality mexican food and these folks do it right. The breakfast burritos are a great way to start the day. The coffee is trucker coffee though so i mix it with champurrado from the lady on the street. The pico de gallo looks homemade and is tasty. The staff is friendly. The food is good. The $ 13. deal for the whole grilled chicken with beans, rice and tortillas seems reasonable. The tamales are $ 1.35 each. The tacos are good too. This place rocks. Mi gusta. The pollo asada is off the hizzel for rizzel. All the salsas are freshly made. Carne asada burrito is ridiculous. Everything is priced very inexpensive so don’t let that fool you. Their food is very good. And the have an A rating in the window.

This place is down the street from my best friends apartment. Whenever i crash there if i have time in the morning, i get a breakfast burrito here and it is always the best decision i make! very reasonably priced breakfast burritos with egg and salsa, they also have salsa for you to add on. i’ve seen others get tacos, i’ve never tried, but those look delicious too! i love this place and cannot wait until i’m back in LA so i can go again!

Pretty decent street tacos, but i think you can find better. The carne asada was relatively standard, some of the meat was a little fatty, but that’s to be expected at a street stand. The chicken were very good, actually some of the better chicken street tacos I’ve had. shredded chicken with a nice sauce. The fire grilled chicken sure smelled great, though. next time, i might have to get a whole chicken.

$ 1.35 tacos! What a great place for a late night snack. Plenty of seatings. Parking is tougher though since it shares the plaza with Soowon.

My family and I went here to grab a quick bite of tacos while waiting for our reservation to be called at the Korean restaurant across from this place. There are only benches for seating. Prices are average for tacos and their tacos are juicy — packed with flavor. A plus is that there is complimentary Pico De Gallo salsa displayed outside the taco shop. The combo of tacos with Pico De Gallo tastes amazing! This place can be easily overlooked with so many other restaurants crowding around on this street, but it is definitely worth a quick bite!
