I’m going to be real about this place.
It is a very good place to get your plants at a reasonable price, but this place is not as amazing as the other reviewers are making it out to be. If you are looking for a wide, but general assortment of plants like orchids, green house plants and trees, succulents, cati – come here. Also, the prices and the plant quality are really good here. I got 2 small stems of white orchids in a single pot for $ 9. That’s a better price than Trader Joes and they look really great. The guy that was there helped me pick out the best ones when I was there.
When these orchids die, I will come back here for new ones. For statements flowers and arrangements, I would go somewhere else though.
Parking is metered and not-​metered on the street. Try to park close though. I parked one block over and I was hassled by Skid Row’s finest on the way to and from the shop.

This is the best place to by house plants and flowers in LA. The prices are wholesale, so you are paying a fraction of what you would from the nursery or a retail store. They are conveniently located in the flower district, so you can check out other stores while you are down there.
I love the owners; they are super helpful, and make shopping in their store a pleasure. I always buy money trees; they are so pretty and last a long time, even for someone with no green thumb like me. They seem to specialize in orchids, as the store is abundant with these tropical colors everywhere.
They truly love plants and it shows. I highly recommend City Home Garden to anyone looking for plants and planting accessories.

I have bought several plants here, none of which have died so far. The store owners will kindly advise about what their plants will need too. It seems like they have tailored their smaller houseplant selection to include specifically plants that do well in apartments – something that is foolproof for Downtown residents who live in lofts and condos.
Also, there is a plant «designer» in the back who creates the most fantastical centerpieces and «plant art» I have ever seen. He is truly an artist. You must visit to to see what he creates for yourself – I simply cannot do it justice with words. Be careful though-​you might get addicted like me.
