Best tasting soft serve ever… the twist was so yummy! Visited on Ventura Blvd in Encino, CA. Sweet person with sparkling energy.

This is my guilty pleasure. I will lie about how often I go to see Joe. I bring new enablers each time, to help me feel normal about my CVT obsession.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? This is legit East Coast soft serve, reminds me of the Mister Softee trucks in NYC, except better and with a cleaner truck. And the sea salt… sooo good. Not to mention that the owner is super nice and funny, check out the picture of his employee of the month!

Chocolate and vanilla swirl, swirl, swirl…(not a #oitnb fan? nvm) It is hard to find good soft serve in LA, or even enough options. This one popped up in our search and when I hopped on Twitter and saw that they stop regularly at the Mendocino Farms in Sherman Oaks(which they refer to as The Shoaks), it was on. It’s not far from the 101 freeway, but more importantly for me, it’s along my commute. The menu is as simple as can be. You can get vanilla or chocolate or get them swirled/twisted together. Toppings are extra. I decided on the TWIST with SEASALT in a CONE. $ 3.50 for incredibly creamy soft serve and I liked the added sea salt.

I was visiting my friend and work and saw a couple trucks and was looking forward to visiting both. Some incident broke out and some guy in flip flops and basketball shorts starting shouting at the other truck. Whoa! Talk about service. I was hesitant to try this today and I wanted a nice treat and was afraid this guy was on the truck. Well, I got my frozen treat but man, I don’t want to run into that crazy guy. Hope you guys do something about him.

Rich, creamy delicious soft serve. The full fat kind! The owner is so friendly and nice — we’ve made it just in time before closing and he still accommodates us. Chocolate vanilla swirl with tons of rainbow sprinkles — can’t get much more refreshing than that. Have found them in Sherman Oaks on Ventura, at the Fairfax flea market and in Burbank on the last Friday of the month.

The best soft serve ever! I always have a pleasant experience here. The owner is friendly and asks how our night is going. I regularly get the chocolate soft serve with colored sprinkles, so good! It’s very cool how they update the location of the truck when I need a late night fix.

Arrived today at 2:56 and got the best darn ice cream in SoCal you can get. No exaggeration! I personally order the vanilla with rainbow sprinkles and it’s like heaven touching your lips! It’s worth every single penny there’s absolutely no where in town that can compare. Joe has ALWAYS been extremely nice to my husband and my 3 dogs. We have become regulars I mean how can we not its delicious! See you soon CVT!

Very rude turned us away at 9:01 because they close at 9:00 sharp. Also turned away 2 kids that were right behind us. Too punctual for a business that sells ice cream out of a truck on the side of the road

CVT — where have you been all my life?!? Now that I discovered you, I am constantly wondering when I will enjoy you next. My cousins and I went to Mendocino Farms in Sherman Oaks for dinner on a warm Friday evening in June. Prior to walking inside, I noticed the cute little CVT ice cream trucked parked outside. My cousins and I decided that we would try CVT after dinner, as a sweet little treat for dessert. As we were about to order, an enthusiastic young gentleman by the name of Anthony was ordering an ice cream float. I asked him what he recommended to order, and his response was simply, «Have you seriously never been here before? Their ice cream is like heaven in your mouth. Trust me, let me order for you guys. My treat.» I pleaded and told him it was not necessary, but Anthony insisted on treating my cousins and I to CVT. Therefore, he ordered a large cup of the CVT twist(half chocolate/half vanilla) with 3 spoons. The rest was history. Sweet, tasty perfection. CVT is soft serve ice cream made with the freshest and tastiest ingredients. You can truly say that CVT is cream of the crop when it comes to simple, old-fashioned ice cream. Prices are very reasonable at CVT. I can’t wait for round 2 of this glorious, sweet and creamy treat. Trust me, CVT is cool — in every sense of the word! And thanks again to Anthony — the exuberant young gentleman who introduced us to this amazing ice cream truck!

Still excellent! It is so good, I even drive to Studio City from Santa Clarita if I haven’t had it for awhile. My favorite is the vanilla, but the chocolate is excellent as well. If you see them, definitely try it, you will not regret it.

YUMMY! The ice cream is delicious and perfect on a warm Friday early evening! One man show doing a great job. This guy was awesome. I didn’t know what a Coffee Cream was and he did a great job explaining it to me and not making me feel like an idiot. :) Coffee cream combines my two favorite things — Ice Cream and Coffee! And it’s delicious… especially when you get to the end and it’s super creamy from the melted ice cream at the bottom. Mmmmmmm!

Finally! Good soft serve ice cream is found in SoCal! I never thought this would happen! Holy cow, I’m excited! Exclamation points!!! I went with my 8 year old self’s standard order: a twist with rainbow sprinkles in a cone. My inner fat kid was not disappointed! It was every bit as creamy and delicious as what I enjoy every time I am visiting home in upstate NY. I chatted a bit with the owner, who is also one of the only people I have met in my 13 years living in LA who knows the area I am from in upstate NY. We went to nearby high schools and graduated the same year. Super cool. With the combo of nostalgia and delicious, crack-tastic ice cream on a 90+ degree day in the valley– it’s safe to say CVT made my day!

Are you serious? A curly haired friend of mine brought some of this magic to me on a day that, well wasn’t going so well. What a day changer. After the first bite my whole mood was different. Freaking great!

Real soft serve that is delicious and about as no frills as you can get(which i am completely ok with since i’d rather have a –really– excellent vanilla cone than something that needs all the bells and whistles to be palatable) also super friendly service, totally reasonable prices, perfect portion sizes, and the truck is adorable.

Meh, not impressed. The colorful sprinkles caught my eye, but the actual taste was nothing to rave about. At $ 4 bucks a pop I was expecting for it taste heavenly and it didn’t. I personally would prefer McDonald $ 1 soft serve over this. Don’t waste your money.

Hands down the best soft serve ice cream I have ever had in my LIFE. «You can’t eat this standing up your knees buckle.» Chocolate, vanilla or twist soft serve, three topping options, one low price. Love the simplicity of this truck, the vintage feel and great service. If «Charlie» is in your neighborhood, stop by for a delicious treat. You won’t regret it.

I don’t normally eat soft serve ice cream but this is too good to pass up, vanilla with chocolate sprinkles in a cup: D comes with more sprinkles than the cone version. The soft serve is so creamy and delicious

I was not lucky enough to grow up in New York like my father’s generation and experience all that city has to offer to a young child, but I will take my fellow’s reviewers word that apparently soft serve ice cream is the one cultural offering NYC has over Los Angeles. Ha, I kid, I kid… the CVT truck is definitely the best option for soft serve I’ve had, and I only wish they showed up more often in our area.

Déjà vu! I finally found a soft serve vanilla cone as good as the cones I remember as a kid on the east coast! I enjoyed the vanilla cone for $ 3, and my friend loved the chocolate & vanilla twist with salt added. I didn’t tell the friendly CVT ice cream guy anything about myself, so it seemed like a sign when he said his truck was a fully restored Mr, Softee ice cream truck that his father drove for 30 years. Say what?! Mr. Softee was the best! We found the CVT truck parked outside of the Mendocino Farms restaurant in Sherman Oaks after dinner on Sunday. The vanilla has a nice smooth rich texture and a good flavor.
