David the barber is the best! I have been coming to this mom and pop shop since I was 15 years old(now in my thirties). By the time I fit getting a hair cut into my schedule my facial hair is bordering that cave man/homeless person look but after David is done with me, I walk out looking like a million bucks. I can always count on him to be there when I need, to be friendly, and to do a good job. I wouldn’t trust anybody else to cut my hair. Please note that he will soon be moving because gentrification is pushing the 40 year old shop out of this location. Call him before showing up just in case the shop has moved at() — to Sincerely a loyal customer.

I’ve been going here for a couple of years now, getting my hair cut once/month. David is amazing! It can definitely get busy. There’s only been ONETIME have I been able to walk in and jump right into the chair. I usually don’t mind waiting if there are 3 or 4 people ahead of me(and I have a «relationship» with David). David let’s me know what the wait is up front. But if you’re under time constraints, I highly recommend calling ahead for an appointment. Bottom line, if you’re looking for a good, old fashioned men’s haircut, look no further. This is the place!

The barber was attentive like I’ve never experienced. So thorough and exactly what I asked for!

I called just to make sure they provided shaving services. I was polite. A man said«NO!» and slammed down the phone before I could get another word in. Um, yeah. Eff this place.

David is awesome. I’ve been going to him for three years and am satisfied every time. I shaved my head for 10 years because it was easier than dealing with the crap shoot of getting a hair cut. Sometimes good, sometimes really bad. I am thrilled to be able to have a head of hair that I’m satisfied with at every haircut. Nothing fancy about this shop, just a quality haircut from a super nice guy at a reasonable price.

i got a couple of good cuts there… but i gotta tell you, its a busy place and if you don’t have a relationship there — they have no problem saying we are too busy and can’t cut your hair. in the end, so unreliable, i stopped going.

Wow. I went here on a lark and got the best shave and trim ever. For what it’s worth, my last one was the $ 40 job at ‘Art of Shaving’ and this blew it away for just $ 15. David is a true old-school artist. Did it all with a comb, scissors and a straight razor. Took his time and did EXACTLY what I told him to. No freelancing, no mistakes/Didn’t feel obligated to make lame small talk. The place is a bit of a holdout from when Silverlake wasn’t the luxury neighborhood it is now. So, no ‘The National’ on the radio, no cappuccino machine, etc. Up to you whether you require those creature comforts. But if you go there and ask for ‘David’ you can’t go wrong. Highly recommended.

I’ve been going to this barber shop since I clipped my dreads about three years ago and started getting a conservative haircut(barf). Ask for David, he really listens and takes the time to make sure you get the haircut you want. Just be very specific with him and don’t feel bad, as he wants all his customers to leave happy. P. S.- Don’t have Figurin cut your hair!
