For under five bucks that was a really good deal for the nutritional value I got here… And a great service by the staff… Highly recommend this place!

In a very under-developed part of town in Harbor City, it’s a typical Korean-run BBQ plate shop, complete with the Korean clerk playing what sounded like Starcraft on his laptop. I ordered the spicy pork plate, which came with rice and green, potato, and macaroni salads. Sorry to say, but contrary to the other Unilocal reviews, it was pretty lousy. It’s hard to screw up potato and macaroni salad, but theirs were just bland. The spicy pork tasted strongly of propane, so I had to drench it in sriracha sauce to barely get through it. Prices, portions and service were all fair, but the food was sub-par.

Ramen is awesome, katsu is amazing. Prices are almost unbelievable. This place is amazing. And what i said about the guy in my earlier post was a language barrier mistake. Everyone at this restaurant is the best.

If you’re looking for a low-key joint to get your teriyaki and/other Asian dish fix, then this is the spot! Food and portion size are good for both dine-in and take-out. I agree with the other reviewer regarding the teriyaki sauce. It’s not overwhelming and not too sweet which allows you to taste the food. Keep it up, Don!

This place is good. customer service and the teriyaki chicken plate was great. I eat chicken teriyaki at least 4 times per week and this is one of the best I have had in a while. Only criticism I have is they need to do a better job prepping there chicken since I had a few pieces of fat and ligaments. Good price.

I live nearby and have driven by this stripmall plenty of times. Unilocal told me it was new and getting great reviews. And I love me some good teriyaki chicken from time to time, so I finally gave it a try. As idiotic as it sounds, the chicken and beef teriyaki plate put me in a happy place for the rest of the day! As others have mentioned, the teriyaki sauce stands out by not having a typical, overpowering flavor. It’s not a unique flavor; I’ve enjoyed it before at other Japanese restaurants. And that’s why I was in just a great mood that day afterwards. It truly was comfort food! The macaroni salad and potato salad were also deliciously subtle in flavor, not very creamy with heavy mayo, and having a similar home-made taste. Also enjoyed the dressing on the green salad. Everything was great! At first, I was a little overwhelmed when the guy who took my order brought my meal to me on a huge plate… no, platter! But everything on it was delicious and the collective portions just right! A fine meal with a Coke for about $ 11. I look forward to coming back soon to try the one of the wraps as well as one of the katsu plates.

I absolutely love this place!!! My plate of choice is the combo plate and I am absolutely obsessed with their mash/macaroni salad :) Yummy and not bad for $ 11 you get a decent amount of food. Honestly I’ve been to other teriyaki places like this one but never as good as this one when it comes to portion and flavor! The only thing I don’t like is that they are not open on Sunday which is the day I am usually around the area :/but the rest is awesome and the people there are so friendly and sweet.

Stopped in from out of town… looking for a quick bite before heading back down to SD. Got the spicy pork bowl. The pork was delicious and perfectly cooked. Had a slight sweet taste on the front end with nice mellow heat on the back. Came with a little side salad that was surprisingly yummy. Dressing was also a bit sweet. Can’t put my finger on exactly what the dressing was, but I’d have eaten three more portions at least. Nice price too — less than $ 10 with two drinks(I drink a lot when I eat).

I’ve been searching for a good teriyaki restaurant in the Los Angeles area for a good while now and I’ve found it in the heart of Lomita. Don’s Bbq has the most flavorful Teriyaki sauce I’ve ever had. Since the Teriyaki plate was phenomenal, I went back to try the noodle soup, in which, the soup base isn’t derived from a soup base, but slow cooked from beef bone! You can see it from my genuine reaction from photo #11. Thank you bald chef, sir. You’re the best!

Juicy teriyaki place on Lomita This place is hard to find since its a small place inside a plaza and the sign is hard to see. However, you’d be surprised at how good the food is. The price is decent, same as other teriyaki places. The service is great and very homey with the cute Korean older lady who looks like the owner. The food is excellent and is very clean. Love how it tastes like Korean bulgogi, chicken, and the ribs is like galbi. It looks like it would be Hawaiian but it tastes like Korean food which I love. I got the combo plate for $ 11, but their bowls are about $ 5 – 6. The food has great quality where the chicken is soft and juicy. The beef is tender and tasteful. The ribs are marinated and delicious. It is not overpowering of teriyaki sauce which brings out the flavor of the meats. I also tried their beef wrap which is wrapped with clear rice Paper like Vietnamese rolls. The rolls are about $ 5 and very delicious. Food looks and tastes very clean and fresh. Definitely found my lil teriyaki joint by work. Similar to Waba grill but has different options and the beef and chicken is better here. Juicy!
