While I can understand the complaints of the myriad of student and staff body of USC regarding the timeliness of the service, I have to really commend the workers at this Einstein Bros Bagels. I mean, that’s just it, isn’t it? They are basically servicing a huge portion of the USC staff and students who need coffee and food for fuel to get them through the day ahead. And compared to the wait at Starbucks, the wait here is nothing compared to that. For me, maybe because of what time I come in the morning, I’ve never really experienced that long of a wait time. At most, 10 minutes, but that’s just in my experience. During the summer, their coffee refill of $ 1.10 got me through all the lectures. I would come in with my extra big thermos, the workers would ask, «Coffee?» and I’d nod and smile meekly, asking them for the love of my life, and drug of choice, caffeine. It’s drip, nothing fancy. Some people don’t really like the taste of coffee here, but it suits me just fine(I prefer it to the drip at Starbuck’s for $ 2). I even got it to a point where I could prepay for 5 coffee’s so that the process could become even more efficient by just bringing the receipt instead of having to pay each time. The bagels here are bomb-diggity, too. A lot of people buy in bulk for groups like at Keck Hospital or for class. I really like their egg bagels and their smear(mmm, Pumpkin Smear during that time of year was delish). I think that what I really liked about Einstein was the employees working there. It’s obvious that they are pretty slammed on the daily, but they really take the time to take care of the people on campus. I really enjoyed going to get my coffee in the morning, not just for the coffee but for their smiles and conversation. They do their best to remember people by name. Everyone really breams with positivity, which is really hard to do sometimes when working in a fast pace service industry. I’ve had times where a conversation I’ve had brief as it is, really makes me feel uplifted. For that, I can say with full confidence that out of all the campus food choices at USC Health Science Campus, Einstein is my favorite and will always be my go to. Two things of note: they do close at 3 so take that into consideration and there is a discount of 10% using the USC card.

Ordered here for the first time today. I asked for the vanilla hazelnut latte but the cashier got my order wrong and thought I wanted a latte. I didn’t say anything though. The latte was not good at all. It tasted really watered down. I will still come here again to try their other items even with my bad experience today.

I had a class at USC’s Health Science Campus in which there would be a couple girls that ALWAYS ate some type of bagel sandwich from Einstein’s during lecture. I don’t usually care for bagels, but I had forgotten my lunch one day and happened to sit by one of the girls nomming on her bagel sandwich. The smell of it was so heavenly to me, I immediate went over to Einstein’s once class let out. I ordered the«Thintastic Eggwhites: Asparagus, Mushroom, and Swiss». I waited for about seven minutes before my bagel was handed to me. The bagel itself was pleasantly warm, so I thought it was safe to eat right away. However, after my first bite, I immediately burned my tongue. The egg inside the sandwich was piping hot. I touched it with my finger(because I was in disbelief) and it indeed was unbearably hot. I don’t think it’s good service to serve customers food that is way too hot to eat, especially without any warning. I ate the sandwich after it cooled down for a while, and it honestly was nothing special. I didn’t expect there to be sauce inside, but there was some weird orange-colored sauce in it that I had to scrape out because it tasted like melted mayonnaise and was pretty gross. Perhaps I should have asked one of those girls in class what she ordered since she clearly loved Einstein’s bagels enough to eat it for lunch every week.

My first time buying a bagel! The staff was very friendly and patient with my lack of knowledge. Got a cinnamon raisin bagel with almond honey shmear. It was yummy. And cheap. And filling! I’ll definitely go back.

I wasn’t acknowledged by staff while waiting, either, & got blamed when THEY screwed up & gave my order to another customer! I won’t go back.

A good little bagel shop with an extensive array of different types of bagels and bagel toppings. If you’re a USC student they also accept USCard, which is super nice when you’re out of cash. The only downside is that they close so early! I usually get out of class around 4PM and they are already closed. It’s amazing how much more business they would get if they just stayed open longer! But I would recommend Einstein’s for its bagels and sandwiches. Perfect price!

They have really nice workers but they honestly provide really slow service! I’m always trying to get in and out of there but always find myself waiting a little too long for my order. However, I do prefer their food over other eateries on campus. If you do go, try their cheddar jalapeño bagel!

I’ve had one too many bad service here and decided to not come back. For some reason, their lattes are not very good. It’s tastes nothing but milk and bland. I feel like I have to force myself to drink their beverages since I pay nearly $ 4 – 5 for it. Some tastes watered down and other times, their coffee does too. I would skip over einsteins for coffee and just stick to the bagels. Bagels are not too shabby. But their shmear is pretty tasty!

I would have originally put this Einstein’s at 2 stars, but after my last experience here(and I say«last» perhaps in many senses of the word), I may have to stop coming here all together. I waited 7 minutes in line on a weekday morning, when there were only 2 people ahead of me. In this time frame, I wasn’t even *acknowledged*. Frustrated and not wanting to be late to my 7:30 am class, I left in a hurry, hangry(hungry angry) and empty-handed. There was also another time within the past month where I went at around 12:50pm(right before my 1pm class) to buy a bag of chips only… not even for a sandwich. There was ONE person in front of me, and in the 5 minutes I waited, the service was SOSLOW that I walked away from that attempt to buy food empty-handed as well. Bottom line — the employees are nice most of the time and you do get the tax discounted from your order if you show your student ID, but it’s hard to make up for the painful inefficiency — especially for a convenience chain restaurant. I’m not sure if there’s anything that can be done to compensate for the incredibly inefficient service I’ve encountered here, 100% of the time. In the 20 or so times I’ve eaten here, I literally do not remember one instance of efficient service. I challenge you to find slower service in a 50 mile radius at a FAST food chain. Bottom line: Tax exempt for students, but almost not worth it any more because you will have to wait about 10 minutes to get your food… if you get your food at all.

Located at USC’s Health Science Campus, this location primarily caters to that community. Being said, I noticed that they open Monday thru Fridays and close during breaks where students are not present on campus. The employees were quite friendly. I was able to snatch a everything bagel schmear with a nice vanilla hazelnut coffee for approximately $ 4.33(which is inclusive of tax). I had to pay for parking on the street, but it was worth it to grab a bagel here.

Not the healthiest, and a bit pricey, but their sandwiches were pretty good. Of the food options near the USC Health Science Campus, Einstein’s definitely held my interest a lot longer than Panda or the Grill, and was my go-to for a quick lunch. I’ve particularly liked the B.A.T.(Bacon Avocado Turkey) and the(somewhat) new Tasty Turkey on Asiago.

This place is golden, considering there’s not much option at the USC Health Science Campus and I am a total bagel girl. I prefer to get my coffee at Starbucks, but they don’t have the variety of bagels that Einstein has. A warm and fresh bagel with cream cheese cost me about three dollars — slightly overpriced yet expected at a school campus. Jalepeno salsa and onion&chives are my favorite spreads. Expect a swarm of staff and students during lunch hour! +Happy hour is on fridays 3−4pm — select items are half off! +Use your USCID card for tax off.

Einstein’s is OK. Call me a bagel snob, but I just wasn’t too impressed with their menu and quality. I had the asparagus mushroom swiss eggwhite bagel thin sandwich. It’s supposedly only a couple hundred calories and really healthy. It sure tasted like it. I didn’t really actually SEE any mushroom in it though. Not bad. The place gets busy around lunch, with students, faculty, working staff, so be prepared to wait, even if it’s just for a bagel and cream cheese. There’s not really any other bagel places available in the immediate area, so this will have to do for your bagel fix.

Show your usc id to get a small discount. The line is always really big during breakfast and lunch but the workers are super friendly. The food is alright, but way overpriced. It always blows my mind that people actually buy the tiny fruit cups here for $ 4⁄5 when there are fruit carts right across the street that sell a huge bag of fruit for way less. They don’t take coupons here :[

Definitely a meh. The only good thing about this place is that it’s really close to the USC Health Sciences Campus. So if you’re a student there, or work nearby at the hospital, etc then this can be a regular spot for you, especially if you’re craving bagels! I am a total bagel girl. It’s one of my fave breakfast foods! For me, I’d eat a bagel hands down any day over a donut and I’ve had many other bagels that were far tastier like at Noah’s Bagels or even Panera so sadly, Einstein’s is only getting a 2 because in comparison, it’s pretty mediocre. Sometimes the bagels are super stale, and there’s not too much variety of spreads. But again if you’re in the area and craving a bagel, it’s worth trying once.

This place has prime location for people near USC’s health science campus to grab some breakfast. However, just because you have a great location and a bunch of people coming in doesn’t excuse the craptastic service and high prices. Their asparagus and mushroom thin bagel breakfast sandwich is DELICIOUS. There is a spread in there that is addicting. They raised the prices so I’m not one to pay 5 something for a thin bagel bfast sandwich and a cup of coffee… I better get a toy with that or something. The only problem is if you order it, it might not come out correctly. The service is spotty, sometimes they don’t know wtf they’re doing and somehow the person after you who ordered the same thing you did, gets their order before you do. Uh what?

I researched at Zilkha for two years while in undergrad and i think i looked the most forward to getting my bagel after lab and eating it on the tram on the way back to USC’s main campus. Don’t get me wrong, the people in my lab were great, but pipetting definitely loses to warm bagel with a delicious cream cheese schmear. My two favorite combinations: Asiago(cheese) Bagel + Onion and Chive Schmear Everything Bagel + Jalapeño Salsa Schmear In additions to bagels they has have a yummy roasted vegetable sandwich! *side notes* USCID = no tax :) Also you can pay with your discretionary money in your account The line gets long during peak breakfast and lunch time
