Wha?!? I beat Tony to a KFC(korean fried crack) FTR? How can this be? Ah ssa! Either way, I am happy that I have a chance at it. 4 years ago, I was able to try(at the time) the newest Chicken joint — Co co roo — which happens to be a food stand within the Galleria Supermarket. It is located left of the registers and left of the orange juice stand and left of the video store. Lemme tell ya — years ago, they had it to perfection. It was perfectly fried and crispy. The menu was simple. I think they only had 4 or maybe 5 things tops on the menu. Since then, I guess business has grown — demand has gone up — and the menu has expanded with rice dishes offered as well as other items. They even added your own self-serve side dish«fix-ins» station too — which I totally appreciate. There are a few tables there — where you can sit down and grub. Sometimes, I do stay and eat, and sometimes I take it to go. Note: not the most diner friendly place to eat though since you are inside a supermarket and everyone tends to stare to see what you are eating — at the same time, it’s kinda sorta not really tucked away so you shouldn’t really care either. As far as the chicken — when this place first opened. It *was* my favorite Korean fast food chicken spot — period. Keep in mind Kyo Cho and Bön Chon were non-existent back then. Over the years, the quality has gone down — everything seems a bit more sloppy — which is why I gave it 3 stars. I usually get the plain fried chicken wings — not the battered chicken wings. Although, I have tried both, just a personal preference… but the plain fried wings, in my opinion, are better than the battered corn-syrupy ones. In conclusion, think of Co co roo as the fast food of the Kyo Chon or Bön Chons.
